River Stone | Charming Log Cabin Near Florida River, 20 Min to Town, Dogs OK

River Stone (in Forest Grove Estates) is a classic Colorado river cabin is located within a 20-min drive from Durango. In the mountains and near the Florida river, this is a great location while enjoying all that the Durango area has to offer.

Outside, the deck is a great place to enjoy morning coffee or view the starry night skies from the porch swing.  Fall foliage is spectacular with aspen and other seasonal trees surrounding the home, and winter snow creates a unique mountain getaway at this home. Fishing is a hop, skip and jump away across the road. There are many hiking trails in this area, as well.

Inside, the cabin layout includes a full kitchen, living room with fireplace and streaming TV, dining area.  Both bedrooms and bathroom with walk-in shower are also on the main level. We have plenty of family board games for you to enjoy. The cabin also has a washer/dryer.

LOCATION: Our home has shared private Florida river access and access to Treasure Island - a shared community recreation area that's perfect for family fishing outings, picnics, and nature adventures. With Vallecito Lake a 15-minute drive, and Lemon Lake 8-minute drive from our home guests have easy access to robust fishing, boating, and paddle boarding opportunities. This home has very limited cell service.

PETS: This home is pet friendly! We allow a maximum of 2 dogs max and the pet fee is $40/day (for a max $250 per stay). Pets must be crated if they are left home alone. Guests are expected to pick up after their pets.

GOOD TO KNOW:
4WD/AWD required in winter (Thanksgiving through late March).
Outdoor campfires are not permitted in this area

COOLING: Please note that, like most properties in the area, this home does not have AC, as it is uncommon for homes at this elevation. Temperatures inside the property are easily managed by using fans and opening the windows at night when temperatures drop into the 40s.

VRC CANCELLATION POLICY: If your arrival date is within 30 days of booking, payment in full is required at the time of booking. Cancellations or changes to stay dates, including changes that result in a shortened stay, are not permitted within 30 days of arrival, and any such changes will result in a penalty. Cancellations or changes that are made within thirty (30) days of the arrival date, forfeit the entire reservation amount while cancellations made more than thirty (30) days in advance of your arrival only forfeit the $300 payment made at the time of booking. For reservations that are at least thirty (30) nights, the cancellation policy above increases to sixty (60) days prior to the arrival date. We do offer travel insurance.
