Well… not actually a tree house, but you'll feel like you're in one. Nestled behind two huge boulders, on a quiet street, lies this 1938 vintage cabin, with views of tree or sky from every window.
The space: Large living room and open kitchen, with an island that is great for cooking and entertaining. A beautiful restored Wedgewood stove is the centerpiece of the kitchen. There is an old oak pub table, with a unique mica hanging lamp, in the dining area that can extend for seating up to six people (vintage folding chairs available).
Upstairs master bedroom has en suite 1/2 bath, Casper bed, and reading area with a claw foot oak reclining Morris chair. The other bedroom is larger, but is open to the stairwell, so not quite the privacy of the master.
Downstairs bath has a claw foot tub with shower and mosaic tile floor.
Coffee beans and a grinder provided. We have a French press and 4 cup coffee maker also. There is a Gas BBQ on the deck.
Fast 500 Mbs WiFi.
No frilly curtains, kitsch or tchotchkes… just classic cabin!
$50 pet fee per week or portion thereof. As noted in our house rules, pet owners are not allowed to instant book.
Five people allowed if one can sleep on the couch.
This is a 1938 vintage cabin. We do everything we can to make it comfortable AND authentic, but please don’t expect Herman Miller- like dining seating, or hermetically sealed windows. There may be squeaky wood floors and clickety door knobs… but we do promise a unique experience.
Other things to note: We have one air conditioner downstairs and one in the upstairs bedroom that is there only in the summer. There are fans upstairs to move that cool air around. On hot days we open the windows at night and close them in the morning, and the place will stay cool most of the day.

We enjoyed our weekend stay at Twin Rocks. It’s a lovely place, very clean and such nice touches. I enjoyed sitting outside in the front and on the back porch, and all the light coming in from the many windows.
Lovely, homey cabin. Welcoming, comfortable. The trees tower over the back porch and are alive with birds and squirrels. A truly relaxing week in a quiet, comforting embrace of a warm, loving home.

Liked: Cleanliness, property conditions & facilities, communication
For the sake, we walked in to the second we left. They just felt like it was a perfectly staged, comfort nostalgic trough do family comfort. I can’t describe how perfect well built well decorated this place in the property is absolutely beautiful. The twin rock is incredible and I don’t wanna post too much because I don’t want people booking lol I’d like to keep this place all by myself. It is definitely worth a stay.
All was well. It’s a lovely cabin with all the amenities and just a few minutes from town. Very peaceful among the trees from the deck and in the back yard. Nice that it is all fenced in. Felt very comfortable there. Hosts were very responsive. Thanks!
Cute cabin house, feels like a quiet retreat yet still close to town
I had a great weekend away at this gem of a cabin. We had unexpected snow so shifted plans but very much enjoyed this little cabin and would definitely come back. Easy check in and quick response to any questions I had.
Overall a great experience. When we first checked in we noticed the cabin had not been cleaned after the last occupants. I called the owner John and he immediately had the cleaning crew over within 10 minutes and he refunded our cleaning fee. Nice cabin with all the necessities of home, and just a couple minutes from Idyllwild.
Clean and spacious cabin in a good location. The cabin is comfortable and features a large deck with a BBQ, table and seating for 4. Everything was as advertised and in good working condition. The drive to town takes about 3 minutes, we also walked it once and it’s an easy one mile stroll. We ate breakfast and some dinners on the deck where you also get to watch birds and squirrels.Communication with the hosts was quick and efficient. Check-in and check-out were a breeze.
We had a great get-away, loved the back deck! Spent quite a bit of time just listening to the wind, watching the squirrels and blue jays. Just what we needed!
The check-in was easy. Kitchen facilities a bit more rustic than I had envisioned. It would have been nice if the kitchen had a coffee maker. The French press was nice but was only enough for two cups of coffee. All appliances worked well.
We stayed at this adorable cabin to celebrate my daughter's 16th birthday. I have an affinity for old houses and the character built into them, and this one really did not disappoint. Absolutely adorable and super close to town!
The hosts were very easy to reach and communicate with
This cottage is a gem! From the beautiful hardwood floors, to the vintage Wedgewood range, to the art on the walls. The interior is gracious and comfortable and the back deck is private and quiet - perfect for morning coffee, an evening cocktail, or dinner under the stars. The hosts were very attentive - answering our questions quickly and anticipating any needs. My husband and I will definitely stay here again, only this time for more than 2 nights.
