THINGS TO CONSIDER:
Our WiFi is the best option available in the area and is very fast. Please keep in mind this is in a forest, so occasionally it will stop working. We unplug and plug it back in, and then it`s up again in a few minutes. We can work remotely very easily. However, be warned it can be spotty at times. We can go months with no issues, then suddenly we have to reset. I guess it`s all part of the charm. :)
Parents of young children should be aware that there is a staircase leading to the upstairs loft which is not suitable for unsupervised small ones. Also, please note that if you decide to have a fire in the wood-burning stove, the exterior gets very hot. Please message us if you have any questions about this. We do provide a baby gate for stairs and a screen you can put in front of the wood stove.
Please consider when booking in the winter that this area does get winter storms and snow and to have a vehicle that can handle the conditions. Our street and driveway are kept plowed and generally HWY 26 is pretty good but we always try to stay prepared. Also consider Airbnb`s rental insurance.
We charge an additional $30 per person per night after 6 guests and a $50 dog fee for up to 2 dogs.
No bathroom in the Bunkhouse.
-We require a $500 security deposit, which is only charged in the event of excessive damage. Prior to your arrival, a temporary hold for the deposit amount will be placed on your card, but it will be released one day after check-out. Rest assured, we will discuss any potential damages with you before charging the deposit. Our credit card processor charges a 3% fee which is not reimbursed due to a cancellation.
DOG FRIENDLY: (2 max) Bring your best friend! I know we don`t like traveling without ours! Two dogs are welcome! You will need to indicate how many dogs when you book and will be charged a flat $50 fee. We will provide a dog goodie box filled with towels, food and water bowls, and waste bags. Please pick up after your dog! Also, note that dogs are not allowed on furniture, and you will be responsible for any damages, so please do not leave your dogs unattended.
Guest access Guest have full / private access to cabin and Bunkhouse space. No garage access. You will check yourself in with an individual smart lock code. We have a super large and flat circular driveway.
Other things to note -WEATHER- Like most cabins in the area we are at a higher elevation and recommend 4WD vehicles in the winter in case of snow or extreme weather. We can not predict or control weather, so we don`t offer refunds due to inclement weather. Please keep this in mind when booking, and if this is a concern we recommend purchasing travel insurance.
-EXTRA GUESTS- The house will accommodate 8 people. However, please note that there are only 3 bedrooms and 4 beds in the main house. Also available is the daybed in the loft AND twin bunk beds in The Bunkhouse, if needed.
We charge an extra guest fee after 6 guests so please make sure you include all guests with your reservation so there isn`t any surprise expenses. If you have more than 8 guests without first clearing it with us, you may be charged our event fee of $150 an hour.
-FIREPIT- The Oregon Department of Natural Resources often restricts outdoor fires in the summer to prevent wildfires. Please call the Hoodland Fire District prior to burning wood in the fire pit in the summer to check on current status or just message me and I will check on it for you.
-RING CAMERA - We have an audio/video ring camera set up at the edge of the front deck. It is set up to just see the driveway for safety and for us to keep an eye on the property when it is vacant. We purposely made sure it is no where near any hang out spots for guest privacy.
Sound good? Great! We look forward to hosting you soon!

This place is fantastic and has everything you need for a family vacation. We really enjoyed the location and walking to coffee and the store. The game room was the highlight of our weekend. Thank you! Joy
Perfect base for exploring Mt Hood. Well-curated and thoughtful accommodation, we can’t wait to return. Host was very responsive and our stay was great!
Such a wonderful stay! Property was even better in person. The layout, plus bunkhouse, made it ideal for families, plus it felt like our own private paradise due to the size of the property and number of trees. We look forward to visiting again!
Beautiful home, beautiful property. We enjoyed ourselves, and our family who came to stay said this was their favorite of all our VRBO stays. Manager was friendly, helpful, and responsive. LOVE this place!
Great property for groups. We enjoyed the property and how accurate the listing was. Everyone enjoyed the home. We will return. It is fully stocked with everything you need. Comfortable couch, beds are great and perfect location.
Great location and perfect accommodations for 3 guys on a golf getaway! The hot tub was a welcome treat after long days on the course. Everything was just as described and meet our needs to the tea! See you next time.
I have stayed in the area several times in the past and this was by far our favorite property. Everything was very well thought out and the owner was very responsive. We loved listening to the birds on the screened in porch, taking hot tubs and naps on the hammock. The kitchen was also well equipped for anything you would need for cooking. Highly recommend!
House was perfect! Lots of activities and options. Was great to have separate spaces for the boys to hang out in. Very comfortable and lots of extra special thoughtful touches. Highly recommend and hope to get back in a warmer month to enjoy the screen porch and hammocks!
Seriously one of the best cabins we've ever stayed at. Multiple rooms for entertainment. Easy check-in/check-out. Great communication. Comfortable beds (always makes or breaks a trip) were on point - everyone slept like logs. Highly highly recommend.
We had a wonderful time staying in this beautiful home. We celebrated our granddaughter's 19th birthday by hiking to Mirror Lake. This home is the perfect place to stay when planning lots of hikes. We also drove to Painted Hills. It was absolutely stunning. Thank you for sharing such a beautiful home away from home.

We loved our stay at this property. The house was very clean, spacious and wonderfully decorated. Took our son and some friends for his 13th birthday and they really enjoyed the game room cabin! We made many meals at the house, but also went to the local Mexican Cantina. It was delicious. Overall better than expected. Will be staying again.
We throughly enjoyed our weekend stay. There are a lot of enjoyable family spaces, including the screened in porch! We also loved the board games and the bunk house was super fun!!! The hot tub was really relaxing and clean as well. The place was very clean and linens and towels were high quality. It’s also an easy walk to the Thriftway, coffee shop, liquor store, wine bar, and restaurants. We cooked all of our meals for 8 adults at the house. We wish there were a couple of larger non-stick pans and sharper knives, but otherwise pretty well equipped. We would definitely stay here again!! The host was very responsive and we loved our time at the house!!
I rented the Basecamp for a small reunion with some old ski buddies. It was perfect in every way! Plenty of space to sleep and hang out in the main house, and the bunk house with the game room was awesome! Big new hot tub with fantastic jets really helped to relax after a day on the hill. Everything was clean, well decorated and functioning perfectly. I would give this place 10 stars if I could. We will DEFINITELY be coming back soon.
Being in the tall trees is a vacation in itself. This house is modern, well decorated, well appointed with appliances.
Everything worked well. Sitting outside by the firepit or in the Hot tub is relaxing. Our dogs enjoyed the walks during the day. HIghly recommened!!!!!!!! And encouraged!
This house exceeded all expectations. First off, it's very well stocked with a lot of the basics, like plastic wrap and tin foil, that I find missing in other rentals. The house was very well cleaned for our arrival, and the home was very comfortable for my wife and I, along with our dogs. There's no shortage of entertainment with the bunk house, hot tub, and outdoor sitting area. Weather was perfect for our stay, and the wood stove was great for the cooler nights. The home feels secluded and private, but you can also walk or take a short drive to find a few restraunt, shops, wine bar and even a liquor store for any last minute needs. The hosts were easy to reach and quick to respond with any and all information. In short, we loved our stay and we'll definitely be returning.
Just an amazing property with just about anything you could want. The location is beautiful; totally surrounded by forest and wildflowers. It feels secluded but is super-close to a store and restaurants. Plenty of hiking and outdoor activities nearby. And if you want a quiet day in, there's so much to do in the cabin itself. Ping pong, shuffleboard, or darts in the bunkhouse, board games in the main house, the hot tub, the fire pit... We took advantage of all of them! This was a great stay for the five of us. We would not hesitate to stay here again.
Hi! I am originally from Eugene, Oregon and currently my husband and I live in Portland. We love hosting vacation homes as they are our “happy place”. We spend a lot of time creating a very comfortable, fun and stylish place where everyone feels right at home when you visit. We hope you enjoy it as much as we do!
