Wonderful private mountain retreat! The views of the sunrise over the mountains are spectacular, and the home is so private. Lots of room and privacy for 3 generations to come together for the week, yet have quiet time when needed. Would definitely rebook!

Victoria, Thank you for the wonderful review and 5 star rating-which I take pride in. It is my goal to make this home as welcoming to travelers as it is to our friends and family! It is too great a place to not share it with others. It is because of guests like you (and so many others!) that we continue to offer our home on VRBO.Thank you! Lisa

It was another beautiful stay at Horizen House. We have visited 3 times and on each occasion the house was spotless and the property was tidy. Lisa provides thoughtful touches like small toiletries for the forgetful traveler, and in the kitchen, tea bags and plentiful spices. It seemed that several of the deck chairs had been retired and new ones put in their place. Thank you Lisa for being attentive to periodic upgrades and maintenance! We always leave Horizen House feeling refreshed.

It was one of the most beautifully decorated places I’ve ever stayed at! The views were astounding, hot tub was a big bonus, and very convenient to wineries & breweries. The host was very kind & accommodating. I definitely want to go back. If you go over holidays, check out the lights at Veritas Winery.

10/10! This home exceeded all of our expectations. It was absolutely beautiful, and the photos don't do the views justice—they are truly stunning. We booked a two-night stay for our anniversary to unwind and relax, and it was the perfect getaway. We also enjoyed a wine pairing dinner at nearby Hazy Mountain Vineyards & Brewery, which is an absolute must-visit!When I say they thought of everything, that's still an understatement. Every detail was carefully considered, making our stay incredibly comfortable and memorable. This home will honestly ruin you for other vacation rentals! We can't wait to come back, this time with friends, so we can spend even more time enjoying this amazing place. Thank you for sharing your beautiful home with us!

Oh my god this place is AMAZING. Lisa was just beyond words with everything in the house to her communication before/during arrival. The views are spectacular, it’s so peaceful and the best place to go to just get away from it all. Managed to get to some nearby wineries/breweries/distilleries as well, so it was the perfect balance.

Thanksgiving family stay

We've stayed in Charlottesville every year around Thanksgiving to visit my father who is in a nursing home nearby, and this was our favorite house in 10 years! The views were incredible, the house was gorgeous and our host was so thoughtful about accommodating us and providing us with everything we could need while staying there with my family. Would highly recommend!
