There is a spacious living room with 2 large sofas, wood burner, Bose bluetooth sound system, DVD player and Amazon Firestick for TV. The original stable doors have now been replaced by a beautiful arched window, which illuminates in the living room.
The kitchen is through from the lounge under a sandstone archway and is fully fitted for your comfort with the following appliances - fridge, freezer, dishwasher, built in cooker, ceramic hob, extractor fan, washing machine, microwave, kettle, coffee machines and toaster.
There is a dining area for 5/6, which leads onto the sunny child secure terrace with a garden table and chairs with views of the inviting pool.
Upstairs there's a fully tiled modern bathroom decorated in tones of sandstone and chrome, which has a toilet, shower, sink and bath. There are 2 large bedrooms with the original beams and dressed stone walls, there is a double room (with a super king-sized bed) and a single room with 3 single beds. A cot can be placed in either bedroom.
The cottage also benefits from central heating and a wood burning stove for out of season bookings. During the summer, rental is for a 1 week period from Saturday to Saturday, with arrival from 4pm and departure by 10am.
There are also DVDs, books, toys and games provided. For families with babies, we can offer highchairs, buggy, stairgates, cots, fireguard, changing mat and baby monitor.
This beautiful property is set amongst the famous vineyards and sunflower fields of the Cognac region. It has been lovingly restored to provide comfortable accommodation whist still retaining many of the original charming features. The house has a private terrace and guests can enjoy the beautiful stone summer house - which provides comfortable seating area for shelter against the hot summer sun, overlooking the swimming pool and gardens. You can relax around the enclosed roman ended swimming pool (10m x 5m), play in the well-equipped games barn - which includes pool table, table tennis, table football, badminton, darts, bikes (child seats and headgear available) or sunbathe amongst the palm trees in the sunny mature gardens which also includes a swing under the apple tree, hammock, basketball and football nets. Chill out, sunbathe, relax, sit in the surrounding tranquil woodland by the slow running stream that runs at the bottom of the garden - listening to bird song and looking out for deer. This holiday will feel like a home from home with beautiful weather, a wonderful swimming pool, a games room and playhouse which will keep your children occupied.
The Atlantic coast is only an hour away with its amazing beaches at Royan, Ile d'Oleron, Fouras, Chatalaillon Plage and Ile de Ré. Alternatively, you can take advantage of the local countryside, walks in the vineyards and woods surrounding the hamlet, or cycle the myriad of peaceful lanes.
Try canoeing or paddle boarding on the Charente River or tree climbing/zip wire at Abbey Fontdouce and water skiing/wakeboarding at PlanetSki (near Jarnac) or visit the superb Aquarium at La Rochelle and Zoo at La Palmyre. For the golfing enthusiast there are courses at Cognac, Saintes and La Rochelle.
You can explore the Marais Poitevin (Green Venice), visit historic towns such as Angouleme (45 mins), Poitiers (75 mins), Saintes (20 mins), La Rochelle (75 mins), the Cognac distilleries (15 mins) or even Futuroscope (90 mins). There are numerous good (and reasonably priced) restaurants in the area including a 5* hotel and Michelin star restaurant in Cognac and the superb local markets offer an amazing range of fresh seafood, farm produce and cheeses.
