About this property
Historic headquarters of city founder! Gated parking!
Historic brick cottage has its own granite monument on Main Street. Private gated parking, huge fenced front yard. A history buff’s dream! So many restaurants and shops, Frontier Park, parades, festivals and fun!
Very comfortable sleeping - queen bed in the bedroom and gel foam mattress on the sofa bed in the living room.
Parking is at a premium on Main Street, but you leave the car and walk everywhere, knowing your car is inside the gated area waiting for your return. There is room for four cars, or even an RV!
Check out the City’s website for all of the activities going on in the area. The holidays are especially fun with special events like ice carving contests, costumed characters, singing on the street corners, and Santa parades. Festival of the Little Hills, OktoberFest, and Fourth of July fireworks on the river are just a few of the things unique to the Historic District.
Some favorite restaurants on Main Street are Old Millstream, Magpie’s, Salt and Smoke, Llewelyn’s, and Novellus - and there are many, many more!

About the host
Hosted by Lynn

I was a host at a previous property for a year and was booked every weekend! I met the nicest people and was able to recommend restaurants and activities they might enjoy. Then I sold that property and decided to make my little historic property available on Vrbo. I had lived there for three years but needed more space for my many hobbies!
Why they chose this property
So many people have wanted to rent my little house on Main Street before it was even ready! It was an archeological dig site from 2004 through 2014, and they found so many artifacts dating back to the days of city founder Louis Blanchette and beyond. The house is located perfectly for walking or driving access to Frontier Park, lots of restaurants, Ameristar Casino, unique shops and the Streets of Saint Charles.
What makes this property unique
Parking can be a challenge on Main Street during busy times, and this house has private, gated parking in the back on Riverside Drive, overlooking the park and the river. The closest restaurant (Old Millstream) is literally 53 feet down the front sidewalk, and the one across the street (Magpie’s) is just as close! Schlaffly’s is on the corner, just on the other side of Old Millstream. The Lewis and Clark Boathouse and Museum are a short walk and well worth visiting. Main Street and Frontier Park host many parades and festivals throughout the year that are unique to this river town.
