About this property
Gorgeous Deck View of Pike's Peak in Secluded Forest- 8 Acres; Excellent Reviews
Enjoy a tremendous view of Pike’s Peak mountain along with abundant wildlife in the beautiful Colorado Rockies. This newly-remodeled vacation rental home sits at 9,200 feet adjacent to the Pike National Forest. The cabin is perfect for couples, a family, several couples,, or anyone wanting to relax in the mountains any season of the year. This location allows guests to step out of a private mountain home into eight acres of alpine forest, with a short walk to a national forest. This vacation spot offers the best of all worlds; a comfortable home base for relaxing, exploring, and sightseeing, with the conveniences of home; a forest playground; plus the amenities from nearby cities.
This home is equipped with satellite TV both upstairs and downstairs. The two big screen TVs and DVD players are great for watching movies. Visitors will also enjoy the high-speed wireless internet access and the unlimited phone service for both local and long distance calls.
This is an immaculate home with new beds, furnishings, and appliances. The driveway goes to the front door. The cabin features four bedrooms, two bathrooms, a kitchen with adjacent dining room, a great room upstairs, and a cozy family room in the lower level. The kitchen, great room, and dining room are open for comfort and convenience. Both the upstairs great room and the lower level family room provide great gathering spots with large windows that bring in the sun and make it easy to view the mountains and wildlife.
The kitchen is fully equipped with appliances, utensils, dishes, and pans. A propane grill on the deck is available for outdoor grilling. All you need to bring is your food. The washer and dryer are provided with laundry soap and softener sheets. The towels and bedding are washed on high temperatures. The outdoor deck provides an exquisite daytime view of Pike’s Peak and clear nighttime view of the solar system. The backyard forms into a tree-covered valley for exploration and hiking. The wood burning stove will take the chill off a cool evening.
This is a great location for those wanting to explore the outdoors, yet remain close to the city and numerous attractions. The roads are well maintained. If wanting to explore beyond the cabin and surrounding forest, there are a multitude of things to do nearby. The cabin is located 15 minutes from Woodland Park (and 30 minutes from Colorado Springs), which has enough stores to provide about any product or service needed. There are many things to do year round in the Pikes Peak Region in addition to fishing, hunting, hiking, rafting, and skiing. The changing of the Aspen leaves in September is breath-taking. Summer time in the Rockies is unmatched, with average temperatures of 70 degrees, the Aspens in full bloom, and a sprinkling of wildflowers.

About the host
Hosted by Stephen burkelder
We are both educators who have always loved the mountains. We honeymooned in Colorado, return every summer, and long wanted to own a home in the Rockies.
Why they chose this property
We have friends living in this area who always raved about the Pikes Peak region. The view of Pikes Peak from our cabin was a selling point; you can watch the mountain change in appearance ten times a day. There is so much to do in this area, particularly within an hour's drive. It's centrally located in Colorado, close to Colorado Springs and Denver, and is easily accessible.
What makes this property unique
Some of the greatest benefits to vacationing here are the simple ones... totally relaxing, watching the hummingbirds and deer, experiencing the daily weather changes, and constantly seeing the mountains. Great fishing is nearby. And of course, the high-speed internet access!!
