Located at Palm Island Resort on Florida’s Southwest Gulf Coast. No bridges or causeways to the island exist, which ensures a relaxed, tropical vacation setting.
The island resort encompasses a two-mile portion of private, pristine beaches on the northern end of Palm Island.
Guests travel to the island via car ferry and park their car in our island parking area. Transportation is provided by our bell staff and golf carts are also available for rent for registered guests.
Enjoy access to one of the 5 heated pools, plus hot tub and gas BBQ grills.
Tennis courts available for play and always complimentary.
Our recreation center, Coconuts, offers a variety of rentals to include golf carts, bicycles, kayaks and beach umbrellas.
A full service concierge can also arrange for everything from massages to fishing charters. Join a complimentary water aerobics class, nature walk or yoga on the beach when scheduled. This property is beautifully rehabbed with a brand new kitchen, modern bathrooms, gleaming hardwood floors, lovely furniture and two spacious bedrooms with king beds in each one. I have stayed at Palm Island six times, and this unit is clearly the best! It is amazing! Wish I could buy it!!

Being just 45minutes north in Sarasota, it's an easy drive but still feels like a great getaway! I always enjoy RumBay and riding around on a golf cart. Rental was cleanup on arrival. Staff was excellent! The only problem we had was the master bedroom bed is extremely uncomfortable. If that was replaced this place would be a gem. We truly enjoyed everything about this rental and look forward to renting this unit again. It was just what our family needed.

2nd stay in 1311

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Condo was clean and well kept. Fairly new renovations. Excellent view of the beach/gulf and easy access. Well stocked as well. We like staying in the original PI 1 as it is a quieter experience and a bit nearer the water.Unfortunately, the unit above was being renovated which in itself is not a problem. However, the workers were there when they were not supposed to be...evenings and weekends, so that did keep us from having the usual quiet, peaceful stay on the island (this was atleast our 20th trip to PI). Also, as they were laying flooring, some of the nails came through into the ceiling of the master bedroom.The construction, which we did not know about until we checked in Monday evening (and the workers were still there), was the problem. The condo itself was wonderful.

Wonderful Stay!

Reviewer Comments: We visited Palm Island Resort for the first time with many friends from college in support of a golf tournament that one of us was hosting. It was a great little hidden gem. The grounds were well kept and the staff was extremely nice. It was kind of hard to find the clubhouse but a friend who had been there before helped me locate it. The unit we stayed in (1311) was very updated but the sofa could use an update. The pillows are flat and probably need replacing on the sofa too. The beds were decent but the pillows were very flat. They are also due for replacing. Other than those small items, we truly enjoyed our villa. The restaurant choices are limited but that’s understandable being on a secluded island. Nevertheless, we had a great time and would return again.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The unit above ours was being rehabbed as a result of hurricane damage. Lots of pounding Monday through Friday while we were there. Think we should have been forewarned about that! Lovely beach, some birding to be done, very quiet at non- construction times. The whole set up is a bit confusing--drop the cart here, get keys there. Thought all of that could have been more clearly stated and in one place, not three! There is a handout on activities but it is not clear which are free (or maybe they all are??) and where they meet. All of that needs to be clarified. But we're on Bonita Beach now, and I already miss the quiet of Palm Island, the beauty of the beach. Wish we'd investigated off-island birding spots more. Our one meal at Rum Point was mediocre at best.

Our Happy Place

We were happy that one of our favorite units was available, B1311A, especially after Hurricane Ian.The unit is close to the pool and the beach and is beautifully appointed. This is the third time that we have stayed in this particular unit. As I mentioned, we have been coming here since the mid 1990's. The only drawback this time was the fact that we couldn't go in the water due to the seaweed and the developing red tide. It is extremely disappointing trying to explain to your grandchildren why it's dangerous to go in. Recent news reports warn of possible flesh eating bacteria in the seaweed along the Gulf Coast. Although the resort is not responsible for Mother Nature, one has to keep in mind the considerable expense incurred.

I'm guessing because of the hurricane a lot of people cancelled their reservations seemed NO ONE was there. I had the entire beach as far as I could see to myself on 2 of the days, the other days maybe 3 or 5 people were on the beach. he pool was empty everyday, I never saw anyone in the pool the entire stay. Needless to say it was a very peaceful QUIET experience. I loved every minute of it. The unit I stayed in was a bit worn down but the room was spotless not a speck of dirt or dust or sand anywhere and the outside of the resort was extremely clean.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We go away a few times a year to Marco Island, Naples and Fort Myers Beach but didn't know this place exists. In my search looking for a special at places we've been before as well as looking for a new place in those areas a special for Palm Island resort came up and I am so glad it did! We have been there over a half dozen times going in a few weeks again I make it a once a month trip! If you're looking for something different and only want to drive a few hours or are willing to fly here to the state of Florida this is the place to go there's nothing like it!
