We felt so special staying in such a beautiful home! It was well stocked and laid out perfectly for a wonderful family time. Nice neighborhood. We felt perfectly safe.
The stay was very enjoyable and comfortable. My 92-year-old mother wanted a trip to SC and the house provided the amenities for a comfortable stay. The house was very spacious, and the large dining room allowed for both a private workspace for my husband during the day while we enjoyed the rest of the house and it provided a wonderful space for dinner with the family. We also appreciated the basic condiments that was provided, and the front porch was wonderfully enjoyed.
The outdoor memorial Historic site of Briggs vs Elliott was also enlightening, and we look forward to the opening of the Briggs vs Elliott National Historic Museum sponsored by Scott's Branch Alumni Association 5 minutes away on the Main Street/Gov Richardson Road. Thank you for making our stay pleasant.
We didn’t realize the bedrooms was all upstairs until after we arrived. We are all over 70. Lol but we made it.
The front porch was a lot if plolken could have been hosed down. If we were a younger group it would have been more pleasant. Not your fault. Just did not see where bedrooms were
Thanks
I was satisfied with the house but we did have someone knocking on the door at 9 AM Saturday 7/29 looking for someone. It makes u feel a bit uneasy for the rest of the stay when someone comes to a house u are staying and you are not familiar with the area. The person rang the doorbell, was yelling someone's name and even turned the door knob to open the door (thankfully the door was locked).
I reserved the home on short notice fto attend a funeral. The host kindly allowed me to check in two hours early. We drove by the house twice because it does NOT look as well kept as the pictures show. Upon entering the home, we were greeted with a stale smoke smell that took a large can of Lysol spray to mask. We were disappointed to find that there is only one TV in the house that is in the living room that has a large stained, soiled, and torn couch.
Around 10pm the first night, we decided to leave after the service, so I messaged the Hist to let her know that we'd be checking out early (1 night vs 3 nights). I called and spoke with the Host following the sevice as there were no response to my message on the VRBO app. She stated she'd texted me that morning and had initiated the adjustment and refund process. I called her back and sent texts for several weeks with no response. I called VRBO to request help to no avail. I finally received a call from another "colleague" of the Host who stated she would be assisting me with the refund. Based on thise conversations, I would receive the refund June 16, 2023. A few days before the the 16th, I received a message on the app from the Host stating the deposit would be made on July 3, 2023. I have not received any deposits, refunds, etc or follow-up calls, texts or messages.
I DO NOT recommend this home (especially for someone with respiratory conditions). I DO NOT recommend this Host. BE WARE!!!
