Liked: Check-in
Disliked: Cleanliness, listing accuracy
This house was a total disappointment.
It started when we pulled up and saw the patched, mismatched siding. The next issue is we thought the windows all needed cleaning. What we soon realized that the seals in almost all windows had failed. Because of these failures you could not see out the windows. Plus, you wanted to keep the window shades closed to cover the extensive scale build-up on the windows. The sliding doors have to be forced to open and close, most of the screen doors wouldn’t work either. While the cleaning crew does the surface cleaning, the whole house needs a deep cleaning. The tops of the mop board were filthy, the jet areas in the tub have black mold. We spent our first couple of hours buying cleaning supplies and cleaning. In this split tri-level there are multiple issues. First off, you have to go downstairs from the Master bedroom, level three, to use the bathroom on level two. Rather dangerous in the middle of the night. The next issue had to do with heating three levels. We stayed in Winter; level three was a sauna and the bedrooms on level one were freezers. The kitchen is a place where old kitchen sets go to die. In a drawer of 15 knives, only one could hacks it way through a lime. There were 20 pots and pans, but try to find a matching lid. The light over the stove was out. Who puts a single fluorescent light over the kitchen sink? Tackiest thing I’ve ever seen in my life. As we say in the west about an abused horse, “This house has been rode hard and put away wet.”

Vacation and issues
The house was fun to stay in, however I didn’t realize that there where a few stairs to get from the bedroom downstairs to the bathroom as we stayed on the upstairs level I prefer a walk in shower rather than climbing in the downstairs shower bath was easier to maneuver so the house is no good for older people with bad knees etc. The house itself was very nice. Vacasa was another frustration we where given different instructions on how to get into the house once we arrived. Having to speak to people in Belize and Texa as well as Portland Organ. To get a package with the address and the gate pass which they didn’t know we needed. We finally arrived at the house to see the cleaner was there, she was waiting on someone to come and pick up some boxes and so we couldn’t enter the house until she confirmed house was ready so we had to wait again. The cleaner had said there where a few problems with Vacasa as I’d many other residents on the Island because there wasn’t any local staff. We actually had to leave the resident earlier due to Ian the Hurricane storm which was due to land Wednesday we left on the Tuesday stayed overnight in a hotel as we had a long trip back to Nashville we do have the holiday insurance so hope to get reimbursed for the days we lost Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday I hope that Vacasa will get its act together and have a local resident who would deal with future vacationers

Our Thyme
We enjoyed our stay at “Our Thyme” very much, mostly everything was great. The only thing we noticed was that there were some large bugs in the beach house, not roaches though. It really didn’t bother us too much but it might be an issue with other guests. Also, the night before we were to leave the people in the beach house next to us were playing their music very loudly and were just loud guests in general. Since we were leaving the next day we didn’t say anything but thought y’all might want to know. Thank you for your interest. Overall it was great.
