Had a great weekend here. Had everything we needed, comfortable and very clean. Quiet neighborhood. Host was helpful when we had a question. Would definitely stay here again if we get in the area.
Very nice, quiet place. Attached to larger living quarters that was also rented. Bed was comfy. Kitchen was very clean. Will consider this location again.
We had several issues including the fact that we were not given an address for the rental unit and the map directed us to a different location. We spent over an hour searching for it. The toaster was broken the first night and we had to use the broiler instead, a minor inconvenience. There was only a single washcloth and three small bath towels for two people for four nights. The host resolved this by providing a new toaster and additional washcloths the following night. Finally we had difficulty at times opening the lock of the front door and the other renters couldn’t open the laundry room door. This was finally resolved by the host’s suggestion for me to go through the back door to the garage and open it. One major disappointment was that the site advertised the use of a pool but when we got there, we were told that the pool was only for the other unit. That is definitely false advertising. Another frustration was no coffee, no paper filters for the coffee maker and no Kleenex. We had to purchase coffee, creamer, and coffee filters. There was very little dish soap and only a few dishwasher packets provided. The unit itself was cute, clean and comfortable.

Roy! I have to say that I am disappointed with this review of yours. You seemed to really enjoy your stay with us. I have never had anyone ask me for the address of my VRBO rental nor have I had to ask for one because it is provided on the app as I mentioned to you after you went on a wild goose chase which I could've saved you if you had asked prior to doing that and this was your response : «Unfortunately I’m not super tech and wasn’t aware of that and the app gave me a location on a map. So I thought as a geography teacher I could find it.🤪 ». The unit keypad is very easy to operate, nobody has had issues with that before. The laundry room door knob was locked from the inside, which only you had access to, which is why I asked you to unlock it? Furthermore, 3 bath towels (plus beach towels) for 2 people seems enough, you only complained about the washcloths which I understood and we provided those immediately along with a new toaster (sorry things break sometimes) within a few hours the same day. Also, the coffee filter is reusable and integrated into the coffee maker! (which I would have informed you of but you didn’t ask nor mention it to me) no need for filters! I also do not know of many short term rentals that offer free coffee AND creamer for their guests. But, I do have various tea bags in the unit for guests to enjoy. Overall, you overshadowed your last comment « The unit itself was cute, clean and comfortable. », which is the most important of all, with all these very minor things that were really non issues.
I had the worst experience ever at this property. First, I was locked out for an hour with no help from the host — a complete stranger ended up helping me get in because the host was unresponsive. After that, the AC stopped working and never worked for my entire stay. It was actually hotter inside than it was outside, and the issue wasn’t fixed until the day I was leaving. I was sweating and miserable the whole time. The pull-out couch mattress felt like cardboard, and the sheets smelled horrible, like cow manure. It was honestly disgusting. The host was extremely rude, kept bragging about owning other places, yet never once offered to move me to another property or provide any kind of solution. Even the workers who came to fix the AC had negative things to say about the host, which tells you a lot.I will never rent from this host again, and I would not recommend this listing to anyone. Total disappointment from start to finish. Also there were three kayaks but only 1 paddle. Fishing rods were shared with other people and went missing when we used them.

Elydia, I think a lack of communication on your part was definitely an issue here.
Firstly. you didn’t follow directions and locked yourself out then didn’t communicate this to us until 45 minutes went by at which point, I got you back inside within 15 minutes with someone I contacted, not a stranger. That person said you were frazzled and unable to follow the directions provided to get back inside. You were told to use a specific door yet you were strangely trying to enter through the garage doors.
Secondly, we always provide freshly washed sheets and only use natural detergent which basically smells like nothing.
Thirdly, you didn’t request to reserve or use the recreational equipment because if you had, I would have told you where to find the paddles and life jackets in the shed. You just saw the kayaks in the garage and never actually requested to use them.
Lastly, when you first requested how to use the a/c, I provided you with instructions and asked if you would like me to send someone to show you how to use it but you did not reply until the next day which led me to believe you were ok. Not to mention, it was 55 degrees outside and the a/c will not go on at that temperature. When you asked again, I sent someone within the day. As for the a/c workers, I warned them that you were a particularly difficult guest before they walked in, just to assist you as best they could and pacify you.
There will always be that one guest…
