Visiting the greater La Crosse area in our beautiful Mississippi River Valley Region but would rather stay outside of the city? Hokah is a beautiful scenic 9 mile drive from downtown La Crosse, along the river, marsh, farmland and bluffs to our quaint upstairs apartment in a 100 yr old building on Main Street.
Enjoy an excellent birds eye view to watch the steady stream of passers by. The road noise can be constant, so light sleepers should take to the back bedroom. Both bedrooms have black out shades and large closets.
The spacious kitchen comes equipped with a dishwasher and everything you should need to prepare meals to share around the large dinning room table. Let us know if we missed anything:
*drip coffee pot (grounds and filters provided)
*blender
*crock pot
*griddle (electric)
*toaster oven
*toaster
*rice cooker
*vegetable steamer basket
*strainer
*martini shaker & glasses *wine opener & glasses * wine rack
*seasonings: S&P grinders, pleasonings, garlic powder, everything bagel mix, onion powder, chili powder, paprika, rosemary, thyme
*coconut oil spray
*the fridge ice maker can clog up from infrequent use, there are ice trays for backup, all water into the apartment is filtered.
Guest have access to the entire apartment with the exception of a locked cabinet in the pass through closet and a locked drawer and door in the kitchen. Guests are not allowed on the rear fire escape, it is strictly for emergency exit only. (There is a trash bin just outside the door guests can utilize if they need to empty the trash during their stay.)
I am here for you during your stay, but our level of interaction is up to you. I'm only a phone call/message away. You will be able to self check in upon arrival with a coded lock.
Small town Main Street has a tattoo shop with walk-ins on Saturdays, a hardware store that has EVERYTHING, local cafe serving coffee, breakfast and lunch along with local goods for sale, bar/restaurants, nearby Como Falls, 12 min to downtown La Crosse, hiking, biking, and everything rivers & bluffs!
Free city parking lot adjacent to building, can fill up on weekends. Free street parking available.
★Must be able to climb stairs. Only access is up long flight of stairs.
★Guests are required to sign rental agreement (sent from Driftless Digs)
★Due to age of building, the heat/central air is controlled as one and not accessible from the unit. Fans and extra blankets are provided.
★Rear exit/stairs are STRICTLY emergency exit ONLY★
★Mahalo (thank you) for removing your shoes
★We've put a lot of effort into restoring the original wood work in the home, please be gentle and kind to the space, the building just turned 100 years old! ★everything has been repainted but lead paint may be present★
★Please remember that you are staying in a "house" and not a hotel. If any problem arises, we will do our best to take action ASAP, but there is no one living on-site 24/7.
★To disable or obscure the exterior cameras (recording devices) is prohibited
★No burning incense or candles.
★No Smoking or vaping inside the home, if signs of smoking are detected you will be subject to an additional $500 cleaning fee
★Please close apartment door at top of stairs to assist in energy efficiency when heat or central air is running.
★Although the unit has new windows and all the exterior walls have had extra insulation added, ladybugs, boxelder bugs and house flies still manage to find their way in from time to time. We treat the exterior of the building and the interior in an attempt to keep them to a minimum. *They are all harmless to people.
★Check out is promptly at 11am so we can clean for the next guests. Unauthorized late checkouts will incur a $50 fee. Guests staying more than 2 hours past checkout will be charged that day's base rate without discounts. This fee does not award you possession of the property for the day. If you want to extend your stay, you must formerly do so. Any refunds that other affected guests receive due to a late check out will be your responsibility to reimburse us.

Work hard, Play hard!
I love all things outdoors, wakeboard, snowboard, longboard, hiking, climbing, surfing, snorkeling, paddle boarding, biking, golfing, frisbee golf and up to try something new.
My husband and I enjoy renovating properties and transforming spaces.
We love to travel, especially to Hawaii and found vacation rentals to be welcoming and feel like home away from home.
We decided to start hosting to share those same feelings for family, friends and friends of friends and family, our Ohana.

Why they chose this property
We purchased the building for my husband, Colt, to open his own tattoo shop. When we were hunting for a building and came across this one, we ended up seeing the upstairs apartment first and absolutely fell in LOVE with the original hardwood floors, oversized trim and charm of the older building. We thought it would be a great space for traveling tattooers, our friends and family who come to visit.
