Brand new Luxury Apartment in the apartment building 'Black Pearl' for rent in downtown Reykjavik.

Perfectly located in the center but still away from the noise. There are only 1-2 minutes’ walk to the harbor and the old town with gourmet restaurants, coffee houses, trendy bars and the main shopping street 'Laugavegur'. It is very close to excursions travel company which is perfect for going on wide range of day tours (whale watching, the golden circle etc.).

The apartment has a living room with sleepingsofa, fully equipped kitchen, bathroom and 1 bedroom. Spacious balcony facing south with view to the old town.

Amazing location in a beautiful city!

Our stay in Reykjavik was fantastic, thanks to our beautiful apartment and our amazing host, Helga. Helga answered ALL of my questions and had someone meet us at the apartment the day of our arrival. The apartment was spotless, comfortable the location...PERFECT! The whole city is right out your front door. Bars, restaurants, grocery stores, and beautiful sights are, literally, right outside your door. Iceland is the most beautiful country I have ever visited, and I would, without hesitation, stay at this gorgeous apartment when I return.

Nice apt in city... easy to get everywhere!

We had a nice stay in the apartment. It was clean, and just as it appears in photos. It is not a big space, but it had everything one would need! We were a little concerned that it was further away from some of the attractions in the city, but when you get there, you realize how small Reykjavik really is. From this apt to the big church is probably .8 mile... so everything is close by. Bus Stop 4 is the closest and it is about 3 blocks down the street. Easy to get to. Also, Reykjavik bus system is easy to learn and has a great app. Use it!

Our stay was okay, I use VRBO a lot and this was not one of my best experiences.

I felt the place could have been cleaner, dirty cups in the cupboard, bed cover was dirty and the floor was not swept.The bathroom had a main light and a vanity light. The main light was broken when we arrived and we let the owner know. She said it would be fixed the next day. This never happens so in a country that has not a lot of daylight in the winter, we found it hard to see in the bathroom. It is a great location for sure .

Fabulous!

Arrived in Reykjavik early prior to being able to check in. Nevertheless this did not pose problem as building was accessible even though apartment was not. Located near everything we wanted to see. Apartment on 4th floor. Pretty quiet. Manager was very accessible and responsive to our inquiries. Our only challenge was the stove we just weren’t sure how to work the Iceland stove! Apartment was immaculate as well. Definitely a great place.

Fantastic VRBO!

My wife and daughter and I stayed three nights in August 2019. Helga was communicative, flexible, helpful and overall great to work with. The VRBO is in a perfect location - walkable restaurants and shops out the front door. The VRBO itself was clean, modern, furnished very well and met all our needs. We’ll stay there again when we visit Iceland.

Great Apartment in Downtown Reykjavik

Loved the apartment. It’s location, which is a very short walk to downtown Reykjavik, is excellent. The apartment itself is clean, modern and nicely furnished. The kitchen is well supplied (including coffee in the cabinets, which was a nice touch). The bedroom with a large, comfortable bed and living room with a futon-style sofa that converts into a bed is perfect for a couple or family with 2 children. (It might be a little tight for 4 adults.) The quite balcony is great for breakfast or a late afternoon coffee or tea (we were there in June). Great apartment and location but no washing machine!

The only reason not to give this apartment 5 stars is that it didn't have the stated washing machine. We had been travelling for a few weeks and were gong to keep travelling after our stay, so this was one of the main reasons we rented the apartment. There WAS a laundry in the basement with a washing machine and dryer for our use (after we enquired), but they were both always full of other laundry. After 4 attempts to use the washer we reluctantly removed the other washed laundry. Besides this issue, the apartment was great...a very convenient location, well equipped and very comfortable. It would have been perfect if we could have had the convenience of a washer/dryer in the apartment as stated in the description, without going up and down the lift all the time to check if it was available. Luxe appartement, wat zeer efficiënt verhuurd wordt.

Black-Pearl is een mooi appartement aan de rand van het centrum van Reykjavik en is luxe ingericht. We werden ruim voor ons verblijf geïnformeerd hoe we aan de sleutel van het appartement zouden komen. Met een code kan de deur van het pand geopend en naast de voordeur is een kastje waar de sleutel van het appartement in is en welke met een andere code geopend kan worden. Het was stoffig en kruimelig in het appartement, en hebben dat aan de eigenaresse gemeld. Deze mailde terug, dat er net een nieuwe slaapsofa geleverd was (mooi en zit lekker), wat natuurlijk ook wat stof met zich meebrengt. Het zou handig zijn geweest als iemand bij aankomst aanwezig zou zijn geweest, opdat je het weet, i.p.v. dat je naderhand een uitleg/excuus moet krijgen. Ook hoe de lichtknopjes werken en de doucheknoppen functioneren zou met wat uitleg makkelijker zijn. Overdag is er verkeer rond het gebouw (niet storend) en ’s nachts is het uitgesproken rustig. Aldus: Mooi appartement, waarvan iedereen schrijft dat het erg schoon is, maar waar wij niet zo van onder de indruk waren. Een nieuwe bank verklaart niet de mat aangelopen spiegels, het televisiemeubel dat egaal stoffig is en de kruimels in de keuken.

Beautiful Apartment in a Perfect Location

Upon arrival we were met by the property manager Erla. She was hard at work readying the apartment to provide us early check-in. The apartment was immaculate and contained all of the amenities needed for a great vacation. The location could not have been better. Situated in a great location, the apartment was near Old harbor and the the main downtown shopping, dining and entertainment area.

Great place , great location

Family of 4 stayed here for 4 nights in August. The apartment is great and in a great location. The pull out sofa is a futon which was a little tight for my nearly 14 year old to share with my 11 year old. They managed though. They complained a little about noise from outside, but it wasn't too bad. Owner was super friendly and helpful with things to do in Iceland.

Helga’s unit in the Black Pearl Apts was perfect for our first visit to Iceland. It was walking distance to downtown Reykjavik, Old Harbour, and bus stops to meet tour guides. Great amenities, clean and well kept. The only complaint I have is that the blinds did not black out the sunlight. But overall, a wonderful place to stay.

Modern Reykjavik Apartment

Helga's apartment is modern, clean and is very nicely designed with a separate bedroom (comfortable queen bed), living room, well stocked kitchen with modern appliances, and bathroom with a quality shower. It has WiFi, TV, and free washers and dryers in the basement. It is ideally located in downtown Reykjavik. Helga is very pleasant and responsive. She insisted on driving us to our airport bus stop when it began to rain as we were leaving. We would certainly return and we recommend it highly.

Often I have tourist with me so I can show them my beautiful country which I love so much. I really love staying in one of my two apartment. They are close to everything in Reykjavik. Only few minutes to restaurant, museum, cafes and shopping. For me it is very important that my renters have a wonderful stay in my home country and that the have everything their need in one mye two apartment.
