Perfect setting, beautiful home, clean and comfy pool and hot tub. Very responsive and gracious host. My family of 4 had a memorable stay and took advantage of location with easy access to Joshua Tree NP as well as the awesome sound system.

The location of the property was great. Very close to the park and to places to eat and shop. The view was amazing and we loved the pool. The property's host was very communicative and helpful and responded immediately to questions.

Best views, close to town, a stress-free stay

I had the best time staying at Casa Altura. The view was amazing. The stars were visible every night and the sun rising over the mountains was spectacular. I’m glad I chose to stay here. It was so close to town that I could pop back in to rest throughout the day. Eddie was a fantastic host, checking in periodically to make sure my trip was going well. Also, everything was labeled in the house, which was incredibly helpful. I will definitely be back.

We had the very best time at Casa Altura. The home was spotless. It had all the amenities we needed to be super comfortable. Sunrises and sunsets were the best. The pool was super refreshing and the hot tub had great jets. Enjoyed watching quail and rabbits from the deck! When can we come back!!??

Group of 4 who came to Casa Altura for star viewing. Overall worked out very well. Very close (5 min drive) to Joshua Tree Natl Park, very well stocked kitchen and amazingly responsive host/management service when hot tub wouldn’t turn on. One small issue: the fridge had juice spilled in it upon our arrival.

Great way to enjoy Joshua national park.

Well maintained house. Kids enjoyed staying there with many books to read board games to play. This has become our to-stay place when we visit JNP. Lastly, Eddie was awesome communicating everything to enjoy our stay. Five star experience!!

Awesome Spot, Great Owner

I cannot recommend this place enough. The owner, Eddie, was incredibly attentive and responsive. The house is beautiful and well amenitized. The pool and hot tub were both clean and easy to heat. The proximity is great — walking distance to town and abuts a hike to an area with petroglyphs.

Casa Altura Review

This stay was an absolute treat! The property is as described (if not better) with a great view of the Joshua Tree landscape. Cleanliness, amenities, and location were a 10/10. On top of that, the property owner was helpful to share resources of the town and sights to see. They were always responsive with questions before, during, and after the stay and periodically checked in to make sure the stay was up to our liking. Such a great experience and I will definitely be back!

Desert Oasis

Casa Altura is a dream desert retreat! What a lovely property with an exciting canyon hike available right from the property! Great access to JT park’s west entrance and convenient to JT shops and restaurants. Eddie is a phenomenal host, the home is so comfortable and the kitchen is so well stocked with cookware and basics that you could pretty much cook anything. Great communication with the host and a beautiful property add up to an unforgettable experience. The old school analog stereo was a particular treat! Look forward to coming back!

Peaceful Getaway

Lovely stay and Eddie is a top-notch host! Pool and spa were superb! Everything is labeled and easy to find. The blinds are automatic - very nice feature. Lots of books and games available for time off the trails. The Trek deck was awesome and the motion sensor lights made going out at night easy. Beautiful views and ideal location. Very private and quiet property. We thought the beds (and the pillows) were a bit too firm and will bring pillow-top mattress covers when we return. The pull-out futon needs padding to be comfortable as well. There were flatter extra pillows available in the house which was a good thing for those of us with neck issues. There were no facial tissues and kitchen towels - not sure if that was a mistake or the usual. One pool towel and one bath towel per guest; so, you might want to pack spares. Telescope is missing the eyepiece; so, it's not really useable. There are binoculars available at the house. We brought our own but appreciated that there was a pair available.

Casa Altura Made Our Joshua Tree Adventure Exceptional!

Our stay at Casa Altura was a highlight of our Joshua Tree National Park trip! The proximity to Joshua Tree National Park was perfect and the original reason we landed on this home. The home exceeded expectations with its breathtaking views, well-equipped amenities, and an attentive host who kept us organized and ensured we had everything we needed. The sound system was a hit with my husband (of course U2 was playing non-stop), and our son thoroughly enjoyed the pool and hot tub. The full windows offered mesmerizing views, and the host's recommendations for restaurants and outings added to the experience. We only wish we could have stayed longer to explore even more. We definitely felt at home. If you are considering staying here, do it! You will not regret it. Thanks for helping us make our trip truly memorable!

Integratron weekend

Casa Altura is by far the nicest, cleanest, most beautiful and most relaxing place we have ever stayed in the desert. The pictures show how gorgeous of a house Casa Altura is but you really have to experience it in person to feel the good vibes. The pool, hot tub and view are to die for. The beds are super comfy and the house has all the amenities you need AND 2 bathrooms which allowed my partner and I to have our own areas. The location is 5 min drive from the west park entrance and its a 15 min walk down to the heart of J-Tree. It is an easy drive from there to Yucca V or out to Landers where we went to an Integratron sound bath and floated out to the 4th dimension. The owner, Eddie, couldn’t be more helpful or kind or communicative or welcoming. The instructions for entering and using the various appliances are clear and easy to understand. The views are insane and change every hour of the day. My partner and I enjoyed spying on the desert rabbits, roadrunners and coyotes that cruise around just outside of the property. My favorite moment was on our second night being awoken by the yip and howl of a coyote outside. Nothing more beautiful than that. We will definitely be returning to Casa Altura soon. Thank you Eddie for providing such a beautiful place to stay.

Next time, we stay a month,

Casa Altura is in a great location, and it was just our style. Here’s why - It’s adjacent to the park, close to downtown - It’s private without being secluded (you will not see you neighbors because they are not close, but you are also not in the middle of nowhere) - You will enjoy the expansive views from the main living space, from the large raised porch, and from the pool/hot tub area. - The main picture windows face east so you get the sunrise, and the interior will be shaded once the hottest sun of the afternoon comes. - The pool is on the east side of the house so it will be hot in the afternoon, but the house will shade the pool later in the afternoon making it a great lounging spot and for grilling on the deck. - The main living area has picture windows that give a great view while making coffee, cooking etc.lots of places to hang out, a nice seating area at the counter and also at a separate table all with extraordinary views. - Cooking: we’ve never stayed in a better stocked VRBO/BnB. Amazing. Well appointed with towels, blankets, washer/dryer, etc. Now the tech. - Every window has powered blinds so you can set the interior just the way you want (get just a little shade in the morning, then open all the way for the afternoon and evening, close at night if you want, or not). - The TV is large, it’s a Sony, movies look and sound great. And the Host has an eclectic movie collection on Blu-ray. - And while we’re on the topic of sound, THE STEREO IS AN ABSOLUTE HOOT! Vintage Pioneer receiver connected to powered DJ speakers. It sounds amazing. Just plug in your phone (though any of the normal means: USB-C, iPhone lighting, or miniplug) and you have your own little lounge going on. We loved it. There’s a turntable which we did not try, but yeah, style! - Internet was fast and reliable enough to hold an important business meeting if one comes up that you can’t avoid. We stayed there just the two of us and the place was more than large enough. It would be great for 4 as well because the living areas (inside and out) are really large so everyone can find space, pitch in while cooking, swim, hot tub, sunbathe, etc. If you have a much larger group, you should probably rent somewhere else more suited to that. Casa Altura has it going on, but it’s not a big party-house. And the Host. He’s great, you will have all the info you need, he made great suggestions, he’s responsive but never intrusive. The host has stye (there’s that word again). Casa Altura is exactly the kind of place you hope to find when scanning through the many-many VRBO options. We have our place in Joshua Tree for as long as the Host keeps renting it. That’s our best recommendation.

Beautiful views from the main living room/dining area/kitchen, as well as both bedrooms! Big windows will make you never want to miss a sunrise! Has all the amenities. We took advantage of the spa for nighttime star gazing. It's very close to the national park, as well as restaurants and shops. Eddie was very attentive and helpful. We definitely want to stay there again!
