About this property
Exclusive holiday home in Sveta Marina, Istria, Croatia - right by the sea
Villa Paula is a uniquely positioned holiday home in the middle of the village, in the old core, so to speak. In 2017 the house was completely renovated and equipped with all the amenities that make for a relaxing and luxurious holiday. Spacious outdoor terraces and well-kept lawns, covered barbecue and cooking area with open fireplace, sufficient parking space directly at the house, 4 comfortable bedrooms, each with sea view, 4 bathrooms, a large, modern kitchen with sea view, living room with fireplace and sea view. The combination of traditional architecture with modern comfort is the great specialty of this house. In the holiday home you can expect comfortably furnished interiors that extend from the ground floor, first floor to the attic (sloping roof to 100 cm). From the well-kept garden you can see the sea from every position.
The house has a rare, very pleasant charm that infects you, that never tires you and always surprises you. It is a pleasure to be in and around the house. Simply ideal to relax and unwind.
The best way to relax from the summer heat is to jump into the crystal-clear water. The beach is below the house. The house has its own "plaza", a concrete deck platform right on the coast (not exclusive, as beaches in Croatia must always be open to the public). The large public beach of the village is less than 3 minutes walk from the house, also directly under the property.
A supermarket and restaurants are located just 350 meters from the house. In a few minutes you can actually walk to everything you need on vacation. The car can stand still….
The region also has a lot to offer in terms of cuisine. We are happy to give you appropriate recommendations on our highlights. There is something for every taste and almost every budget. The town of Labin, about a 10-minute drive away, is the hub of the area. A visit to the historic old town with its churches, narrow streets, shops, museums, galleries, bars and restaurants is always worth a trip. In the city market you can experience the hustle and bustle of the regional vendors, there is fresh local produce, excellent meat and sensational fish.
The picturesque harbor town of Sveta Marina is located in the Kvarner Bay. This part of Istria is known for its Mediterranean climate, its subtropical vegetation and its unique, unspoiled nature. Sveta Marina is located at the foot of the Ucka massif. The seaside resort of Opatija, which was appreciated by Austrian emperors at an early age, is approx. 40 km to the east, approx. 40 km to the west is the coastal town of Pula with its famous amphitheater, in which first-class theater / music performances take place all year round. There is also an international airport here.
This small, former fishing village is far from the major tourist centers of the Istrian peninsula. Time seems to have stopped here. You can still enjoy the tranquility and the original Istria in its best purity. Sveta Marina lives from its simple simplicity, its still preserved, original character. The few old houses testify to the historical history of Croatia. And yet you will find amenities such as a supermarket, restaurants, bars, ice cream parlors, diving schools, a campsite, SUP and boat rental. Without exaggerating, we can say that the water is “crystal clear”. Kvarner Bay is known for its cleanliness and biodiversity. It is not uncommon to see dolphins here - not only on the open sea, but also in the immediate vicinity of the coast, with the naked eye. Playing and playing the dolphins is always a pleasure that you cannot forget.
The beach in the village is still not overcrowded, you never have to fear that you can no longer "put a towel in between". A few minutes walk and you will always find a quiet place to devote yourself entirely to sunbathing. Along the entire coast towards Ravni, the next town in the south, there is a road directly along the sea, past picturesque empty bays. All subsequent bays around Sveta Marina can be easily reached on foot. Sveta Marina is not only predestined for pure relaxation. Sports addicts also get their money's worth here:
Pack your diving equipment:
The diving schools located in Sveta Marina are among the best known and most renowned in Europe. The reefs around Sveta Marina are among the 40 most spectacular in the world !! It is an El Dorado for divers. Hundreds of tourists come to our place every year to learn to dive or to go on free trips with and without trained instructors. The Scuba Center Sv. Marina and the diving center Murena are looking forward to your visit and are happy to help.
Take your bike with you:
... and it doesn't matter whether it's a race bike or an MTB !! You will definitely get your money's worth here. Believe a passionate biker! From the front door to the homecoming - it is a real pleasure to drive here. However, the region really has it in itself and is more suitable for demanding cyclists. Steep climbs, kilometers of paved roads through almost untouched nature, panoramic views over the entire Kvarner Bay, many picturesque towns on the coast or in the hinterland, traditional taverns and gostionas (rustic inns with delicious food and good wine) leave the race biker the heart beat faster. The many hiking trails can also be easily ridden on a mountain bike. The numerous, very well signposted routes that can be called up on your smartphone by the Croatian Tourism Association (incl. GPS / GPX downloads) cover the entire hilly landscape in the region. Almost every spectrum of demands is also available for mountain bikers. Simple roads, demanding trails and even a downhill route in the immediate vicinity.
Would you like to hike .... ??
No problem, just do it. Several hiking trails are in the immediate vicinity of the village. They are easy to find and well signposted and advertised. It is an experience to walk the narrow paths and paths through the densely overgrown forests. You will always be rewarded with great views and picturesque bays.
