About this property
Treetops: New Orleans Balcony Condo in Historic Mansion
Long term stays ONLY-- attn travel nurses! Welcome to Treetops, balcony living in the Big Easy! Stylish 700 square ft condo with artistic touches 4 blocks from the French Quarter in Historic Treme! Walk out windows to a HUGE private balcony: sip your morning coffee among live oaks! Charm and original details meet renovated modern amenities in this 1850s mansion built by a free person of color. Whether you come for the comfort, fun or history, Treetops has it all!
Historic Treme is a few blocks from the French Quarter and is steeped in history. The birthplace of jazz hosts attractions like Armstrong Park as well as a number of coffee shops and restaurants. You will not need a car to get to all New Orleans has to offer! (But bring comfy shoes.) The building is fenced and secured with a locked gate. There are security cameras in common areas: one on the balcony, one on the driveway and video doorbells. No cameras inside the condo.
(Just a note- it can be a noisy neighborhood due to proximity to the freeway, a popular jazz club in the area and random second lines, so if you are sensitive to that, this may not be the place for you.)
The condo is located up one flight of stairs- there is no elevator-- so please bear that in mind. There is a shared courtyard that owners in the building use with a portable fire pit.
Please contact me with your questions before booking. You will be required to sign a lease agreement for stays over 30 days and remit a security deposit. ID checks per HOA rules.

Why they chose this property
This condo is absolutely dripping with charm and good vibes. It is so relaxing , well decorated and carefully appointed. The walk out windows are beyond cool (watch your head!) and a HUGE private balcony like this?? Come on! You just don't get that! The bathroom and kitchen are updated and incredibly cute. Local art graces the walls. This is living!
What makes this property unique
The house was built in 1850 by Prosper Hazeur, a free person of color. Treme was the only neighborhood where free people of color could own property at the time and it was one of the first suburbs of New Orleans (which was just the area we now refer to as the French Quarter.) There is so much history in the house and the area. Architecture buffs will love the mansion, music buffs will be excited by random jazz bands wandering through the area.
