Dirty and smells of cigarette smoke
I would not stay here again and I am sorry I rented it.
It was the dirtiest house I have ever rented. There were crumbs all over the couch, the area rug in the living room was covered in pet hair and leftover bits of food (incl an old noodle from some takeout, chips, cookie crumbs etc). The towels were badly stained and some were ripped. The shower had hair on the walls and beard shavings around the sink. The house smelled of cigarette smoke and masked with perfumed deodorizers in the outlets (not sure what odor was worse).
I requested new towels and bedding and for the space to be thoroughly cleaned, because I was under the impression that they had somehow forgotten to clean it, but when the cleaners arrived (without cleaning supplies) they assured me that they had cleaned the house.
The also said they don't have a vacuum and that is why the rug was so dirty (apparently if the rugs get really bad, they borrow a vacuum from one of the neighboring houses). I didn't want to cause a scene or argue and so I didn't pursue the matter.
It was an all round unpleasant stay primarily due to how dirty it felt. The host (Russell from Beach Box) did not check in after the cleaners delivered more stained towels and I did not want to get worked up trying to rectify the situation. I have the impression they aren't concerned about the comfort of their customers.
The water does have a very strong sulphur smell, but that is not what made the stay unpleasant, just added to it.
