About this property
Exquisitely Decorated Inn in Secluded Hills Near Boonville
The Toll House at Whispertree is a historic Boonville landmark built in 1912. A two-hour drive north from the San Francisco Bay Area, this four bedroom home and its accompanying 650 acres of land are conveniently located along the Boonville-Ukiah Road just five miles from the unique town of Boonville in Anderson Valley. The Toll House offers easy access to local wineries, events (including the Mendocino County Fair and the Pinot Noir Festival), and the award-winning Anderson Valley Brewing Company.
The new owners of the Toll House renovated the Inn in 2009. Decorated in a rustic yet modern and tasteful style, the Toll House was run as an Inn for a year until it became, exclusively, a whole-house rental. The Toll House has 4 bedrooms, 4 1/2 baths and can sleep up to 12 people. The Toll House's charm immediately captivates with the inviting wrap around porch and lush and spacious rear yard and garden. The rooms are inviting, warm and comfortable with wonderful views of the valley. The living room offers a cozy yet spacious gathering place with fireplace and views into the gardens. The dining room, with a large oak table made from trees from the Bell Valley, gives families and guests lots of room to enjoy an evening meal while looking out on the garden. The farmhouse kitchen is one-of-a-kind with natural lighting, all the necessary appliances, and a magnificent commercial stove and oven. The Inn sits on hundreds of secluded acres excellent for hiking, exploring, or finding the perfect spot for a relaxing afternoon picnic. There is a large cedar hot tub in the back yard and a private swimming pond a short hike away.

About the host
Hosted by Kendra McEwen

After visiting the Valley for years, Jon and Karin were married in Philo and have loved the Valley's simple, down-to-earth beauty since their first visit.
Why they chose this property
As a weekend getaway, the Valley never fails to provide relaxation and the feeling of having truly left the hustle and bustle of daily life, returning freshly renewed.
What makes this property unique
Access to the charming and eccentric town of Boonville. Great dinner out at the Boonville Hotel and lots of wonderful local events that support the farming community. A small but much cherished farmers market on Saturdays and the drive into the Valley itself, especially on 128.
