About this property
Exquisite 18th Century Cottage in a Picture-Perfect Village
Chilli Cottage is a recently restored and refurbished characterful, late 18th century, 3-Bedroom Cotswolds-stone cottage in the heart of Bourton-on-the-Water, brimming with original features, and with private parking for one car (a rarity in the centre of Cotswolds villages).
The cottage is on a tranquil lane less than a minutes' walk from the centre of the Bourton-on-the-Water, renowned as the most beautiful village in all of the Cotswolds, yet conveniently set back from the lively village centre.
Chilli Cottage is furnished to exceptionally high standards, in a style faithful to its period and Cotswolds character. It features a cosy living room with a log -burner, antique furniture and bespoke furnishings, and a traditional country kitchen with a farmhouse AGA cooker.
The cottage has three charming bedrooms, each with a King Size bed (150cm x 200cm), to cater for 6 guests in total.
The master bedroom has an on-suite bathroom (with a shower). There is a further bathroom (with bathtub/shower). The cottage has a private rear courtyard to enjoy a morning coffee or an afternoon drink.
The cottage is set over 3 floors:
- Ground Floor: Living, dining, and kitchen areas, and an outdoor courtyard. - First Floor: two bedrooms, and a separate bathroom. - Second Floor: bedroom with en-suite bathroom.
Due to Chilli Cottage grand old design, the stairs are narrow and steep (see photo gallery). If any of your party are unsteady on their feet, or have limited mobility, this may not be a good choice of accommodation.

A fabulous gem in the heart of Bourton on the Water. Beautiful and very comfortable. This really was an ideal place to switch off with some lovely local walks nearby. We stayed for our 10th wedding anniversary and we couldn’t have asked for more.
Am an passionate about travel, exploring, and adventure. Addicted to healthy eating and good physical and mental wellbeing. An orthodontist by profession.
Why they chose this property
My family and I fell in love with the Cotswolds on an extended trip a few years ago. Whereas perhaps there are places in England whose beauty mostly shines in the spring and summer, the Cotswold's beauty is mesmerizing all year round: historic villages untouched for centuries, lined with cottages built with honey-coloured local stone, warmed within by log fires, look as romantic and atmospheric draped in snow as they do bathed in the summer sun.
