Shire is one of four pet-friendly cabins at Forest Villas... a private 4-acre adventure compound a quarter mile from downtown Marienville, PA. Walk to town in 5 minutes. Throw an axe before dinner. Light the fire pit when the sun drops, and stay up later than you planned.
Who Shire works for: - Couples who want a cozy, photogenic getaway - Small families and pet owners (dogs welcome) - Outdoor travelers heading to Cook Forest, Allegheny National Forest, or Rails-to-Trails - ATV, snowmobile, and recreation travelers (room for trucks + trailers) - Bigfoot Festival weekend visitors looking for walking-distance lodging - Remote workers who need full cell reception and high-speed Wi-Fi
About Forest Villas: You're not just renting a cabin... you're staying at a private pet-friendly adventure compound. Forest Villas sits on 4 wooded acres with on-property amenities most cabin rentals can't match.
What you get on-property (included with every stay): - 6-lane axe throwing range (yes, really) - The world's tallest Bigfoot statue, over 3 stories tall - 4 acres of private forested trails through pines and hardwoods - A peaceful pond with cattails - A tire obstacle course - Direct access to the Rails-to-Trails path (property runs along it) - Resident wildlife, including a rare white deer that visits regularly
Inside Shire (510 sqft, well-laid-out): - Private bedroom with a real closed door and a brand-new luxury queen mattress - Living room with two leather-look convertible sofa beds (flexible sleeping for 2 more) - Wood-paneled kitchen with full-size refrigerator, gas stove, and microwave - Indoor dining nook - Tiled shower, full bath - Smart TV with Netflix, Roku, and more - High-speed Wi-Fi (works for streaming and remote work) - Full cell reception - Heat and A/C, linens, pillows, and towels included
Outside your cabin: - Covered front porch with seating - Privacy-fenced rear bar patio with a hand-built tree-stump bar table, metal bar stools, and string lights overhead - Brick-surround fire pit with bench seating - Decorative gravel + railroad-tie pathway - Gravel driveway with 2 dedicated parking spots - Shared loop drive with neighboring cabins... room for trucks, trailers, ATVs, snowmobiles, or anything else you're hauling
Within minutes: - 5-minute walk to downtown Marienville - 15 minutes to Cook Forest State Park - Quick access to the Allegheny National Forest - Walking distance to the Forest County Bigfoot Festival
Pets: We welcome dogs. $30 non-refundable pet fee per stay. The covered porch is a great rainy-day spot, and the 4-acre property gives them room to stretch. Please keep pets leashed.
What to know before booking: - Cabin is 510 sqft... cozy, efficient, well-laid-out - Gravel shared driveway (year-round accessible) - Real closed-door private bedroom (most "1BR" cabin listings in this area are actually open lofts) - Quiet, residential feel... no industrial noise - On-property amenities are shared with the 3 other Forest Villas cabins... it's a small compound, not a resort
Book Shire for your next Marienville trip. Whether it's a quiet weekend with the dog, a Cook Forest hiking trip, an ATV weekend, or Bigfoot Festival lodging... this cabin is built for the slow-down kind of getaway.

This cabin was beautiful, homey, and quiet! We loved it so much, we plan to rent it again in the future. Great people to rent off of too! Friendly, accommodating and easy to talk too. Highly recommend these cabins!!
Great weekend getaway. Even though near a main road felt private. Outdoor space was beautiful. Brittany checks in and makes sure you have what you need. Will definitely stay again.

My girlfriend and I loved how the cabins were set up! It's cozy and private with lots of comforts from the electric fireplace to the beautiful little waterfall nearby. The trails were also chocked full of cool attractions! Definitely worth the visit!

Wonderful getaway
Perfect getaway cabin. We cooked out and relaxed around the fire. Has all the amenties needed for the weekend. Cute trails with a large Bigfoot sighting. Would definitely come back again.
First and foremost, it was clean, comfy cabin. Not overly private or woodsy, however. Some basic essentials were missing. There were only 5 squares of toliet paper, remote needed new batteries, and the shampoo dispenser was bone dry.It just felt like you are getting a bare bones cabin in a run down town for the price of a good hotel.
We had a wonderful weekend at our stay here! The property was clean, cozy and the property owners were super accomodating! They even set up a little activity for our 3 year old to do. It was a perfect weekend!
We took a last minute trip to PA for Groundhog Day. The cabin was perfect! It was clean and cute. Fireplace was on when we arrived and it was so cozy. Would definitely stay here again if ever in the area.
Simple, cute place to go to for outdoor adventures! The two couches fold down for a few more people.Enough room for our fur babies. Ample amount of yard space plus a beautiful background drop for weddings or photos.Great host, she’s very responsive.
The cabin was beautiful and extremely clean , everything we needed was provided . The location was amazing !!! The hostess Brittany Gibbs went above and beyond to make our stay amazing . We will definitely be going back many more times in the weeks to come . If you book this cabin I promise you … you won’t be disappointed, it is beautiful!!!!!

Helen, you guys were amazing guests. I am very happy for the opportunity to meet and chat with the both of you. Definitely one of the brightest spots of my season. We are looking forward to seeing you guys as often as you would like to visit us! 😊 Happy 4th of July 🎆
Initially I was feeling disappointed because this cabin backs up to the road and there is a big white house across the street so it didn't feel as woodsy as i hoped, but it was actually a very quiet road and we enjoyed having a camp fire in the yard. The cabin was not unlocked but Brittany came right over and let us in.over and let us in.
We had such a nice time and we enjoyed this place so much!! One minor wi-fi issue was all we suffered and that was not a big deal whatsoever. This place is cozy, quiet, warm, and I would 100% go back again.
Cozy cabin in a quiet area to enjoy some R&R. A few details missing but overall everything worked out well. Owner/Property Manager communication and follow through was fantastic. Was a great location to stay for our baby moon where we just wanted to stay in and relax, cook some quiet meals and enjoy a nice bonfire. Backyard can’t be beat!
My husband and I went to have a little getaway for our anniversary. When we first arrived we were in complete awe!! There were plants in every room making it a warm welcoming and just the feel of home. The cabin was so nice and clean. The property manager is very nice and never left a question unanswered. We will definitely be stay at this property again in the future.
We went for a 2 night stay between Christmas and New Years and enjoyed our stay. It was warmer than expected, which made things a little muddy outside for the dogs, but that was nobody's fault. We also should have prepared better with napkins and paper towels, as those were not available. It was a beatifully decorated cabin that we would be happy to stay at again!
This property is very nice. Also, very new. The kitchen could be stocked a little bit better. However, for where it's located and what you're using it for, i.e., going hiking and things like that it's perfect.

Disliked: Communication, listing accuracy
Communication was absolutely horrific. Got there and the place was not set up for 4 adult guests as was promised. Only 2 bath towels, no hand towels, no paper towels and only 2 sleeping pillows. AND, there was a concession trailer parked in the driveway with a generator that ran non-stop for the majority of our stay. We arrived on Friday evening and left Sunday morning. Even though we contacted our host within a hour of arrival we never heard back from her!
