Brand new house with a huge covered terrace and a tropical garden, located a mere 5-minute walk from beautiful blue-flagged beach Playa 88. Located in a neighborhood with tons of local flavor, just 3 blocks from the newer part of the 5th avenue, which is perfect for walks or jogging. The house is owned by 4 Swedish siblings, who have put their hearts into making this a truly amazing home away from home with lots of amenities, such as high-speed WiFi, dishwasher, Nespresso machine and much more.
The space
This gorgeous one-bedroom house sits on a property with two separate units that share the entrance gate from the street, as well as an area to rinse off sandy feet after a day on the beach. There is also an outdoor shower with hot & cold water that both units may use. This unit has a big private backyard with tropical trees and plants, a huge covered terrace with hammocks, a big table and six chairs. A large combined kitchen/living room area has everything you need for a comfortable stay. The bedroom features a closet with plenty of hangers and a safe as well as a super comfy king size bed and AC for those warm tropical nights. There is also a beautiful and spacious bathroom with double sinks. This house is a true home that guests keep coming back to, and can be combined with a beautiful studio on the same property to host up to 6 people.

Other things to note
Mexico in general is NOT quiet, and Playa del Carmen is no exception. It is common in this area to hear dogs barking, music, street vendors, construction noise, etc. It is usually quiet at night though, as there are no bars or night clubs nearby, but if there is occasional noise, please be aware that I won't be able to do anything about it.

Lovely stay

We had a very nice time It is Mexico, so it is loud with music we thought being out of town there would not be as much music, but there is a small church right beside the house that a couple nights was loud, but quiet it down by midnight There is dogs barking a lot, so if that is something that would bother you this would not be the place for you It is a short cab ride awayOr a 30 to 45 minute walk to right downtown The beach playa 88 was a very short walk to a beautiful beach. You have to pay for the washrooms there, but is worse it because they’re very clean. It was only five pesos. You can easily rent bikes to get around or walking or cab one thing with the cabs is I would check before getting in .driver saying 200 pesos to 50 pesos we found that getting off of fifth calle and going up to 10th. The price drops significantly. As for the house, Lisa is a very great host, she’s quick to respond and help in anyway and the people that work for her are very friendly and nice She has everything you need for cooking and it’s comfortable if you want to spend the night in rather swaying in or just hanging on the deck the garden is beautiful We enjoyed watching a little geckos running around The couch is comfortable just to hang back and even watch Netflix movie to have time out The bed is not a bed it’s very comfortable king size You definitely feel safe We had a great time. Perfect location for Best Beach

Lisa is a kind, helpful, and responsive host. Her lovely property is located a very short distance from Playa 88 which is the best beach. We previously stayed at a couple other places near the centre of town and the more famous beaches. Those beaches were always packed and had loud music nearby. Discovering Playa 88 was such a welcome surprise--never packed, great sand and waves. Lisa's property is located some distance from the centre, which in the high heat is difficult to walk, so we rented bikes. The home itself is not air conditioned but the bedroom is and don't let that dissuade you because it chills very quickly. Bring your own shampoo.

Great place, great host.

Had a lovely time staying here. You can really tell the thought that went into it. It’s about a 50-100 peso taxi ride from the main downtown area but only about a 7 min walk to the beach. My favourite was the beautiful gardens that surround the whole place :)

Wonderful Oasis in Playa

Lisa’s place was fantastic in every way. Everything from the immaculate space, tasteful decor, thoughtful touches and great location is well worth the modest price. I walked to the nearby beach where I was delighted to see the pristine white sand shore with the beautiful Caribbean Sea at its best. Will definitely be back and highly recommend this little gem of a place to others. Thank you Lisa!
