About this property
Klimas Bavarian House Rental
Enjoy a peaceful vacation with your friends and/or family at our Austrian /American home in beautiful South Bavaria. The village of Trauchgau/Halblech is situated on the picturesque Romantic Street, 7 Miles from the famous castles of King Ludwig.
Our home is located in a quiet and peaceful town. It is completely safe to take long and relaxing walks through our picturesque and rural town.
The Space
Our large and gorgeous home features a two story apartment which offers one bedroom (with queen bed) and a living room with a sleep couch (2 kids or 1 adult). The apartment could be separated from the rest of the home for those who wish extra privacy. Also upstairs is our spacious 2nd Master Bedroom with use of a Cal King Bed. A connecting bathroom leads to a bedroom with 2 single beds. On the ground floor we have a bedroom with a European size double bed that sleeps two. There is also a large bath with walk-in shower on the ground floor that is handicap accessible. Downstairs in the cellar is our electric sauna and laundry facilities. Bring the entire extended family and rent the whole house, which sleeps up to eight. We can also offer a child’s room, plus possibly a pack and play for a baby. WE RENT BY THE WEEK ONLY.
Guest Access
Accommodations/ Amenities include heated floors, fireplace (german style kamine- wood burning stove), free WIFI, washer/dryer, sauna, and free calls to the USA. Our Garden and outside Gazebo are always open to guests. Incoming calls are accepted at +(phone number hidden).
Interaction with Guests
We will have a "House Mother" on premises who will have the keys and familiarize the guests with the Apt. She will not, however, stay in the house with your group.
The Neighborhood
In the winter, after a fresh snowfall, the town will plough a fresh x-country skiing track that is practically at our back door. This is free for all to use. There are equipment rental places in Schwangau, approximately 7 km away.
Also located around our area is the historic city of Füssen (~8 miles); Oberammergau (~21 miles) which is the location of the world famous, Passion Play; the past winter Olympic locations, Garmish-Partenkirchen (~34 miles) and Innsbruck (~70 miles); King Ludwigs’s castle, Lindenhof (~30 miles), which is also known as “Little Versaille” and happens to be the only castle that he completed within his lifetime; Legoland located in Günzberg (~hour and a half drive); and of course, Munich (also an hour and a half drive ~69 miles). We also have a number of ski resorts close by; Buching, Tegelberg, Nesselwang, and a few within a half hour drive just over the border in Austria.
When the weather warms up our area also offers greating hiking and mountain biking trails. There is also an outdoor pool in walking distance from our home, "Alpin Freibad".
Getting Around
There is a bus that will take you up the Romantic Street, making stops in neighboring towns such as Buching, Schwangau, and Füssen.
Other Things to Note
Also offered in this peaceful area are seasonal outdoor markets, enthralling Christmas markets, beautiful concerts in churches, sleigh rides, the Kristall Therme with warm healing waters for relaxation, or invigorating walks/hikes through our beautiful mountains. Mountain biking trails are also plentiful in our area.
We also offer a disabled friendly room and wheelchair accessible bathroom.
We rent for a minimum of a week with no maximum.
House rules
No smoking, unless out of doors.
No pets
Respect the house mother, house and the neighbors!

About the host
Hosted by Heiko and Judy

We (K. family) have lived in southern Bavaria for the past 6 years to take care of an older gentleman that has recently passed away. We wish to keep our house in Bavaria but our working opportunites are in the States at the moment. My two girls were born in Germany and we would love to go back someday. In the meantime we need to rent our house to help pay the mortage.
Heiko - Chiropractor; Judy- Mother of 2 girls!

Why they chose this property
This house is wonderfully bright and charming. My husband chose this property when we moved to Germany from the states because its close to the border of Austria where he was born. My two girls were born here and we love our little town of Trauchgau. It feels like a little protected corner of the world.
What makes this property unique
We love to spend time on our balcony and look at the views through our garden to the mountains.
