Shore Thing - gorgeous home with lots of space, one short block from the beach!

We have some exciting news! The owners are putting in a pool. Construction began on 4/28/2025. The backyard will be closed to guests until it’s complete. Construction of the pool will still take place when guests are staying at the home, workers may be present during the day and there may be some noise associated with the work being done.

Welcome to the Shore Thing Beach Retreat! This beautifully renovated home has 4 bedrooms. Upstairs you will find the kitchen, living room, and 2 bedrooms (both with a king bed). Our kitchen is well equipped with everything you need to cook a meal for your family. You can relax on the comfortable sofas after a long day of exploring downtown or the beach. Downstairs there is one bedroom with two queen beds (and an en suite bathroom) and one king bedroom.

This property is located one block off the beach, with a short walk to the dune walkover. It's also not far from the historic downtown area.

The history of St. Augustine is incomparable with almost any other on our coast. Founded in 1565 it is chock full of amazing places to visit, from the oldest house to the first schoolroom, to the impenetrable fort built by the Spanish. Lincolnville, just south of downtown St. Augustine takes you on a walking tour of the history of the civil rights movement noting where Martin Luther King stayed on numerous occasions. Needless to say, there’s also so many unique shops, and the restaurants are so varied and truly have an international flavor! There are things to do no matter the weather! You can take a free boat ride to Fort Matanzas and learn the history about the battles fought. Further south is Marineland where you can swim with dolphins!

The St. Augustine and St Johns County area have a great variety of golf courses for players of every level and skill. There are always concerts at St. Augustine Amphitheatre and events at Francis Field as well. You will never run out of things to do here in St. Augustine. It is probably one of the most beautiful places in all of Florida, and for sure one of the most photographed! Come and see for yourself!

The cleaning company provides a limited amount of basic necessities (toilet paper, trash bags, dishwasher/laundry soap, etc.) to get you started, you will want to bring some with you. Garbage and recycling must be taken out to the street Sunday night for Monday morning pickup.

We don't offer refunds or reschedule stays during hurricane season, even if there is an evacuation order. Please purchase trip insurance for your stay if this is a concern.

Block from beach

The house is a short walk to the beach and made for ease of an enjoyable beach day. Many restaurants, grocery stores, are all within 10 minutes and an easy drive. The house was comfortable and spacious for the group. The owners were responsive and kind during our stay. We would stay here again.

Home is spacious and exactly as decribed, very clean and comfortable. Only recommendation i would make would be to replace the singleserve keurig with a larger dispenser, just a personal preference

We enjoyed our stay. The house was nice and comfortable. Large tv's in each room. It took us about 5 minutes to walk to the beach. We'll definitely keep this rental on our list of vacation spots.

House was even better than the listing. Our toddler loved the back porch and we didn’t have to worry about stairs. Everything we needed in the kitchen. We are a picky group about beds and pillows, all were excellent. One of our best ever rentals.

Florida Girls needed to visit & relax!!!!

A short stay to visit local friends. I recommend longer!!!! This home was amazing with split sleeping and open kitchen, living and dining area. The veranda surrounds the entire upper floor and was a great area to hangout. So relaxing and just a quick stroll to the beach. Sun rise was unbelievable! Will be staying here again!!!!

Great location to walk around the corner to the beach. House has all the basic necessities for a vacation. Management and staff very prompt to answer questions. Loved looking for all the gopher turtles in the neighborhood and on the boardwalk to the beach! Neighbors friendly too!

Holiday Get Away

Family flew in from New York to celebrate the start of the holiday season. we could not have picked a better house or location. The description was right on point, the house was not only spotless, but so spacious for all of us, with a television in every bedroom something you never see or get. A block from the beach and less than 10 minutes from all the activity in downtown Saint Augustine. This was a win for us! We will definitely go back.

LOCATION! SUPER CLEAN! WONDERFUL!

Our experience at this house was 150% wonderful! My wife and I brought our 4 kids to St Augustine for spring break and this house was perfect for us. Exactly like it was listed and even prettier in person. The hosts had the house stocked with kitchenware, towels, and everything we would need to feel at home. Not the mention, SUPER CLEAN!! The house is SO close to Butler Beach. We walked down there several times a day even with a 1 year old who recently learned to walk. The neighborhood was quiet and the people around us were all very nice. I recommend staying in this house to anyone who loves visiting the beach and feeling at home while on vacation. I cannot say enough wonderful things!

Be prepared, to be prepared

Overall the property was fine. However, the place is very bare bones. Towels and linens are worn, hand soap is provided (but bring everything else-including toilet paper). The outside balcony looks over brown grass and an old gas tank. You can see the neighbors swimming. You do get a small slice of the ocean between the houses. Ocean access is not far, but you’ll have to purchase chairs. They do not provide. And be mindful of the stairs. If you’re traveling with older people you will have to navigate stairs, both inside and out. It’s fine, but be prepared to be prepared.

Good Location

This house is very close to the beach which was very nice. Quick walk with all of our chairs and tent. The house was fine, the 2 lower bedroom are right at the carport, so you literally walk out of the bedroom and the car is right there. Walls were paper thin so whoever sleeps in the bottom bedrooms, plan to be woken up anytime someone enters the house or walks around the kitchen / living room. The back porch is nice. There are not many bath towels so you might want to bring your own. Also bring your own toilet paper because we were left with half rolls when we checked in. I know a lot of that stuff was said in the listing but I’ve never stayed somewhere and not had this stuff provided. Mistake on my part for not being more prepared. To summarize, this is ideal for being close to the beach and in a safe area.

Bright House

We are two retired couples that spent 17 days at the house. Neighborhood felt safe and is a watch community. The beds were comfortable and pillows fresh. Loved the 55”/65”/75”Samsung TVs in every bedroom and LR. House was as advertised, bright, clean and spacious (albeit floors were not properly cleaned). Owner/manager was responsive to the 2 main floor shower’s lack of water pressure (and also washing machine cold/hot water connections were reversed) but we ended up waiting 7 days for simple repairs due to maintenance crew emergency family matters, this was not acceptable. Kitchen has fundamental necessities and could easily accommodate 12, but was missing some small appliances (e.g. potato peeler, hand held mixer, etc.) and single cup Keurig coffee machine works intermittently. Basement bedroom is missing fire alarm (wires hanging from ceiling). Beach is clean and 1 block from house. Perfect beach to ride our e-bikes at low tides and SR-A1A has bike lanes and sidewalks (for bikes).

This lovely open concept home accommodated our family of seven perfectly. It was nice to have three large ensuite bedrooms and another bedroom for kids. The host and owners were in easy contact to make sure we enjoyed our stay. Best of all, the wide and not too crowded beach was just a short walk away!

Cleanliness not as expected

This house was in a great location, close to the beach and in a quiet neighborhood. The upstairs of the house had a good layout, however the downstairs was not ideal. One very large bedroom had its own bathroom, but the other “bedroom” appeared to be a former storage room that had been converted to a bedroom with a door leading straight out to the carport. The house is older, but the kitchen and bathrooms have been renovated and were nice. The cleanliness of the house is definitely lacking and not what I would expect for a house that was rated highly for being clean. We have stayed in several rental homes and cleanliness is one of the most important things to me. This house did not meet my standards for clean. The furniture, floors, walls and baseboards were dirty. There were lots of dust bunnies and debris in corners and around/behind the furniture. The dining room chairs were not the same chairs as pictured in the listing and were very dirty and grimy, we didn’t even sit at the table much because of the chairs. We saw roaches in the bathrooms, which was concerning to me. The host was responsive when I contacted them and they sent the exterminator out.There is a pool being installed in the backyard, which will be nice. Hopefully it will be maintained better than the house.

Girls trip

Beautiful home with plenty of space. We didn’t spend a lot of time at the house. It seemed to have everything you would need if you were cooking in. It has easy access to the beach, and it was a great beach for walking. Easy drive into St Augustine for dinner, and to check out the city. Several state parks in the area if you enjoy activity.
