About this property

Extraordinary Mountaintop Custom Log Home w own pickle ball court

The well-crafted high-end home is clean and spacious. The many windows allow you to see the breath-taking mountain and valley views from inside. The main room has a 23’ wall of windows. The property has maintained wandering paths to various benches and hammocks so you can choose a perfect spot to read a book or nap. The ceilings and log walls in every room are extraordinary - a work of art! The night skies are void of any ambient light sans the Milky Way. Excellent dining choices, museums, churches, stores, breweries are nearby. The home has its own pickle ball court too!!

Perfect golf weekend
Very comfortable and well appointed house with stellar mountain and valley views. Excellent linens and pillows and great cooking kitchen. Hosts were very receptive to all our questions even late in the evening. Plenty of room for two couples and close to our favorite golf courses. A wonderful trip

You won't want to leave.
We loved it here so much. The view takes your breath away. A huge Golden Eagle greeted us in the driveway with a small snake in his talons. WOW. This place is so nice you don't want to go anywhere else. Even when there is pristine hiking and golfing so close by. Everything you could need is supplied and more. Spotless with such nice furniture inside and outdoors. WE LOVED THE PICKLEBALL COURT! It's designed so you are not running after balls. We love to rent unique homes and this one wins 1st place! Owner was so sweet to put up birthday signs and a lovely birthday card was waiting for me when she learned it was my birthday weekend.

Awesome log Cabin!!
We were looking for a special place to celebrate my husbands Birthday and came upon this property and decided it was where we’re going to go. We kept telling ourselves not to expect exactly what we see in the pictures because we have heard from other people that sometimes the places are not what they appear to be in the photos, I assure you this property is exactly as the pictures show, we even had deer outside our windows on the fist morning. The kitchen is well stocked with everything we needed. We weren’t able to do very many of the numerous outdoor activities due to rain but having such a great cabin with spectacular views made it easy to just enjoy our time together. The host on this property couldn’t have made us feel more comfortable, they are very nice and very organized for the guest ( loved the booklet they prepared for guest) We can’t wait to go back! Thank you Rob & Robyn so happy that you are willing to share this beautiful place with others.

Special Mountain Retreat
My wife and I wanted to celebrate our anniversary somewhere nice, quiet and close to nature. We found this cabin (cabin is an understatement) searching VRBO and took a chance, and we couldn't be happier. After stopping at the little C-Store across the dam, we started to wind our way up through the development of cabin properties. We were beginning to wonder if maybe the property wasn't going to be what we had hoped as it didn't appear that there were may controls as to what type of cabin need to occupy the land. Well as we continued to climb our worries quickly went away as we cam upon this magnificent mountain gem. It is a majestic log cabin with pave drive, large two car garage also log, sitting on top of a ridge with views that are absolutely stunning. I grew up in WY and UT and have spend plenty of time high in the mountains and the only views I have found better were sitting on a horse at 10k feet up in the Tetons. I would guess you have 50 miles of unobstructed views. Stepping through the front door, you are greed by a well appointed but comfortable mountain home, with a large gas fireplace, a back wall of glass making the most of the view, and a huge back deck to enjoy with a large gas fire pit. The home is beautifully built, not corners were cut in the construction, furniture is great, kitchen, baths, beds, all nice quality and very homey. We felt at home from the minute we walked through the door. I am out of characters, this place is good for the sole.

We are schoolteachers who love the outdoors. We work hard and enjoy teaching so much. Having this home allows us a space to recharge. We teach in the foothills about 2 hours away and right after school, we head up the mountain with our teenage son.

Why they chose this property

We traveled for 5 years trying to pick the perfect place for our future retirement home. We found we kept returning to the Lost Sierra area. In 2016 we found and purchased this home naming it the "RnR of the Lost Sierras." We come here for rest and recreation - romance too! We love camping but found that most campgrounds are noisy and not very private. The RnR allows us a place to retreat when we aren't at school. It is everything we wanted and more. It was an amazing place to quarantine during the pandemic.

What makes this property unique

We have privacy and the quietness we were searching for yet still close to shopping, restaurants, breweries etc. Reno is less than an hour away. We know that once a guest experiences the "RnR", they will want to return. We are very confident in that. We own the property next to this one; our first tenants have returned full time every summer since for the past 4 years. Even though we have owned this property for six years, it still feels like vacation every single time we are there. We feel so blest to be able to call this home ours. We are excited to share it with others.
