This was complete false advertising. We booked this “new 2 bedroom cottage” that stated it slept 7 on a beautiful lake. The directions we got sent to find the rental started off with unclear instructions on how to find the rental. After finally locating it we pulled up to a garage that had worn down stairs leading up to the mother in-law suite. There is no cottage. The lake was beautiful, and that is all this place has going for it. Right when we opened the door we realized the pictures used on the site were very deceiving. Black mold in the corners of the rooms and covered the inside mini fridge, dead bugs and dust that had been sitting for weeks untouched. It smelled like stale mildew. We reached out to the rental owner stating this is an unfit place to stay. The owner proceeded to tell us that his maid had just cleaned the place. I told him you were lied to by your maid. This place had not been touched by a cleaner. We asked for a refund after realizing this place was not going to be properly cleaned and were denied a refund, while the place sat empty for the dates we rented it. The host said he would send the maid in to work on it, but I told him there is no way she could clean all the black mold from the place to make it safe to stay. Further, it says “sleeps 7”, turns out a chair with a foot rest was the 7th “bed”. This listing is a hoax with a very unfriendly owner who is deceiving future renters with his listing.
