Unique cedar sided pole house designed by famous architect Stuart Resor. 4 bedrooms, with 3 private bathrooms.
Whitewater view of surf (and surfers) on 3 reef breaks from kitchen, dining room and living room. Walk to the beach.
Beach Toys are listed below
Central living area is upstairs with views .
Humming birds come to the feeders all day long.
The house is surrounded by 80 ft Torrey Pine trees.
Tropical garden below with 3 Koi ponds.

Outside living room, 2 kitchens and dining areas.
Summer months have one week minimum. June-September.

Toys: 2 bicycles, 4 boogie boards, 1 surfboard, beach chairs, coolers included.
July and August requires 7 nights if booking a weekend-any questions you may contact the owner. Any weekend booking requires a
minimum of a 6 night stay. Any holiday requires a 7 night stay.

Fantastic location with a 30-minute drive to downtown San Diego, short walk to a public beach, and a great ocean view from the balcony. We also appreciated having off-street parking, beach toys available to use, and some streaming services provided. The neighborhood is very quiet, making it a great place to unwind and relax. Would definitely stay there again.

William was very accommodating letting us check in early and check out late. The view is stunning and the location s FANTASTIC. The house is definitely a little quirky. I wish the outdoor space was a bit more together b/c is could be a fabulous space! But the location made up for it!

Peaceful stay

We had a lovely stay in Del Mar at this property. We really liked the different layout and loved the outdoor kitchen space. Close enough to walk into the town and visit the restaurants and walk along the beach.

Great location

The house is in an amazing location; walk to the overlook of the beach, walk to coffee shops and restaurants, and a short drive to other near by communities. Amazing views and very spacious. A well equipped and large outdoor kitchen. Awesome architecture!

This is a cool funky place to stay. Funky in a good way. We surf and like cool original houses. The back yard is great for grilling and chilling. Location is fantastic.

The sunset views from the deck were amazing. We enjoyed lounging in the “pond” room as we called it. The outdoor kitchen was well stocked and a great feature in this home. A huge thank you to the host of accommodating an early check in.

Amazing views

We had an excellent stay! The views are stunning and Will has provided binoculars to see dolphins, surfers, etc. It is an easy walk into town to enjoy some shopping or dinner. The outside kitchen was great and a lovely space to enjoy dinner. Will was excellent with communicating and was a great host. We would love to stay again!

We had a wonderful stay in this fun, creative, quirky house. The outdoor kitchen with surrounding koi ponds were what we liked the most, as well as the Del Mar location. Comfortable beds. Plenty of seating areas. Beautiful sunset views. Walking distance (1 mi.) to Powerhouse Park and the beach, with easy access to Del Mar restaurants and shops along the way. The only thing we thought needed improvement was to have better organized kitchen drawers and cupboards. The owner was accommodating and responsive. You should note that this is an older house and not pristine, so if you want an upscale resort setting, this is not the place for you.

Comfortable ocean-view home with interesting features

This was our second stay in this home. We especially enjoyed the upper level balcony with a view of the ocean; the ocean views from the living/dining/kitchen areas; the quiet setting; the proximity (ten minute walk) to Del Mar beach; and the series of interconnected koi ponds both in the back and in an enclosed indoor-outdoor room. A very desirable place to stay.

This is a wonderful, unique property. We had six 70 somethings and the house worked well especially the patio with koi ponds. That was lovely. The property owner is very responsive and easy to work with. The house has a great location. The only negative I would say is that if you are a clean freak, this might not be the house for you. If you can stand dust and clutter, this is a GREAT HOUSE!!! I am a clean freak and I was able to overlook those things because the rest was so fun! There is an ocean view from the upper deck and you can see the sun set into the ocean every night unless clouds obscure it. Since we are all from Kansas very far from an ocean, we really enjoyed this!

William has resorted my my faith in VRBO. He was so easy to deal with. No check out requests/demands, Direct communication, effortless, check in process. I highly recommend this property for adults. The view from the main level is breathtaking. The outdoor kitchen was perfect for our group. The koi ponds are gorgeous, but probably not ideal for small children. Great spot for anyone looking to enjoy north county.

An unusual home

We enjoyed our stay, but this home is different and may not be for everyone. The stairs could be a problem with small children and anyone with mobility issues. If you are looking for a comfortable, different place with ocean views in a beautiful neighborhood, this is worth a visit.

Fantastic place for a Del Mar getaway!

Our family really enjoyed our stay at Will’s unique home. Plenty of room for the 5 of us. Really convenient having 3 bathrooms. We especially loved the view from the upstairs living area and spent a lot of time on the balcony overlooking the ocean and beautiful sunsets every night. The outdoor living area and kitchen are charming with the koi ponds. Didn’t get a chance to use the outdoor kitchen, however, because it was a little chilly. Will was a fantastic host and very responsive. Location to beach and downtown Del Mar can’t be beat!

A Home Away From Home

6 of us spent 6 nights here while checking our granddaughter in at UCSD. Her take on the house: "its like your cool uncles house"! The location is perfect, the view from the main floor of the house is spectacular. The outside room, the backyard with all the koi ponds and outdoor kitchen area were so awesome we found ourselves always gravitating there. We had ample room to spread out. The house was clean and tidy, linens were clean. Communication with Will was super easy. We felt very comfortable and relaxed here and will definitely stay again if/when we come back as a group.

Creatively cool!

This property is unique, quirky and cool. The outdoor sitting and cooking areas are beautiful and relaxing. The bedrooms are very comfortable (although the upstairs bed is a bit hard). But the upstairs living and kitchen areas were the highlight with such a beautiful view of the sunset and ocean. Although you cannot see the beach, it is in walking distance. A lovely, creative, wonderfully cool home. Although the downstairs is handicapped accessible with walk in shower, the upstairs is not.

Other than a hiccup upon arrival and waiting occupy and to unpack, everything was great. Will, the owner, certainly went out of his way to correct the problem and stayed in contact as a courtesy which was most appreciated. Hoping to rent again in the future. Horrible experience

We told the owner we would be raring late at night. The key was supposed to be under the door mat. It wasn’t. There were no exterior lights and no key. We called the owner. No answer. We went to a hotel at 2 am. The following morning I booked another rental. The owner called at 9:30 and insisted there was a key. He was rude and augmentative. The only concession he offered was a free night at the end of our stay. Don’t rent from this person

We have hundreds of renters who have found the key under the entry door mat at night. We checked the very next morning and found the key exactly under the entry door mat as with all the other travelers. This person was unable to find that key for unknown reasons...after midnight. He called so late we were asleep. We called him when we saw a missed call the next morning at 8:00am We offered him an extra day and night for not finding the key-his own mistake. He refused the offer and wrote the above review. Owners-do not rent to this traveler...angry and unreasonable.

Love this place!

If you are looking for a kooky fun abode to stay in while in Del Mar this is it! If you are a clean freak, this is not for you! Not that it's dirty, but its hasn't been updated, so has some film of age. Luckily we are the former and not the latter. This is a charming house built in the 70's, with many unique features. The top room is incredibly relaxing with a full view of the ocean. The light system is retro space age. The kitchen is adequate, with accumulated utensils from over the years. The outside koi ponds are inventive, and if you have pets at home and miss them can transfer that to koi feed and care. Will is incredibly responsive and helpful. Each bedroom truly does have a bathroom, so easy to share with friends/family from afar. Beds are a big deal to us (back issues) - the upstairs bed has a nice firm mattress, and the downstairs rooms less firm, so options. The bed linens are premium quality. Would stay again, thank you Will!
