This OFF GRID, cozy home has awesome ocean & volcano views.

Here in Kalapana, the Wind, Sky, New Earth, Pacific Ocean and vast vistas of Hawaii Volcanoes National Park converge.

The residence is fully functional, has good Internet and cell coverage.

Covered decks amaze with views of sunrise-sunsets, starry nights and moon rises over the Pacific.

Rainbows abound.

Experience healing energy, romance and peaceful tranquility.

This home is OFF GRID, Solar Powered and fully functional.

The first floor comprises the Bedroom with a Queen Bed and its adjacent bathroom.

The lux soaking Tub is located in the open air, yet with a private rear lower deck.

Upstairs, the open Kitchen/Living area couch converts to a queen size bed with comfortable memory foam, accommodating 4 total.

To the rear of the property is a separate enclosed bathhouse with a hot shower.

* Fully stocked with Coffee, Tea, Sugar, Honey, Creamer; Olive Oil, Balsamic Vinegar, Spices; Shampoo, Conditioner, Bodywash; Bath & Beach Towels, Fresh Clean Linens ~ all provided.

There's parking space for 2 cars at the front of the house. It's best to use a car when driving around.

People like their privacy in this neighborhood, it's not really for walking around.

The Hakuma House - an off-grid two story-house gem - is situated on the Kalapana lava beds near the base of the Kilauea Volcano. Prepare to be blown-away! Besides being the sunniest, driest part of the island, you are surrounded by sweeping views of the volcano, the ocean, and black lava fields as far as the eye can see. Yet it’s very close to festive farmers markets, black sandy beaches, and gorgeous coastal drives. Enjoy this elemental vortex unlike any other!

Definitely rent a car. We have some for rent, so feel free to inquire. There are two parking spots for the house.

** Please note:
We understand this place is not for everyone.

If you are wanting a touristy, resort / hotel experience, this is not it.
If you are wanting an elemental, off-grid, off-the-beaten-path and unique experience, then this is a great place.

As we are off-grid, we do ask people to be conservative with power after dark (you can use and charge all your devices, just please don't leave lights on all night long, and only use the washing machine during daylight hours).

Also, you may see an occasional gecko or 2. They are harmless, very cute, and are considered good omens actually.

Be sure to visit Hot Foot Photography owned by Gary Sleik, the artist who took the photographs of the lava flow you see in the home.
