Perfect base for castles and mountains
We used this as a home base before touring the local castles as well as going into the Alps. Leichtenstein, Switzerland, and Austria are all easily accessible from here if you don't mind a few hours drive on a day trip. You can also walk to the lake behind the neighborhood. I'm sure it's lovely in the summer but even in the snow-less winter, it was pretty. Driving in the area is very easy...though parking in Fussen can be a little tricky, especially if you have a larger vehicle. There's a lot of restaurant choices in the 10 minutes around the area too. You could probably walk to many of them if the weather is good (we were there in January.)
The house is very comfortable. The kitchen has every utensil and baking dish you can imagine. (Though the knives weren't very sharp.) My kids loved the pingpong table -- teens so we didn't mind ditching them after a long day and going to Schwangau or Fussen for dinner while they played pingpong and stared at their phones!
The place is very clean and the host very helpful. I'd definitely recommend this house to anyone interested in the area.
