House was nice but somewhat dated. Clean so no worries. Recommend staying. one NOTE: The thermostat for the house is behind the sliding barn door. Took us a day or so to figure out!
Came in to town to fish with several buddies. We had several questions to make sure the property would fit our needs and communication was awesome. Loved our stay and will definitely reach out our next time.
This is such a great property. The location is perfect and the house is charming with a perfect "homey" vibe. We loved the huge screened in porch. We look forward to a return visit.
This was our second year staying in this beautiful space! Our four teens do not love sharing rooms, so this house is perfect to allow great times of togetherness AND moments of space and peace. We just love the house and its location. It is quickly becoming a favorite place for my entire family!
We had another nice time at the happy place! This is our little slice of heaven to be in the Indian Pass area for our spring vacation. We enjoy the comfort of the home and closeness to the beach. It brings the right vibe and pleasantries as we kick back and relax. Thanks again!
Three moms, five kids. Plenty of room and well stocked! Christy was an excellent communicator! Super safe neighborhood and close enough to the beach that we could let our kiddos off leash a bit. We loved this place!

I am so glad you all had fun!! It was such an honor to have you all as guests and I enjoyed talking to you! I hope you stay in the future again!
My family and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at The Happy Place! You can tell that the home is very special to the owners, and you really feel at home when you're there.
The decor is bright and lovely, and the screened in porch is a great place to hang out for some quiet time.
Christy was super nice and helpful, answering questions and offering suggestions for places to visit, throughout our stay and before we arrived as well!
Nice clean house with an excellent location close to the beach. Communication with owner was excellent. Prompt responses to any questions. Definitely recommend renting the owner's golf cart - makes the vacation more fun and getting to and from the beach quicker and more convenient - especially handy if you need to restock beach goodies ;) would definitely stay again.
Located a short walk to the beach. The home was perfect everything you needed was there. Host even had extra food in pantry, spices and cooking oil. For you to use. Spotless inside and loved the screened porch lots of room to sit a the tv was a plus.
My husband and I had a wonderful trip. The house was perfect. It was clean and well furnished. The kitchen was well equipped and easy to find everything in. We enjoyed our walks to the beach to fish and look for shells as well as watch the sunrises and sunsets.
Thank you for sharing your beautiful home with us in this most perfect location. We have enjoyed coming to Indian Pass for several years now and hope to enjoy many more trips there.
This property met our needs perfectly as we needed a place to house our family and friends for a relaxing vacation. Everything was represented well and we had a great stay. The house's location and decorations make the experience feel like you have the total relaxing beach experience. We had one minor issue that was taken care of quickly. Overall, we were so thrilled to stay at this place and look forward to more adventures at Indian Pass in the future. Thanks Christy!
The house was amazing! My kiddos don’t like to share sleeping space so the house accommodated all of us well. Location, awesome. We had a tricky check-in but the issue had nothing to do with the owner or property. The issue was resolved quickly and thoroughly! Owner personally called and checked on me and my family. Would highly recommend!
Christy was amazing to work with! Great communication and quick to respond.
We had a wonderful week at this seaside bungalow. Loved being able to ride the golf cart everywhere! It was great fun. Highly recommend renting golf cart from St Joe Patio, first class service for sure! Thankfully Christy connected us to them in time to secure a golf cart for the week-it was actually in the driveway waiting for us when we arrived!
We found the home to be graciously stocked with everything…even dog bones. We were a group of 4 adults and we didn’t feel crowded within the space. The one bathroom was challenging at times, but we took turns showering first for dinner each day. Ha! There is another toilet and sink but they reside in a dim lit room with no A/C or circulation, so we kept that door closed. It shares the space with a washer & dryer which did come in handy for our towels. There is a rinse off shower outside which my husband and I both used on separate occasions when we just wanted to get clean while the bathroom was occupied.
The home has a unique layout which even includes an office space. My husband had a work webx call he had to take one day and this space was perfect. Internet speed was good and we had no issues with cell service.
We enjoyed being locals during the week and indulging in good eats and shopping in boutiques. We always have to eat at Indian Pass Raw Bar when we visit and loved being able to drive the golf cart there!
Thank you for sharing your home.
Stay away! The listing included a golf cart, a huge factor in choosing this home, but upon arrival, we found the owner lacked insurance for it so that we couldn't use it. The house was 78 degrees and got hotter with the AC running, reaching 80. After multiple calls, we contacted VRBO, and an HVAC tech arrived at 1 am. The next day, the owner refunded the first night and suggested renting a cart, but the rental place had none. That evening, the AC failed again. The owner gave condescending explanations and suggested keeping the drapes closed all day. On the third day, another HVAC technician came, disrupting our plans. The house was wretched. The twin beds were thin and crunchy, and the queen bed slid on the platform. The kitchen was dirty, with a filthy fridge and dishwasher. Coffee mugs had to be washed due to crusty shelf residue. Expired condiments made us wary of using anything. The laundry room had no airflow, making it a sauna. Clothes had to be hung to dry or run through the dryer 3 times. The closets were filthy and musty, so we lived out of suitcases. The front window was covered in dried dog slobber. The couch slipcover needed constant adjustment. The one full bathroom had a modest remodel, but there was a pile of hair under the toilet paper holder. We felt we wasted several thousand dollars. The poorly maintained, outdated home felt like a musty fish camp with cheap upgrades. The golf cart and AC consumed too much vacation time, and the owners were condescending.

Devon I am so sorry you felt this way. We did everything we could when the AC went out (which unfortunately is an unavoidable situation), we stayed up all night your first night finding an emergency HVAC technician who could come out and did at midnight to get the unit running again. He also came out on Monday morning (which was one day later) and Monday afternoon after multiple texts and calls from you to us requesting window units (which isn’t something AC companies provide) and stated the AC was working fine (you had it set on 70 and it was cooling at 70). I wish VRBO would give us the option of including snapshots of texts sent between you and I and give us the option of uploading pictures of the invoices from the AC Company stating everything was in working order. We also refunded your first nights stay due to the issue and we’re happy to do so for the inconvenience which you texted me and said was a “great solution”.
We have a picture of our golf cart in our listing (which we have since removed because of you), it clearly states under the picture that “our personal golf cart is NOT for rent, please contact St. Joe Patio at 850-229-1000 for rentals”. It also states that exact same verbage very clearly in our listing description for our home. After receiving the phone call from someone in your party demanding our golf cart keys, I explained all of this to you and even called St. Joe Patio to make sure they had a cart available (which they did) that they could deliver to you, I also told you about a few of our neighbors who offer golf cart rentals. We never heard anything about the state of cleanliness at our property from you and we work very hard to ensure our home is clean. I am beyond shocked, we truly care about our guests and go above and beyond to make sure they have a happy stay on Indian Pass. Again, I am sorry you felt this way. I truly wish you would have texted or called and communicated this to me instead of blasting us on a public sight. Reviews do influence people’s choice of where they stay on vacation and I hope that people searching our property could look past this and read all of the other reviews we have. Even our guests that stayed after you and checked in the same day you left gave us 10/10 on cleanliness etc. and had a great stay. This is very sad.
About the host

We are a family of three who absolutely love this area! We currently reside in Lakeland, Florida. I (Christy) spent my summers and many other holidays here with my family. In October of 2022 we were blessed so much when my Great Aunt's home became available for sale, some of my best memories growing up were made here. We decided to share the home which we now call The Happy Place for you and your family to make happy memories. We love hosting our home because we love hearing how much you end up falling in love with Indian Pass, it means so much to us!
Why they chose this property
Indian Pass is so much more than we could try to describe here, you absolutely have to see it for yourself to understand. We brought our little guy here when he was a year old and the freedom of just letting him run on a beach with no crowds was amazing! Our neighbors care so much about the Pass and there is so much History here! It truly is one of the best kept secrets! The sunsets are amazing and the shells you can find on the beach are plentiful!!
What makes this property unique
Our property is unique because of the love that has went into it and my hope is that you feel at home when you walk in. The home was originally a church in Port St. Joe and was moved to Indian Pass in the late 70's, my Great Aunt and Uncle owned the home and so many family dinners have been had on the porch. The stars are absolutely breath taking at night here and you can hear the waves from our porch. We have included top notch amenities also to help you enjoy your stay!!
