Start your day kayaking, paddleboarding or with coffee by the shore], explore with bikes, trails, or our boat rental then enjoy evenings using the grill, outdoor dining area, and fire pit. Whether you’re here for adventure, quiet time, or family fun, the setting makes it effortless.


We will respect your privacy and let you enjoy your stay unless you contact us with any property issues or local suggestion inquiries. We are always available, this cabin is hosted by real people vs large property managers.

Guests have full, exclusive access to the property. Including the House, Waterfront, Screened in patio, Grill, Fire Pit, Boat Dock & Swim Dock & Lake Shoreline.

Welcome to North Star Retreat on Rock Lake & North Turtle Lake

Escape to a spacious, rustic-modern lakefront home on Rock Lake, connected to North Turtle Lake — full recreation lakes known for boating, fishing, swimming, and clear waters. Whether you’re here to relax by the fire, explore the water, or hit nearby snowmobile trails, North Star Retreat is set up for memorable stays in every season.

With a private dock, mostly sandy-bottom swimming, Starlink high-speed internet, pontoon rental, and room for up to 8 guests, this is the ideal Northwoods retreat for families and small groups.

The kitchen is fully stocked for everyday cooking and group meals, including:

-Pots, pans, dishes, silverware, and cooking basics
-Linens, towels, and extra pillows are provided.

Stay connected with Starlink internet, or unplug and enjoy peaceful lake views and cozy gathering spaces.

Step outside and enjoy classic Northwoods outdoor living:

WATERFRONT & BOATS
Included for guest use:
-1 dock (mid-May through September 30)
-2 kayaks, 2 paddleboards, and pedal boat

BOATING
-Pontoon Rental: We offer a pontoon rental at our property, $225 a day with a 2 day minimum. Or $1,200 for the week.
-Bring your boat and dock it onsite during summer months. Rock Lake and North Turtle Lake are full recreation lakes ideal for cruising, fishing, and water sports.

Beautiful property with the most amazing screen porch! Good on hot days, good on cool days, and perfect all around! Plenty of space to store your own food and a well-appointed kitchen.

This place is a complete gem! The porch alone warrants a 5-star review, but the whole place is wonderful. The yard is great for lawn games and toddler exploration, the house is easy for people who can't navigate stairs, and the upstairs is terrific for those of us who want to retreat for a bit (or longer). Amazing property!!!!

We came up to ride the bike paths and hike with our dog. This property was perfect! It has a flat backyard for our pup to play ball on, no stairs to the pier and a gorgeous screened in porch we sat on every night as it was cooler the week we were there. It was very clean and comfy, and the owners/management team were readily available. It was a fantastic week!Thank you!Sara B

We’ve rented many cabins over the years and this one is a standout! Comfy beds, well stocked kitchen, great seating in living area and on large screened in porch, plenty of dining and game playing space, and everything in working order was so appreciated. Excellent Property

The property was as clean as any we have stayed in. The home is well-appointed with all the essentials. The furniture was solid and comfortable. Having use of the garage was a huge bonus, as we were able to park our boat in there, (away from the mosquitos) while we prepped it for the water. We caught a 34" Muskie casting off the dock. The screen porch is a great place to hang out with the family on rainy days. We will be re-booking this property again!

Had a blast at North Star retreat

My customers and I very much enjoy this house. We have friends that live on this driveway/road so it was very easy to connect with them. The house was very accommodating, the kitchen was great for late night conversations and early morning story telling. My only complaint was that the house is set up for couples. 3 bedrooms 3 couples. We had 4 guys so one of us had to sleep on the couch. Still one of the best houses I have used.

Perfect!

The house had everything we needed and was exceptionally clean!! Very comfortable beds and furniture! We had an issue with the furnace the first day and someone came out right away and it was fixed by the next day...it was not an issue at all and gave us a good reason to use the fireplace. Enjoyed the kayaks and fishing. Went to Porcupine Mountain to hike, see Lake in the Clouds, waterfalls and Lake Superior. Rode awesome Winman mtb trails twice and the Vilas County paved trail. Dixie's has wonderful coffee and we had a good dinner at Aqualand Ale House, otherwise the kitchen was well-supplied with all the cooking equipment we needed. We would definitely stay again!
