My partner and I have stayed in many cabins / cottages around Colorado and this property was one of our favorites. Many times the place isn't as pretty as it seemed in photos or is less comfortable, not the case with our stay, we were very pleased on both front! The home was very well equipped, especially in the kitchen, and had very reasonable requests on clean up during check out.
This was the perfect hub for my friend and In to stay for a girls trip involving hiking and a Red Rocks concert. Great location to unplug. This had everything we needed -2 beds, deck, fridge, easy access, lounge space, etc. I will definitely stay here again!
The house itself seemed clean but the outside images were very outdated and misleading. Giant weeds practically blocked the walkway, the host is unresponsive and there is zero cell service so make sure you have check in details before getting there. Windows without screens were left open so there were a lot of flies (including large horseflies) inside. I could see this being a better experience in fall or winter but would not recommend staying here in the summer due to the unkempt exterior and bugs. We were not comfortable staying with our baby so left the same day we got there.
Buyer Beware! We didn’t even get to stay here. After being non communicative for an entire week prior to my arrival (This host whose confirmation claimed feel free to ask questions) decided 2 hours before we were to check in to give us the check in instructions.I can only guess that she fails to tell you what the actual stay will be like until you are up against it to have a place to stay. One red flag was when she noted (at 2pm for 4pm checkin for the first time) that there was no cell service. When I asked her to explain as I have a medical condition, she told me I never should have booked in this remote area. But would not say her property was misrepresented and wasn’t going to refund. She hadn’t been transparent. How are you supposed to get a hold of her? What about a medical incident? But she calls it a modern mountain cabin? She said paramedics were 10 minutes away. So? Smoke Signals? The listing was inaccurate and nothing about it or the host was appealing. Thank goodness for diligent VRBO customer service who stuck with our claim. I’m not sure who checks these for accuracy but the rave reviews must have been from friends.
What a fantastic place! Clean, updated, awesome kitchen. Super comfortable beds! We really enjoyed sitting on the deck enjoying the Outdoors. Thank you so much, we will definitely stay again!
We loved our stay and would definitely come back.
It was nice to be away from the city in the fresh air.
The bed was very comfortable and we had no issues.
It worked for what we needed for a quick weekend trip to go to a Red Rocks concert. Cute little towns nearby.
It was such fun being at the cabin and watching the birds. It was near to Red Rocks, easy to get back to Denver to see the sights, yet out of the way in a lovely canyon. They put a lot of thought into the remodel and it shows!
We loved our stay, and the unit was just what we had hoped. Very spacious and peaceful! The host was very helpful and quick to answer any questions. We would definitely stay here again!
This was the cutest home-rental I've ever stayed in! Far enough from town where you feel alone with nature, but close enough to be convenient! The home is decorated very lovely, something you would see on a Pinterest board. Sophie provided plenty of extra towels, dishes, cleaning supplies... If you are visiting Red Rocks, this is a perfect place to stay!
This place was perfect for a long weekend getaway. It had everything you could have needed. It was decorated so cute although the bed was a little uncomfortable. Sophie was a wonderful host and she replied fast when we had any questions. I would definitely stay here again!
My husband and I took a quick getaway to see a concert at Red Rocks and decided to bring our goldendoodle along. The cottage, tucked away in the mountains, was the perfect escape. Check-in was seamless, and the lack of cell service wasn’t an issue for us—it actually added to the charm. We stayed on the first floor for easy access, though there was a unique upstairs room with a steep staircase that we chose not to use. Most of our time was spent on the deck, sipping coffee in the mornings and stargazing at night. Such a charming and peaceful place! If we’re ever back in the area, we’d love to stay again.
Cute place. Loved being away from the city. Quiet neighborhood. Close to redrocks. Loved spending time out on the deck listening to the creek and birds.
I would recommend this cottage to anyone looking to stay in this area. It is as charming as the pictures show, very clean and has all of the necessary little things you need to be functional (coffee machine, kitchen supplies, bath towels and etc). The host is so kind and responsive - she was amazing.
If you stay here, don’t miss out on going to Red Rocks. You’re too close not to go! Enjoy.

About the host
Hosted by Sophie Gregory
Luke & Sophie Gregory bought this home in 2019 when it was old and abandoned. We spent all of quarantine updating and renovating this modern mountain cottage into our getaway of our dreams. We hope to share the beauty and serenity of Deer Creek Canyon with visitors near and far.
Why they chose this property
What's not to love? The cozy cottage is surrounded by thousands of beautiful trees, wildlife, and peace and quiet. Hiking trails are within minutes, Red Rocks Amphitheater is around the corner, and both i-70 and Downtown Denver are accessible within 20 minutes.
