About this property
THE COTTAGE IN THE GARDEN , WITH A SECLUDED SPA AND BIKES
The Cottage in the Garden is located behind our South Redondo home in a residential neighborhood. There is a private spa located at the rear of the property. We are a 15 to 20 minute walk to the beach, or a quick ride on one of our complimentary bikes.
On entering the Cottage one has the impression they are in a mountain cabin. There are vintage skis and a sled mounted on knotty pine walls. While there is no kitchen, there is a small refrigerator, microwave, toaster, coffee pot, and dishes. Enjoy breakfast in the Cottage, or sitting on the deck. One can hear birds singing, the bubbling fountain, and the gentle ringing of chimes.
After breakfast don your shorts, grab towels, beach chairs, a picnic lunch, and head to the beach. Walk barefoot in the sand. Ride bikes from Torrance to Santa Monica. Head to the Redondo Beach Pier, a short distance away. The Pier offers water activities, souvenir shops, restaurants and photo opportunities.
Later return to the Cottage to get refreshed. Watch the birds splash in the bird bath, the hummingbirds feed on the fuschias, and enjoy the late afternoon breeze. Or, read a good book from our bookcase while sitting in the recliner, or the glider.
It is then time to think about dinner, but first, return to the beach to watch a spectacular sunset. Afterward head to the Riviera Village for dinner. After dinner it is back to the Cottage to star gaze while sitting in the relaxing spa. Finish your day in our comfy down bed.

We are a family of three, all native Californians. Pam grew up in Redondo Beach and is an insurance adjuster. Bill is a retired aerospace engineer and the resident handy man. Susannah is a Board Certified Music Therapist. We are active in our Church. We live for good ice cream and love to travel as a family. Meeting new people brings us joy.
Why they chose this property
Redondo Beach is a casual beach town. We moved to the Avenues due to the proximty to the beach and the Riviera Village. The Cottage was our place to escape before we added on to our home. It now allows us to share our little slice of heaven with others.
What makes this property unique
We are approximately 7 blocks east of the Pacific Ocean. South Redondo Beach is 12 miles south of the Los Angeles Airport. We are close to the Palos Verdes Peninsula which has whale watching, hiking trails, tide pools, and beautiful sunsets. One can catch the ferry boat from San Pedro, or Long Beach, to Catalina Island, a quaint resort island 25 miles off the coast. We can be used as a hub to enjoy the many offerings in Los Angeles and Orange County, Disneyland/California Adventure, Knott's Berry Farm, Universal Studios, Staples Center, Dodger Stadium, Downtown Los Angeles, Venice, Santa Monica, Hollywood, Long Beach Aquarium, Los Angeles Zoo, and the Getty Center.
