Nestled on a tranquil, dead-end street alongside the picturesque Oregon Creek in the distinguished Congdon mansion neighborhood, the GG Barnum Boutique Hotel is an idyllic sanctuary for both business and leisure travelers. The Captain's Quarters sits is a third floor walk up room with views of the trees and creek below, from the moment you walk in you are washed over with a sense of calm and relaxation. The room includes a state of the art Samsung Picture Frame SmartTV that displays beautiful works of art, a fireplace, refrigerator, microwave, and coffee maker, access to Netflix for your comfort and convenience.

Begin your mornings at our delightful coffee bar, where you can savor a variety of delicious pastries while sipping on your favorite brew. As you venture beyond your private space, discover the inviting shared living areas, perfect for enjoying quality time with your traveling companion or engaging in leisurely activities.

Choose from an array of games for some playtime, or select a book from our custom-built bookshelf for a quiet moment of relaxation. The living and dining areas boast a beautiful grand piano, a large dining space, and comfortable seating options to unwind and socialize. Be sure to spend some time in our favorite spot – the impeccably decorated, three-season enclosed porch, ideal for creating lasting memories (please note that this space is not heated during the winter months).

As our guest, you'll have access to our newest addition – a custom-built Heritage Cedar Sauna. Located in our backyard, this inviting Barrel Sauna can comfortably accommodate up to four people, providing a rejuvenating and invigorating experience.

This property is intended for adult getaways, no persons under the age of 16 are permitted. Our guest service team is available by phone from 8am to 9pm if you have any questions or need anything. Our direct contact information will be provided with your booking confirmation. The primary form of communication, including check in information, will be through the booking platform and/or email. You will receive your check in information at 3pm on your arrival date. Check in is at 4pm. Check out is 10am.

VACATION RENTAL HOUSE RULES

1. GENERAL REQUIREMENTS a) All Guests (and any Visitors) must comply with all House Rules and any other instructions from the Property Manager during their stay; and b) Guests must notify the Property Manager of any disputes or complaints from neighbors as soon as reasonably practicable.

2. NOISE AND THE NEIGHBORHOOD a) This Vacation Rental is NOT suitable for children under the age of 16. b) Guests and Visitors must keep noise to a minimum as not to disturb the occupants of neighboring properties and rooms – especially during nighttime hours (10pm – 8am), and upon arrival and departure; c) Excessive noise is prohibited at all times and may result in termination of the vacation rental agreement, eviction, loss of rental paid and extra charges which may be deducted from the Security Deposit;

3. VISITORS a) Guests are allowed a maximum of 2 visitors at any time during their stay. b) Guests are responsible for ensuring maximum visitor numbers are not exceeded; and that visitors are complicit with these House Rules.

4. FUNCTIONS a) Parties and large gatherings of any kind are strictly prohibited at the Vacation Rental; and b) Any small gathering must comply with other rules set regarding Noise, the Neighborhood and Visitor numbers.

5. PARKING a) Guests and any visitors are to comply with parking regulations and other requirements set out below and show consideration to neighbors and other vehicles; please use the designated parking area, up the driveway along the right side of the house to the back of the property.

6. SECURITY a) Any time Guests leave the Vacation Rental, it is their responsibility to ensure all windows and doors are closed/locked to maintain security and prevent rain and water damage. b) Guests must switch off the lights, air conditioning, fans, electronics such as televisions when not in use to promote energy saving.

7. SMOKING a) Smoking is not permitted inside the Vacation Rental or on the private deck attached to the room; b) Smoking is permitted in the back parking lot next to the garage; c) Cigarette butts must be disposed of properly (in large trash cans located outside property or off property all together) and not thrown on property grounds. Failure to do so will result in a deduction from the security deposit.

8. PETS a) Pets are NOT permitted at the Vacation Rental;

9. DAMAGES AND BREAKAGES a) All Damages and Breakages must be reported to the Property Manager as soon as reasonably practicable. Failure to report them will likely result in a penalty deduction from the security deposit. And; b) To avoid Damages and Breakages, no furniture is to be moved from one room to another without prior agreement.

10. CHECK OUT ARRANGEMENTS a) Please be sure to lock all doors. Check out is at 10am - if you need a later checkout please contact me as soon as possible to make arrangements.

11. EMERGENCY CONTACT DETAILS: a) In the event of an emergency relating to the Vacation Rental, your emergency contact is: Heirloom Vacation Rentals (218)409-4885 b) In the event of all other emergencies please call 911.

12. COMPLIANCE a) Breach of any of these House Rules is a breach of the Terms and Conditions of occupancy as per the Rental Agreement. b) The Owner and Manager reserve the right to terminate permission to occupy and to evict from the Vacation Rental, any Guests or Visitors who refuse to follow these House Rules or who cause a nuisance to neighbors or other residents of the community.

My go-to in Duluth
I enjoy staying at the GG Barnum mansion anytime I am visiting Duluth. The Captains Quarters was the perfect space for me. The space was VERY clean and the fireplace was just perfect on a chilly evening.

Quaint Mansion Experience
We really enjoyed our stay. We stayed in the Captain’s Quarters. It’s probably the smallest suite there but it was very comfortable. The staff was very welcoming and helpful. The living room and eating area were a great place to relax and visit with others. It was easy access to Duluth and the area. We would stay again!

Quiet, adequate
Nice quiet neighborhood. A few small issues in bathroom. Hook on back of door needs to be tightened (set screw). Door sticks at top- someone needs to hit the top of door so you can get out! Pedestal sink needs to be better secured. Overall space was nice however I felt overpriced for what it was.

Elegant building in a beautiful neighborhood
Our room itself was nothing special, although we really appreciated the quiet air conditioning. It was pleasant to stay in the mansion and stroll around the neighborhood. Although they don't advertise free breakfast, they did provide some pastries.
