Beautifully decorated home! The highlight was definitely the yard space and the covered hot tub. Nothing like it while looking up at the redwoods on a rainy night. Comfortable couch and nice dining space. Bedroom is cozy and great space if you have a dog.

Fantastic house with everything we needed for a full week exploring the area. The fire pit was a perfect way to relax after a long day. The kitchen was stocked with everything we could need. Excellent Getaway

The Vlack Nest was perfect for our weekend getaway. Close to the river, the city, and hard everything we needed for our stay. For anyone wishing to stay, highly recommend this place and the price point was perfect for our needs. Please note that there is a closet in the bedroom, it's behind the curtain haha!

Perfect Honeymoon Stay!

Having stayed at many a short term rental, there are three simple yet crucial things that make a stay go from good to great: clean digs, comfortable beds, and quality linens. The Black Nest has all of these things and much more. The location is serene, the amenities are quality (hot tub & fire pits especially), and there’s plenty to do in and around the area. Great getaway weekend!

Amazing little bungalow in the redwoods!

My husband and I booked a two week stay here, the property was absolutely amazing! Great interior design, the exterior gardens were also elegantly put together and serene. We enjoyed the fantastic hot tub in the evenings. Plus, it's all conveniently just a mile away from everything in downtown Guerneville. Will definitely stay again!

I fell for the "10/10" reviews, but my experience was far from it. While the property is "cute," the management seems more interested in fees than hospitality.The Math Doesn't Add UpFor a tiny 520 sq. ft. space, the costs are staggering:The "41-Hour" Stay: You get less than two full days unless you fork over an extra 150 to "upgrade" your check-in/out times.Cleaning Fee: A massive 240, yet the guest book is filled with "clean or else" threats. It’s hard to imagine a cleaner getting even a fraction of that for such a small space.The "Surprise" Fee: They hit you with a 90 NON-REFUNDABLE damage fee before you even step through the door.The "10/10" IssuesDespite the premium price, the maintenance was severely lacking:The "Cold" Tub: The hot tub never actually got hot.Bird Poop: The patio furniture and deck were covered in it. Clearly, the 240 cleaning fee doesn’t cover the outdoor living space.Dirty Windows: Hard to enjoy the view through streaks and grime.Furniture: The couch feels about 100 years old—completely lost its support.Amenities: No ice machine and the kitchen equipment is barely usable.The Biggest Red Flag: PrivacyThe property has hidden door cameras that were not disclosed. We didn't realize we were being filmed until after we had walked to the (cold) tub in our "birthday suits" several times. Beautifully decorated, perfect location to downtown Guerneville. The hot tub was a nice bonus. My best friend and I stayed here for a Bestie getaway weekend and we didn’t want to leave! Great place for two friends or a couple.

Gorgeous place!

The house is stunning, as are the surroundings. Very convenient to the river, restaurants, hiking and wineries. Even with such great proximity, the position of the house makes it feel very private and secluded. We loved getting takeout and enjoying dinner and wine outside. Definitely recommend!

Cozy and tastefully equipped

Black Nest is conveniently located and tastefully decorated. We enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend the property. The hosts were welcoming and had a small bag of supplies for s’mores which our kids really enjoyed. Though the property is small, it’s well equipped and we had everything we needed. It’s conveniently located with easy access to downtown and the beach. Our kids specially enjoyed the hot tub and outdoor heaters that made for a fun evening activity with s’mores.
