Step inside a space thoughtfully designed for unwinding. The private hot-tub deck, tranquil screened porch with yoga mats and incense, and open-air mountain views all invite you to slow down and breathe.
Your personal cedar barrel sauna, installed in 2024, waits on the back deck—ready to melt away stress and soothe sore muscles after a day of hiking or exploring Sylva.
Each bedroom offers a king bed, memory-foam mattress, and private bath, ensuring every guest enjoys restful nights and personal space. The wraparound deck extends the living area outdoors—perfect for morning coffee, golden-hour cocktails, or simply listening to the creek below.
Inside, gather by the wood-burning stove for cozy evenings, or step out to the fire-pit area for s’mores and stargazing. Downstairs, discover the game-and-bar lounge with karaoke, a disco ball, and board games for light-hearted nights in.
Connectivity: We provide Starlink internet, but due to our peaceful valley setting, service can occasionally dip—especially when trees are in full leaf.

The Neighborhood:
Creekside Hideaway is located just 10 minutes from historic downtown Sylva, home to local restaurants, breweries, and boutique shops. The cabin sits on a private wooded lot well off the highway, offering peaceful seclusion while remaining close to town conveniences.
Getting Around:
A car is recommended for exploring the area. Downtown Sylva is just 10 minutes away, and there’s plenty of free parking right at the cabin.
Other Things to Note:
Embrace the Mountain Setting
Creekside Hideaway offers a peaceful escape surrounded by nature. With the cabin nestled deep in the woods, you may occasionally spot (or hear) some of our local wildlife.
We provide monthly pest maintenance and discreet bait traps to keep things comfortable, but small critters like gray or flying squirrels and the occasional field mouse can sometimes make an appearance—it’s part of mountain life here in Sylva.
Flying squirrels are nocturnal and protected in North Carolina. We’ve placed sound machines in each bedroom for light sleepers, and our team is always available if anything needs attention during your stay.
We want your visit to feel serene, comfortable, and connected to the natural beauty that makes this place special.
Interaction with Guests:
Guests enjoy complete privacy with easy self check-in. We’re available by message if anything comes up, but you’ll have the place entirely to yourself.

About the host

Hello!
We are a young married couple who moved from Minneapolis, MN (our hometown) to Charleston, SC in 2020. We first spun up "The House of Coastal Blues" from our home, spending about 3 months fully renovating the suite. This place is perfect for couples and small families looking to explore all that Charleston has to offer.
Please ask us for recommendations of things to do around Charleston, we love the area and are on a mission to try as many restaurants as possible in our time there :).
In February 2022, we bought "The Creekside Hideaway". We moved from Charleston to the Smoky Mountains and spent 10 months renovating this home ourselves. We wanted to create a space that invited travelers to relax and unwind while experiencing all that Western NC has to offer. This was a big project, but we are so happy with how it turned out and we hope you enjoy it as much as we love it!
We pride ourselves on our communication and on providing an excellent experience for all of our guests.
Thank you for staying with us! :)

Why they chose this property
We first fell in love with the privacy of the lot. Two sides of the home are surrounded by hills and a creek that runs along the backside of the home. When enjoying the Hot Tub deck, you can hear the water running and enjoy complete privacy.
The home itself has a unique history as well being built in 1984. The owner cleared this lot and actually milled the wood right down the road (you pass the wood mill on the left as you get closer to the cabin from the highway). The home itself has some magnificent custom wood that was used including the beautiful cherry wood walls in the main room. We loved the fact that the wood beams in the main room came from trees right on site here.
In addition to that, downtown Sylva is incredibly charming and has surprisingly good food and drink. You'll have a blast exploring the 5 brewery locations between Sylva & Dillsboro, multiple farm-to-table restaurants and fun cocktail lounges. Some of our favorites include, Ilda & The Wine Cellar, The Cut Cocktail Lounge, Guadalupe Cafe & Haywood Smokehouse over in Dillsboro.

What makes this property unique
We curated the spaces in this home with relaxation in mind. We personally love morning hot tubs with a cup of coffee, a roaring fire in the wood-burning stove on a cold day, enjoying a latte and watching the bird feeders from the picture window above the custom bar area next to the kitchen, yoga on the screened-in porch while listening to the creek and getting the karaoke machine/disco ball rolling on the weekends in the basement bar area.
