Perfect getaway. We stayed 3 nights for a Petit Jean and area sight seeing focused trip. Dog friendly for our little gal. Really enjoyed the lake views. Older house that has been nicely remodeled and very clean.
The lake house was quaint and extremely well stocked. The sunsets over the lake were beautiful. Jason was very quick to respond and easy to communicate with.
The host provided everything but food and clothes. 10 minutes from grocery store and right on the lake. Fishing off the dock, kayaking, and swimming were our main attractions. The zipline adds to the fun. 35 mins from the trail to cedar falls. No complaints, had a wonderful time.
Me and my boyfriend stayed here for two nights and this house was super clean and pretty. The fishing was great and kayaking was even better. Definitely will be coming back!!
We only stayed for a night and I wish we were able to stay longer. The house was super clean and smelled amazing. The views were beautiful and the house was well stocked!
We had such a lovely stay. This was the perfect place to relax. We loved sitting on the deck enjoying nature. The view was amazing…especially at sunset! Everything we could possibly want was provided for us inside and out. Would love to stay here again!
I always enjoy visiting Arkansas for hiking and relaxing, and Harris Brake Lake is such a peaceful and secluded spot—it’s rare to see anyone else on the water, which makes it perfect for unwinding. The lake house itself was in a great location, and the inside was very clean and well-stocked with everything I needed for my stay.My only suggestion would be to give the outside space a little more attention. I was looking forward to sitting by the water to enjoy the sunsets, but most of the chairs near the lake were either broken or hadn’t been cleaned in a while. There were plenty of kayaks available, which was great, but many of them seemed weathered, and the new canoes didn’t have all the parts readily accessible. I understand it can be hard to keep things in order with different guests using them, but maybe some organized storage or a quick check between rentals could make a big difference.Even just a good power wash and removal of unusable furniture would go a long way in keeping the outdoor space as inviting as the lake house itself. The deck furniture was lovely, but it would have been nice to have a few clean, sturdy chairs right by the water for guests to relax and enjoy the view.Overall, I had a wonderful stay—the setting is beautiful, and the home was comfortable. A bit of extra care for the outdoor area would make this place truly exceptional.
This is the best place to get away with your family. The owner has trul ythought of everything! Kayaks, zip line, tree swing and of course the view can't be beat. We will definitely be back!
We loved our stay! The house was the perfect size for us... there were 4, it was very relaxing and enjoyable. With the lake being right there it was perfect. My girls enjoyed kayaking and swimming... and I enjoyed sitting on the dock watching them. Would definitely stay again.
As advertised. Clean, fun location, plenty of seating. We stayed during a cold snap, 15 degrees. The heat couldn't really keep up with those temperature. The other comments about the dogs are accurate. We were greeted by them at our car. They are friendly, but if you have a dog that doesn't play well with others (like ours), you may want to look somewhere else.
All things you may have forgotten are available when you get there, stocked nice with pots, pans, dishes. Soaps. Wonderful time fishing from the dock and kayaking on the lake. We had a nice little getaway
What a beautiful view of Petit Jean, Mt Magazine and Mt. Nebo in the distance. This area is beautiful. The cabin was so nice and clean. They had absolutely everything you needed on hand. So if you forget anything chances are they have it. Jason was so friendly and nice. Can’t wait to go back!!!
Jason, the homeowner, also owns the home next door. We had two families getting together for vacation and having a smaller home next door was perfect for us. Even though it was a holiday Jason was quick to address any concerns we had. We enjoyed kayaking and the really nice dock area. Feeding the geese everyday was a plus.
The lake is beautiful, the area is beautiful and Petit Jean State Park was amazing, if you're into hiking!
If you're looking for peacefulness & relaxation away from it all, you'll get it here. Sunsets are indescribable. Chanced are, everything you need is here. They've thought of it all.
We stayed 4 nights. I celebrated my #53 birthday the day we went to the park. One for the books!

About the host
Hosted by Jason Bolden
We bought this cabin and renovated it in large part because we fell in love with view. We enjoy spending time on the deck, watching the birds--bald eagles, ospreys, great blue herons, pelicans, etc. My kids love to swim in the lake. My wife and I never miss an opportunity to kayak throughout the lake, especially around the island. Even on a busy holiday, there is maybe 10 boats on the lake; this made us feel comfortable taking our kids out in kayaks.
Why they chose this property
We have tried to make this a perfect family retreat. We own the house next door too. The backyard is huge and shared between the two homes. Feel free to enjoy the 55 foot long zipline! My kids will play on it for an hour straight! There is also a tree swing, tether ball, picnic table, fire pit, about 9 kayaks, a canoe and paddles, dock for swimming, fishing or kayaking.
What makes this property unique
This is a small lake cabin about 750 SF. It is one bedroom, but has two beds and a sleeper sofa. The living room, kitchen and dining area is all open in one large room where regardless of where you are the 15 feet of windows showcases the fantastic view of the lake. The deck runs across the entire back of the cabin and has lots of seating.
