Great family setup, problems with stay
They have a lot of amenities to make a family gathering nice. We had multiple issues during our stay. The indoor hot tub had a significant leak and got the carpet wet in the bedroom and adjacent hallway. It created a noticeable smell when entering the house, and was unbearable in the basement area where one of the bedrooms was located. The owner was aware of the leak and carpet being wet before arrival. Told us it was leaking but not about the carpet and odor. Had to have him drain the tub and try to dry the carpet. It stayed wet until the day before we departed.
Half of the house has no heat from the main furnace and the boiler for that area was not on.
Using the master bath shower caused significant water leaks from the ceiling of the bathroom below. We stopped using that shower because we didn’t want the ceiling crashing down during our stay. He was aware of previous reports about this leak.
The microwave was very close to falling down. He did a temporary fix to secure it.
This house should not be rented until the water issues and mold or musty smell is eliminated. There were signs of water migration up the drywall. There is definitely mold in there. There has to be mold under the upstairs shower.
We had to wash all of our clothes when we got home because it had the musty smell even though we stayed two floors up.
We were refunded about 1/4 of the cost of the stay.
