About this property

Private,Quiet, cabin,on 27 acres,w/ trails. near the Hoh Rain Forest Nat' l Park.

Hello. At this time of the corona virus outbreak. Here are some reassurances about my place.I am on the West end of Jefferson County. 65 miles from Port Angeles and 110 miles from Aberdeen. The closest town is Forks and that is 15 miles away. There is a large grocery store. I am isolated, with no super close neighbours and in the middle of 27 acres of pristine forest land. I have my own well and I have it tested every year. My crew of helpers are doing a great job of keeping the property clean and comfortable. We get lots of great comments about this. Our favorite comment..."We can't wait to come back". The decks, gazebo, huge yard ,and the wonderful trails are really fun to relax around. And so quiet too.

We had an amazing time in this beautiful house! We had everything we could possibly need provided to us. There were lots of games, movies, and books for entertainment, not that it’s needed considering how gorgeous it is outside! Our host was the best, she gave helpful advice during our stay and provided helpful notes and guides inside the house. This was all around an amazing stay and we hope to revisit in the future!

It’s a rainforest during winter, so it was wet as expected, but we went to enjoy each other’s company in a cozy little cabin, and we got just that!

I agree with what everyone has said about the great location and wonderful owner of this property, so what can I add that might be helpful? I have to say that I wondered if this place might be less than comfortable since it isn't "modern" with bells and whistles. But it was clean, comfortable, and cozy. This cabin is so well kept and loved. The owner is not only friendly, helpful, and available (without being intrusive at all), but she provides for any possible problem by clearly laying out plans for power outages, etc. Our stay went off without a hitch in the middle of winter. But it was nice to know that if anything did go wrong in this very rural location that she had thought of how to lessen any trouble that came from things she couldn't control. This owner clearly cares about her guests experience. And our experience was excellent.

We really enjoyed or stay at the Hoh Valley Hideaway! The trails on the property were fun to walk with our dog. Close to two of our favorite beaches… Ruby Beach and Beach 4. Our host, Kamala, was a pleasure to meet, very responsive to any questions. We feel she is the heart of the Hoh Valley Hideaway.

Kamala was the best host we've ever had on any vacation. She was so sweet and had so many stories. We even had her over for dinner one night. The power went out after a tree fell in the middle of the night and she was up at 3am to call it in immediately, then came over first thing in the morning to get the wifi back up and running. The trails on the 27 acres are just as awesome as anywhere in the hoh rainforest and they're all literally in the back yard and very clearly marked so it's hard to get lost. This place is truly amazing and the pictures just don't do it justice. It had everything you would need for a place like this, even rain gear. And the outdoor shower was awesome, we may even build one at our own house one day now. 10/10 recommend to anyone staying here and we will 100% stay here again if we come back to the Olympic Peninsula. She gave us all big hugs when we left

Loved our stay at the cabin! It’s a special setting and our kids loved exploring the trails on the property - we walked the trails at least twice a day. We also enjoyed meeting Kamala and chatting with her, she gave us some great travel tips for the next leg of our vacation. It was a pleasure staying at her property!

This is a cozy cabin in a picturesque and private setting. We’ve stayed here twice and really enjoyed our vacations. The owner communicates very quickly and effectively. She is very friendly and pleasant to deal with. Our only quibble is with the quality of the mattresses. The main bedroom mattress is quite soft. Our adult boys also would have liked better mattresses. But we all sleep on high quality, firm, and fairly new mattresses, so perhaps we expect too much.

Great home in the heart of everything we needed during our visit. We enjoyed the city of Forks, the beaches and the Hoh rainforest during our stay. The home had everything we needed. We really enjoyed the homes outside as well from walking the yard to enjoying the dark skies at night to view the Milky Way and dozens of shooting stars. The outside shower is a must to try! I will use this great home again on our next Washington stay. Kamala was very accommodating as our arrival was later than expected and she gave great recommendations to ensure our later evening drive from Seattle was a breeze. Thank you!

We were able to get away from our every day hustle and bustle of our busy lives and enjoy such a quiet, beautiful and peaceful piece of paradise. The entire time staying here I heard not one single car, motorcycle or sirens. I cannot think of one single thing that was not enjoyable here. Definitely a place to get in touch with your soul. The owner was very caring and loved the fact that she could share her every day life with others. I will NEVER forget this place!! Kitchen was stocked with dishes, pots and pans, cooking utensils, eating utensils, foil, plastic wrap, wooden skewers, paper plates, paper towels, plastic utensils, dish soap, everything that you’re home would have and then some. Even birthday candles! Coffee and coffee maker, toaster, microwave, electric stove, full-size refrigerator. There were rain boots for the guest, mosquito spray, sunscreen, games, books for kids and the entire family. There was a highchair, outside play area. Gazebo, grill, front and back porches. We have thoroughly enjoyed staying here. It has been the most peaceful moments I’ve had in such a long time. The Home even had an outside shower with rainwater. (Husband totally enjoyed this unique feature) The home sets on 27 acre property which has rainforest like features with trails and very close to rain forest amongst tons of other beautiful scenery.Kamala, thank you for sharing your home. We thoroughly enjoyed our time and loved all the close places to enjoy.Jeannie Hiatt

The property was very nice, and the trails. Kamala was very nice. She has a house out of town, but chooses to stay on property when guests are there. All 3 beds were really uncomfortable, and seem very old, people have also been giving her bad reviews about them for years. I have allergies and asthma from cats. Had to leave a day early because I think the place used to have cats. The carpet was really dirty. There was a lot of clutter and disorganization when it comes to things in the kitchen and living room that seemed like just storage for owner. Water pressure great. Not sure why I'd use outdoor shower given it's never hot in that area of WA. Excellent location in relation to Ruby Beach. Wish better selection of DVDs, like the Twilight series or scary movies from 80s and 90s. Good WiFi. Very quiet. Kamala wants to know number of dogs and breed before you come to property. You'll need to bring 25 cash per dog. Futon/sofa and chair in living room extremely uncomfortable. If she invested 1500 to update beds and living room furniture, as well as removed carpet and had rugs professionally cleaned every once and a while, we would return. It's worth the investment when you consider the increase in returning customers and the reduced need to clean.

If you intend to visit the Hoh Rainforest, this is an ideal place from which to do it! This property is just a mile or two from the rainforest entrance, and the owner gave me a great tip that made all the difference: I must arrive at the park entrance before 7:30 am to avoid waiting in line for hours to get inside. This is the kind of insider tip that a visitor really needs, and I appreciated it very much! The property itself was clean and cosy, albeit a bit cluttered. Living room furniture (futon and chair) were not very comfortable and could be upgraded; same with the queen bed. But the place had what I needed for a brief stay. The owner was very friendly and communicative before and after my stay.

We are English transplants who have fallen in love with the Pacific Northwest. The grandchildren love to come and spend time here.We love sharing the cabin with people who really appreciate the beautiful setting. We have spent years upgrading the property. Not easy with over 110 inches of rain a year! We are thrilled that our guests are returning and recommending this older cabin to their friends. I have guests who have returned every year {14} for a week every August ..They always look to see what changes were made to the property in the last year.

Why they chose this property

We come here to rest and rejuvenate and leave the city behind. Our family has owned and loved this property for over 40 years. Actually, the property has owned us! Especially the moles! Many of our English relatives have come to visit and are always amazed at the scenery.Last year's favourite memory was of my English buddies from high school sitting around the blazing campfire, late at night, drinks in hand, laughing until we cried. We wish to share this peaceful sanctuary with you.Make sure you take the time to walk the trails and pack a picnic for the beach.

What makes this property unique

Tranquility, relaxation, and seclusion. We have enjoyed watching the wildlife in the large yard. The trails are magical. Also the beach-combing,fishing and hunting is pretty good too!
