About the host
Hosted by Blaise Sanders
Kathy along with her husband David and friend Blaise own this home. For over a decade, we have been sharing our joint Island venture by opening our home to guests. We, along with so many others, find Nantucket to be a very special place. Kathy and David live in a suburb of Boston while Blaise lives in New York. We all bring different strengths to this vacation rental but hospitality is our common goal.
Why they chose this property
After years of vacationing on Nantucket, we decided to see if we could actually purchase a place on this special island. We consider ourselves extremely lucky to have found 12 Old Tom Nevers. This duplex was once Naval Officers Housing and having been built by the government is exceptionally sturdy. Renovated in 2011 it is a very comfortable home with good-sized bedrooms and an expanded deck. The classic cottage style house is landscaped with native plant material, has excellent light and wonderful ocean breezes with the sound of the surf at the front door. The neighborhood is quiet and a short stroll takes one to community stairs accessing the beach. We have continued to upgrade and improve this property and enjoy having the opportunity to share our home with others.
What makes this property unique
12 Old Tom Nevers is an excellent location to just kick back and relax. Rise early to catch the sunrise over the beach, watch the rabbits frolic on the lawn, enjoy morning coffee on the deck, play lawn games, grill lunch, take a nap on the beach, freshen up with an outdoor shower, fine dine at one of many restaurants in town, and star glaze before bedtime.
