Absolutely beautiful home, and the host was so communicative. The rooms were spacious, I love the care that's going into renovating this historic home, and we had everything we needed to be comfortable during homecoming weekend. We come back to Rochester to visit friends rather often, so we'll certainly be checking back for availability if we need to stay over. Thank you so much! We'll absolutely be back!
This is a very nice house in a historic neighborhood in Rochester. The ceilings are very high, hardwood and stained glass, you get the idea. It's a very "Rochester" house in that regard. The owner has done many thoughtful upgrades in the bathrooms and kitchen, while leaving older pieces that add charm and character, such as original radiators and fireplaces. Our stay was pleasant and free of issues except for a small delay at check-in; the side door electronic lock was not working properly. We were able to sort it out and there were no issues after that. Kamilah was responsive to requests, any delays were due to the VRBO chat program not working properly. We were very busy on this trip and didn't spend much time in the house except in the evenings to sleep, and in the mornings. The kitchen was suitable for making breakfast, and we did have a family dinner in the dining room on our last day. There are plenty of plates and utensils. Overall a very pleasant stay. I'm from Rochester and I grew up in an older home like this one, so maybe I was feeling nostalgic. But I would say if you're okay with older style houses, you will like this place.
This property was exactly as pictured! There was plenty of room for my family socialize, eat, and sleep. The kitchen is nicely updated with everything you could need to cook a meal. Everything was clean and neat. There is street parking in addition to the driveway and the neighborhood is very nice.
The owners are renovating the property and have added modern touches while retaining the historical details. The rooms are large and comfortable and the kitchen is nicely updated. Close to everything in an attractive neighborhood. We had snow and they were quick to dig us out and responsive when contacted.
This revitalized Mansion was a comfortable spot for us to stay for a family visit. The comforts of home in a clean and well equipped gem of a home. The historical feel of the architecture was an added bonus! Host was very responsive and welcoming!

Hello! I'm a local professional working in the design field. I have spent the last 2 years pouring love into this house by renovating every room. It brings me so much joy to share my space with other families because of the rare architectural details within the spaces of this home.
Why they chose this property
I love the city of Rochester, and the nature that surrounds it. This property stood out to me because of the park setting that's just outside of the front door. And the beautiful neighboring houses, nearby tennis courts, walking trails and waterfall are all within a stone's throw. It's a beautiful place to live.
What makes this property unique
The architectural craftsmanship of this home is totally unique. There are stained glass windows with the original family crest, a large archway over the living room, and what really amazed me was the grand staircase. I also love the modern changes that coincide with the traditional rooms. Having a formal dining room and fireplaces really add a charm to the place.
