The host responded promptly when we communicated. The house worked well for our family of five couples and is in a good location. It did say there was a lake view but we sure couldn't seem to see the lake from the house. Otherwise all the amenities were there that were advertised.

This was a perfect place for our family group (10 people)! The home is amazing. So many bedrooms (6) and bathrooms (6)! It has antique decor and gorgeous woodwork but still has the charm and comfort of a family home. Bright, cheerful and very well appointed kitchen. Our group spent plenty of time in the billiard room. The front porch was a favorite spot for lunch, snacks or conversation with a glass of wine. The whole place was wonderfully clean. And the location is so close to the places you’d want to see…Canal park, train museum, aquarium and restaurants. Off-street parking is a definite bonus.The host (Gina) was always responsive. All communication was prompt and friendly. She couldn’t have been more helpful. We would highly recommend this beautiful home! We loved our weekend there!

Very clean. Check in easy. Host communicates well, responds quickly, and is accommodating . Safe, convenient location. Perfect for 11 of us. Comfy beds and visiting spaces. The outside porch was especially wonderful for morning coffee and lovely visits. Plenty of sitting space.

Perfect family escape

We enjoyed our stay and spent time out on the front porch just catching up as we sipped our coffee and planed our days. The location is very convenient for heading out to the north shore and when heading down to the downtown area. Good restaurants and coffee shops are nearby. We had an enjoyable stay. The kids loved the house.

Why they chose this property

We began making regular visits to Duluth years ago and fell in love with the landscape, city and all there is to do here - from hiking, sailing, camping and skiing to simply enjoying the sounds of the waves and ships. Our kids fell in love with Duluth on our many adventures here over the years as well, and now attend UMD. We knew that someday we would have to eventually call this place home. While maintaining our current home and this marvelous mansion, we absolutely love it!

When we first moved to Duluth, we lived in the 3rd floor "servant's quarters"of this home, which used to accommodate the house staff. This floor is inaccessible to guests and it is where our daughter and her roommate live. There is no shared space: they have their own back entrance and use the "servant's" staircase to get up to the 3rd floor. Chances are you probably won't even know they are there since they are often at work, studying, or off on a Duluth adventure.

What makes this property unique

When staying at A Charles Weiss Home, the original woodwork throughout the home, along with the antique furniture and decor give you a sense that you have been transported back in time. If you have an old soul, this place is for you!
