Needs a deep cleaning and a few repairs made. Fireplace caused too much smoke in the other parts of the cabin
Was a wonderful location in Helen and we were able to park and never move our car the whole time. Our girls enjoyed the cabin and pool table and we found everything we needed to cook dinners there. We enjoyed the porch and closed in porch each day. Fun place to be!
Great stay for a weekend getaway. Plenty of room and spacious. The beds were exceptionally comfortable. Quick walk to town. Will definitely book again when we return to Helen, Ga.
This property is spacious and just steps away from the heart of downtown Helen, and we walked everywhere on this trip. One caution...the walk into town is mostly downtown, so walking uphill back to the cabin could be problematic for guests with mobility issues. We would definitely return to Delaine's Retreat for another stay!
We really enjoyed our stay at Delaine’s Retreat! The location is hard to beat! We loved being able to walk everywhere & enjoy the fresh mountain air/views.
Perfect location ❣️. Great for family or friends vacation ❣️
Loved the front porch and the screened back porch and the additional pool table room❣️ the place was perfect with three floors allowing private time and spaces for anyone who wanted ❣️loved that two bedrooms had king beds and the other two were queen ❣️ walking distance to everything ❣️❣️. Would love to make this our family vacation place every year ❣️. Thank you for sharing your beautiful place ❣️
We have stayed in Helen for Valentine's weekend for 6 years so far and this has been our favorite rental! The location is perfect, the cabin was clean, well maintained and offered so much charm. The rental process was very easy. We have NO complaints!
We liked how close it was to downtown. With the crowds and traffic of a holiday weekend, being able to walk to town in minutes was great. Hydrangeas out front was a nice touch. Kids loved the pool table. All around a nice accommodation.
We loved this cabin. It has all the modern amenities with a rustic feel. The location was excellent. Our teenage sons loved getting out and walking the streets of Helen then coming back and shooting pool at the house. We did not want to leave & will definitely book “Delaine’e Retreat” next time we visit Helen!
I stayed here for 4 nights with my son and his girlfriend and my 9 month old puppy. Super great location, in the heart of Helen. It is a bit of a climb up the hill to the house from Main Street (so be sure you have no ambulatory issues), but outside of that, great place to stay. House had great AC, was very clean and I loved all the woods! Highly recommend!
The property was as decribed very nice. Loved the screened in porch. Walking distance to everywhere. There is a hill coming back but it is the mountains lol. We had a great time
This cabin was amazing and Helen is beautiful. Short walk to downtown with so many fun things to do, dining, shopping, music, sight seeing, mountain coaster. And time with family in a beautiful cabin is exactly what we were looking for this holiday. Large, cozy, clean, beautiful! You never have to leave if you perfer to just relax in this beautiful home, they have so many things in the home to keep occupied, games, pool table, fireplace, beautiful porches...etc. Absolutly recommend this property, and I cannot wait to go back. Thank you for sharing your beautiful place!
We had a really nice time at Delaine's Retreat. Something that we thought needed addressing were the filter in the pool room needed changing. The room had a strong, musty smell which didn't make being in the room for longer than a few minutes possible. That being said, you cannot beat the location of the cabin. With some updating, the cabin would be amazing, but overall, we had a really nice stay.
Great cabin within walking distance to everything in Helen for Octoberfest (as long as you can do the hill to get up to it). We walked everywhere! House had everything you needed and was great for a long weekend getaway with friends. Loved the screened in porch for card game playing, pool table was fun, kitchen well stocked. Owners were very prompt when we needed a code upon checkin to change from heat to AC. Would recommend.
Very well located within walking distance of Helen and all bars, restaurants, and attractions. Place was clean and orderly. Beds and furniture were comfortable. The property is on the side of a mountain so there is a steep grade up to the house. Also, the lodging is upstairs. Probably not the best for mobility impaired guests, but we managed just fine and enjoyed the view and the walk to down town. On the second night while sitting out front on the porch three white tailed deer ambled by. That was special.
The house was so much larger than expected. Loved the outdoor decks. You could sit and listen to the music playing right below or walk a few steps and join in without paying for parking! So close to everything! We enjoyed Helen, drive to Bell Mt, Dukes Creek Falls and Anna Ruby Falls. Went to the Winery, everything is so close. The house was great! Everything you needed was there! Access to the fire pit would have been a plus. Would strongly recommend this property. Dog friendly was nice. Quiet area. Would recommend!
The best part about this home is it’s walking distance to all the shops and restaurants. It is not handicap friendly as you have to climb a steep set of stairs to enter and exit, steep stairs inside to access the master, and it also sits on a hill. It is spacious inside and we loved the large windows and balconies. There were a few bugs during our stay in the kitchen area even in winter, so I would suggest a more aggressive pest control, but it was clean overall. I would also suggest a keyless entry code system so you do not have to carry the key around and have more flexibility to come and go with multiple adults. The property manager was prompt with responses to questions and even was kind enough to mail us back a package that we left on the porch.

Cozy, Comfortable Cabin
The cabin interior was decorated very nicely and it was clean, comfortable, welcoming and keep up. The property listing does not state that the guest does not have access to the ground level area as, once you arrive, signs in the property state that is owner only access. We would not have chosen this property if that was clearly stated in the description since my husband has a difficult time with stairs due to his back (18 stairs to entrance). As other guests stated in their review, limited outdoor access due to "dangerous areas" was disappointing since that included most of the outdoors on the property.
The location and number of bedrooms lead us to pick this location. The location worked out perfectly for 90% of the activities we planned. We walked from the house to downtown Helen everyday. You can walk to all the restaurants and shops within 15 min (max). One of the tubing company’s check-in is right in downtown as well as the mountain coaster. The only traveling in a car we did was the trip to Unicoi State Park and traveling to hiking trailheads. We used a popular “advisor” website to pick our restaurants. There is a steakhouse really close to the house but I would advise skipping it. It’s over priced and overrated. It’s not in the top 10 on the advisor website but we did it anyway because of the convenience (which was a mistake). To chill/hang out while watching the tubers on the river go to the bar/restaurant on the other side of the river. The 4 rooms in the location were as expected. The downstairs setup is especially nice. It is a full living space with a king bed, full bathroom, and its own kitchenette and living room. The main kitchen is well stocked with pots, pans, silverware, plates, glasses, etc.Overall, the place is well kept up except for a few items. The worst being that the exterior landscaping is not kept up and the fire pit area was unusable. There were also a few minor cleanliness issues which were messaged to the host. Nothing major but stuff you wouldn’t want to find while staying anywhere.
