About this property

Historic Lakefront Estate w. Private Dock

The Historic Lakefront Zachman Estate is nestled amongst groves of pine and aspen trees just steps away from Rocky Mountain National Park, along the most sought after private stretch of lakefront in Grand Lake - only accessible by private road or boat.

The Estate overlooks the pristine emerald lake and features a private boathouse and dock on the water. Inside you’ll find souring 25ft pine ceilings surrounding the original river rock fireplace on both the top and bottom floors.

Spend mornings sipping coffee from the boathouse deck and in the evenings, curl up with a wool blanket by the fireplace and watch the sun set over the lake as the geese fly their migratory path over the water.

The famous Continental Divide Trail is walking distance from the property, which takes hikers through some of the most beautiful sections Rocky Mountain National Park. While others will have to drive into the park, you can simply walk into it.

The estate features fast reliable wifi (Starlink), with connection speeds averaging 100mbps, and wifi enabled speakers throughout the main floor.

There are two master suites with modern, comfortable King beds and lake views, an adult bunk room with a Queen over King, and a quiet retreat down the hall with a Queen size bed and desk for getting some work done with views looking out over the water.

There’s a separate living room downstairs by the second fireplace for kids and family to gather while the adults enjoy conversation in the great room upstairs.

Our chef’s kitchen is stocked with all of the cooking supplies you’d need to cook up a family feast including cast iron pans & skillet, regular pots and pans, a Ninja margarita machine and food processor, and a Calphalon Coffee Machine. The stovetop, oven, and microwave are all new chef-grade Kitchen Aid appliances. We keep our kitchen stocked with essential herbs and spices, of which you’re welcome to use to make your stay more convenient. Beer, butter, or other supplies in the fridge? Please help yourself, we leave certain items to make your stay in our family’s retreat more comfortable. Our mountain fresh water comes from a private well, and is run through our filtration system before it comes out any of the facets. Water pressure in all the showers is exceptional.

On the upper deck you’ll find a BBQ for grilling and panoramic views.

A set of stairs will take you down to the dock and boathouse where you can fish right off our dock or explore the variety of fishing holes around the lake.

While located towards the back of a secluded private road, the home is only 7 minutes by car to the heart of Grand Lake downtown where you’ll find ample shopping, restaurants, miniature golf, and several delicious ice cream stores. Take a picnic to the beach and watch the sailboat races, or explore one of the hundreds of nearby hiking trails.

The Rooms (sleeps up to 12 guests):

Master Suite 1: King Bed with ensuite bathroom, separate reading nook, gas fireplace, and views of the lake from bed. The sunrises reflecting off the water from this room every morning are spectacular.

Master Suite 2: King Bed with ensuite bathroom, smaller than the first master suite but has french doors that open up to the lower deck with sweeping views of the lake.

Guest Suite 3: Queen Bed with ensuite bathroom, office nook and desk looking out through the trees.

Guest Room 4: Queen over King with casper mattresses bunk great for kids or adults

Guest Room 5: Optional Pullout Couch for additional guests in the second floor living room in front of the stone fireplace.

Local Summer Activities: Boating, fishing, hiking, mountain biking, wildlife viewing, and amazing opportunities in Rocky Mountain National Park and Arapahoe National Forest. Championship golf courses, horseback riding and hayrides. World Class Theater located right in Town of Grand lake, boutique shopping, good restaurants, and fun on the boardwalk.

Local Winter Activities: downhill skiing and snowboarding at Ski Granby Ranch (20 miles away) and at Winter Park Ski Area (35 minutes away), cross country skiing (3 areas nearby). Grand Lake is snowmobiling capital of Colorado enjoy more than 130 miles of groomed trails, ice fishing, ice skating, Winter Carnivals, sleigh rides, dog sledding, and snowshoeing.

A few important items to note:

SUMMER: There’s a section of stairs going from the main house to the dock and boathouse which are very much sloping off-camber and scheduled to be replaced (work like this has to be booked out a year in advance, so we’re still waiting patiently for them to be fixed). They are stable, however due to the angle please exercise caution and walk down them slowly. It takes a village to keep the property in fantastic shape, thank you for your understanding as we work to fix this section of stairs.

WINTER: Vehicles with 4 wheel drive and winter tires or chains are required in winter months - weather and driving conditions may change rapidly. You will not make it down our private road safely without a vehicle that has those features. We cannot accommodate weather-related refunds or changes, please plan accordingly.

ALL THE TIME: We do our absolute best to make our family cabin as warm, welcoming, and magical of an experience it is for our own family members. If there’s anything we can do or change to make your stay more enjoyable, please let us know!

Wow-- what a retreat
Comfortable home with updated kitchen. The open dining and living rooms are conducive to large groups to gather. The two masters, queen room and spacious bunks for kids accommodates our group (12). Porch gives commanding view of the lake and a peaceful space to sit for hours on end. The dock has room for any and all watercraft you need. The house is far enough down Jericho that it is quiet. Can't wait to go back
