Great place! Tranquility was abundant as well as stuff to explore. Very comfortable and clean as advertised. The only thing we regret is not being able to stay a 3rd night.
We loved the Dome Home. I think anytime you stay somewhere other than your home there will be adjustments. We stayed 3 nights with our 2 dogs and loved every minute of it. We went just to get away from life and be able to relax for a few days. The bedroom is such a cool room we never wanted to leave. Really comfy bed. TVs are nice. There isn’t cable which was an adjustment, but we ended up watching Netflix all weekend which was a treat. The bedroom being upstairs and bathroom downstairs is weird to me, but I understand why it’s that way. I got up in the middle of the night to take the dogs out anyway so it wasn’t a problem at all. There doesn’t seem to be a lot to do in Grand Bay, but we found some fantastic walking trails in Mobile to take the dogs and they had a blast. Mobile is about 20-30 minutes away so very close to lots of places to eat and stuff to do. We cooked all of our meals since we had the dogs and didn’t want to leave them. The kitchen was well equipped and we had no problems there at all. A decent selection of plates, bowls and silverware were available. We definitely give the weekend a 10/10. It was a great first experience with Vrbo!
The location was remote, the scenery was beautiful, plenty of privacy, and amazing natural crystals scattered around the property made for a wonderful surprise around every corner. Pictures can’t hold a candle to the look and feel of the inside of The Dome Home. Amazing architecture throughout the house, motion activated color changing lights guide your walk along the elegant stairway. The home is set up with everything you might need for your stay. If bringing your pet, a large dog bed, bowls, and a huge yard await you and your fur baby. I was not ready for how stunning the inside of the home is while maintaining a down home feel. The down stairs holds a fully stocked kitchen, fully stocked bathroom with huge garden tub and walk in stone shower with the waterfall head, the laundry room, and living area with large flat screen tv decked out with background lights that set the mood for any occasion. As you make your way up the stairs the motion activated lights start guiding your way with a soft light show, to your right is an office bedroom with a full size futon and plenty of bedding. Going straight you will find yourself in the climax of the exquisite home, the master bedroom. As you walk into the room it gives a feeling that heavens gate has opened as the ceiling expands to show an elaborate crows nest in the upper corner of the room, also decked out with color changing lights that sets the ambience of your stay. The bedroom itself has two large chairs for conversations, a large flat screen tv with backlighting, a large chest of drawers, and the most comfortable king size bed I’ve ever slept on. A doorway at the end of the room leads to the crows nest. The door was locked on my stay but I could see a wrap around bench so you can enjoy the observatory roof. The wrap around porch was private and ambience set by colored string lights. All in all the house was a highlight of our trip and we will be staying again next time we are in the area. The owner was friendly, reached out to us to make sure we had no questions, and he let us change our minds and bring our dog at the last minute with no opposition or hesitation. Wonderful home to stay in and gorgeous rocks and crystals, by Off The Grid, were amazing boredom busters for the kids. I highly recommend this home for a uniquely private stay that will leave you wondering how that packed so much beauty into one place.
