Amazing place and host!!

Place and stay was amazing, this beautiful property is located in a great/safe neighborhood. We had a total of 8 guest and had way more space than needed. Host was very fast and professional with his responses. Definitely will be returning again when I am in the area. Thanks Micahel!

House for wedding weekend

The house was perfect for my family's base for our son's wedding. It was 5 minutes from the wedding venue itself and 10 from the rehearsal dinner. The house was large enough for both my sister's and my family to spread out. It is so spacious! The pictures are accurate.

Lovely Home Cheap Furnishings

This home has great bones and has been updated with both homeowner and their guests in mind. The kitchen is spacious and well stocked. We were able to cook and serve our family of six. Sadly, many of the furnishings are cheap and uncomfortable, ie living room sofas and chairs. We found a dirty sock in the sofa cushions and a wet wash cloth in upstairs bathroom. There was also a dirty cup in the study. The owner needs a good exterminator as there are ants and small bugs in the owner suite and in the kitchen. The owner was kurt and rude at departure. We were cleaning out the refrigerator when the cleaning crew arrived promptly at 11 - and I asked them to give us 15 minutes. The owner then called and said it’s 11:09 why are you still in my home. I was shocked at his tone. We left quickly and was out of his home at 11:14. I would not recommend staying at any of his properties as he is volatile and moved from a pleasant professional demeanor in no time at all.

When a guest does not adhere to the published check-out time, it places undue strain on our team and can delay or compromise the experience of other guests who have relied on the promised arrival time. In this instance: Our cleaning crew arrived at 11:00 am as scheduled, and you remained in the home until 11:14. That delay shifted resources and impacted the turnover process for the next guest. While we value that you enjoyed the kitchen and the spacious layout, the late departure and the resulting disruption are not acceptable within our operating standards. Going forward: We will reinforce check-out expectations with all guests and apply stricter enforcement as needed. Our cleaning team’s schedule and the next guest’s arrival deserve equal respect — they are part of how we maintain high standards across all stays. We remain committed to keeping our home well-maintained: we are addressing the furniture quality, the cleanliness items you mentioned, and scheduling pest-control to ensure the property meets our expectations. I’m a proud University of Georgia grad (Go Dawgs!!!) and also studied Finance and Accounting at the University of Virginia. After school, I moved to Atlanta and worked in finance for several years before discovering my true passion: hosting.
I started back in 2015 by renting out a spare bedroom, which quickly grew into remodeling a basement and eventually helping friends and family design their own vacation homes. What began as a side project turned into Host This Home in 2018, where I now get to focus full-time on creating comfortable, memorable spaces for travelers.

I also serve as Treasurer for the Atlanta Metro Short-Term Rental Association, where I work with other hosts to keep Atlanta’s short-term rental community strong and welcoming.

When you stay with me, my goal is simple: to make you feel right at home while enjoying everything our city has to offer.

I picked Decatur because it perfectly blends the best of both worlds: small-town charm with big-city access. Nestled just east of Atlanta, Decatur offers tree-lined streets, walkable historic districts, and a lively downtown square full of independent shops, live music, and fantastic restaurants.

From here, guests can easily hop onto MARTA (or drive) and be in downtown Atlanta or at the airport in no time, while at the same time retreat to the calm, welcoming environment of a friendly neighborhood.

What I love most is that guests can start their mornings with a stroll to a local café, spend afternoons exploring art venues or boutique shops, then return to a peaceful, private setting in the evening. There’s an authenticity here—Decatur doesn’t feel like a tourist zone; it gives you a sense of living here. The sense of community, the walkability, and the local flavor make this neighborhood special.
