About Greg
Aloha, I'm a husband, father, jack of all trades, coach of all sports and owner/manager of 5 vacation rentals in Hawaii. I was raised in Hawaii from the age of 8 years old after my family moved here from the USA mainland. Hawaii has so much to offer and I hope you get the chance to visit and explore this amazing state.
Greg purchased this Cottage in 2003
Why Greg chose Hauula
My wife and I love this beach property. It's so close to the beach, restaurants and grocery stores. The small town feeling and tight community on this beach lane is familiar since we both grew up in a small town, on a cul-d-sac on Oahu.
What makes this Cottage unique
The beach is great. Never really rough, even in the winter when the North Shore surf spots are reaching 25 feet. A perfect beach for swimming and boogie boarding. The large shower of the Beach Lane Bungalow rental is my favorite. Fully tiled with additional access to the shower the moment you step in from the back bungalow door. The bungalow is very much suited for a honeymoon or anniversary getaway.

It was nice!
This was a cozy place to stay in. Longs Drugs and Foodland are near by, happy that we chose to stay on the north shore.
Thank you Greg.
Great Location, Clean, Beautiful Property!
My Husband and I stayed here for 5 nights during our trip to Oahu to get married. The property was clean, and it was a great location! Easy walk to the beach to watch the sunrise and swim. Very comfortable bed. AC worked great and cooled the place down fast! Loved the open shower. North Shore Tacos (so delicious!) and grocery store were a short walk/drive away. There is a cool beach rope swing about a ten minute walk North from the house. The grounds of the property were beautifully manicured and it was so nice to be able to sit on the front porch with a beer enjoying the fresh air while our 1 year old daughter played on the fenced in lawn. It was also great to have a washer/dryer. The neighbors were friendly, just don't leave your shoes on the beach, I thought it was beach code not to steal flops but ours got snagged while we were on a short walk in the morning. Oh well! Greg's bungalow is awesome. Mahalo for a wonderful stay! 5 Stars!!!!!
Nice but not great
The bungalow was nice but we had some hiccups. The biggest and worse issue we had were the stains on the sheets and towels. I texted greg and he had his cleaner come in the morning (because we got in at midnight) we were greeted by a woman that was friendly but defended her cleaning. not apologizing for the stains and said things like "it's just from the oils" and "that's just how it is when you stay in a place like this". When I told her I still wanted new linens she gave me the new sheets and towels and said that the stained sheets were the newest ones they had (they looked far from new.) and that all of the sheets probably had stains on them. The older sheets she gave me didn't have stains, thank goodness, but that was a huge issue for me. Maybe you are okay with stained sheets but you shouldn't expect guests to be okay with it. The rest of the bungalow was quite clean and I was pleased with that. The other issue we had was we got locked out of the bungalow. My husband thought I had the key but we left it on the table inside on accident. We do take full responsibility for this incident and we did pay for the lock smith to come and open the door so we could get the key but it was frustrating that the lock pad for the front door was broken and not fixed. And when I reached out to greg he told us about a spare key but it was missing and his response was "one of the previous guests must of taken it by accident" he seemed to be very uncertain about it and what had happened to the key. Like I said we take responsibility for the issue but it would've been nice if he kept his property updated with the functioning lock pad for the front door and the spare key like it is suppose to have. The last issue we had is the noise. There is a rooster that makes some noise at about 6am and the bungalow is close to street so you can hear the morning traffic so sleeping in is tough. However, the beach was so close and it was one of my favorites that we visited and I loved the beautiful surrounding area. The washer and dryer were nice so I didn't have to worry about packing dirty clothes to come home. Overall it was a good stay but not a great stay.
Aloha Celisse,
We really appreciate your feedback and constructive criticism as it helps us to be better hosts if we get honest feedback.
We are SOOO sorry that our cleaner reacted defensively. We actually had the same problem with her just a week ago, when we asked that she make sure to check & clean under the beds when needed and to rotate window cleaning - so that a few get cleaned each time. She responded very poorly to these suggestions and is no longer cleaning for us. We are quite picky about linens and would never want stained linens on the beds at all. We buy new linens regularly and we're not sure why she acted like it's normal to have stains. It's not - guests should have clean & fresh smelling linens, of course! She didn't even tell us about this conversation with you. Honestly, we have had trouble with some of the keypads at the house - I think it may be because of the proximity to the water and salt air. It seems like the batteries go dead really fast and we need to research a bit if there's a better brand or if keypads are just not suitable so close to the beach. Greg said he's going to try a manual one and see if that works better. Chickens and roosters are in a lot of residential areas on Oahu - we always close all the windows and use the AC at night to keep the noise out, but the new split air we upgraded to is so quite there's less "white noise" of the AC motor now. The beach up there is one of our favorites as well - it really is why we bought the house. I think it's the perfect distance for a beach walk and our kids grew up playing on the rope swings and making sand castles and collecting driftwood. I'm glad that overall you had a good time and am so sorry that it didn't get off to a good start. Aloha, Greg & Cindy
Great
This was a great place! We loved it!
Lovely cottage just steps from the beach
This is a lovely cottage just steps from the beach.
Full kitchen, comfortable bed, really nice shower. The outside deck is actually larger than it looks in photos. Lots of beach toys: boogie boards, beach chairs, fins and masks and snorkels. A short drive from North Shore Tacos. Greg was easy to communicate with and very helpful and Justine was really helpful. Nice cozy romantic spot.
Great Location Great Place...
Perfect Location for a quiet beach and property
