About this property
Cabin #5 - The Perch at Twin Peaks
This beautiful, two-bedroom cabin has a queen size bed in one bedroom and a full-size bed in the other. There's a full kitchen with all the basics, and a living room with an eating area. It has a full size bathroom as well. The cabin has a small porch and great internet service. It's quiet and beautiful. Our guests often remark on how peaceful the setting it. it's a place where you can truly get-away.
The cabin is on a secluded 4.5 acre property tucked behind Highway 189 in Twin Peaks. There are a few other cabins on our property but it's not at all like renting a 'vacation rental home'.
Instead, Cabin 5 is set among the trees where it's quiet and peaceful. It's not on a paved road, and it has no driveways. We're rustic yet stylish, modern but historic, and authentic but reimagined. It's remote but minutes away from good restaurants, grocery stores, Lake Gregory and Lake Arrowhead. We're close to Strawberry Peak, which has magnificent views, Santa's Workshop, Snow Valley, hiking, paragliding, and 40 minutes to Big Bear.
Cabin 5 is simplicity at its finest. At the end of an active day, you can settle back in your own private cozy cabin. You're welcome to roam the property where you'll find a few other cabins, a large open field, a forested area, and our barn. The barn is there for your use, where you can BBQ, play games, light a fire and just hang out. You'll feel as though you're completely remote but actually, we're just 1.5 hours from LA and only minutes to restaurants, grocery stores and shopping.

About the host
Hosted by Laura Guidry

Welcome to The Perch at Twin Peaks! Our cabins were built in the '30's and for many years it was a thriving mountain resort called Mile High Resorts. When we purchased the property in 2018 the cabins had fallen into disrepair and we spent the next year lovingly restoring 10 of the 13 cabins in an exciting and stylish way. We opened up at the end of 2019. In the Summer of 2022, we began renovating the remaining 3 cabins and look forward to having them open in Spring of 23.
You will be hosted by our property manager Courtney, who lives onsite and is happy to help you with anything you might need during your stay.

Why they chose this property
The Perch is completely unique for the mountain area for various reasons. Each private cabin was built in the early 30s, and we have maintained the integrity of the original structures. So it's pretty rustic and simple. However, each cabin's interior has been lovingly and aesthetically furnished.
Each cabin is unique, with eclectic, stylish furnishings and quality linens. The Perch gives you the opportunity to truly get away and disconnect, Get back to a simple life where there are no microwaves, TVs or jacuzzis -- there aren't even roads or driveways and the cabins have no addresses. Instead, you'll have the forest, a large flat open field and lots of nature around you to explore. We are close to hikes, parasailing, off-roading, winter sports, and lakes. Guests are welcome to enjoy the entire 4.5-acre property.
The Perch also has a barn, which is another unique thing about this property. In the barn, you'll find an indoor and outdoor fireplace, games and BBQs. Since the barn is a communal space and not a short-term rental, we are permitted to have gatherings here. You can have a BBQ, light a fire, make s'mores and play some games. But our cabins are so cozy, you may not want to!

What makes this property unique
The real benefit with any of the cabins at The Perch is the privacy, quiet, and the feeling of peacefulness in this space.
You'll find the basics, like linens, coffee, shampoo etc. For anything else, there are supermarkets within 10 minutes of your cabin. The major benefit is the peace and quiet, ability to disconnect and get back to the simple life.
