Location: Luquillo, Puerto Rico, is a quaint and tranquil little seaside village, uniquely located 40 min. from San Juan International Airport, 10 minutes from El Yunque Rainforest entrance and 10 minutes from Fajardo.

Whether you are looking for a romantic getaway or spending quality fun times with your family, our condo is the perfect place.

Of the 3 buildings in the Playa Azul complex, building #1 is the only one located right on the beachfront. This beautiful apartment, is located on the 12th floor of Playa Azul, building #1, with an amazing panoramic view of the ocean, Throughout the apartment, floor-to-ceiling windows provide a cool ocean breeze and breathtaking views. Ceiling fans keep the apartment cool.

The apartment is well furnished. Two air-conditioned bedrooms overlook the ocean, each with full private bath and walk-in closet. (One has a queen size bed and French doors opening onto the balcony; the other has 2 queen beds and a spectacular view of the ocean). A well equipped kitchen includes a 4 burner stove, a dishwasher, a washer/dryer, coffee pot, a countertop oven and a microwave oven. The living room has a 60-inch flat screen Smart HD-TV with cable and wireless Internet connections.

Amenities on the premises include: Private parking lot, a swimming pool, tennis and basketball courts. There is full security at the front gate and lobby. Amigo Supermarket, Walgreens Pharmacy and a Banco Popular ATM are available within walking distance.

Located in front of the Building #1, the Playa Azul Beach is not usually crowded and the sand is clean. Beach chairs and a small cooler are available in the wood box on the balcony for your use. If you prefer a beach with calmer waters, including amenities and lifeguards, the famous Balneario Monserate Luquillo Beach is only a few minutes drive from Playa Azul. A bit further, are the famous 'Kioskos of Luquillo' where you can delight in good local cuisine. Otherwise, you can drive to more upscale restaurants in the area.

The apartment has a guest book with suggestions of where to eat and activities available in the area. You can hike to beautiful waterfalls or zip-line in the rain forest, book a snorkel trip, kayak on the bioluminescent bay, scuba dive in Fajardo, rent jet skis at Luquillo Beach, go horseback riding or ride go carts at Hacienda Caraballi, go to the casino at a nearby resort hotel or take day-trips to Old San Juan, Ponce or the Camuy Caves.

*** Guests should be aware that the Playa Azul Beach, in front of the building, has strong currents and ripe tides and while people frequently swim there, caution is strongly advised with different color flags on the beach.

Communication was excellent, and the view was outstanding from the 12th Floor balcony. Great breeze throughout the unit, AC units worked very well, place was very clean, no bugs! Fully equipped kitchen, washer/dryer, TV, Wi Fi, etc. Great location to access El Yunque, Luquillo Beach, Fajardo, Ceiba for ferry to Culebra/Vieques, Old San Juan, and Santurce.

Our stay was absolutely perfect! The property was right on the beach — we could hear the waves from the balcony and walk straight onto the sand in seconds. Everything was clean, well-kept, and stocked with thoughtful touches like beach chairs and coolers, which made our beach days so easy and enjoyable. The location couldn’t be better — close to great restaurants, kioskos, and just a short drive to El Yunque. The host was friendly, responsive, and made us feel completely at home. We’ll definitely be coming back!

Communication was excellent and the condo was very clean. The location was perfect and just steps away to a very family friendly beach. The view was incredible! Also got some delicious rum cakes from Bonnie.

PR Heaven!

We had an incredible experience at this property! View was unbeatable and the area was easily accessible to many great beaches and restaurants. Be sure to eat at La Fonda. Best restaurant we had all week. Bonnie the neighbor was kind and welcoming with her sweet pup Pepido and delicious rum cakes. We loved our time here!

Owner thought of everything

We enjoyed our stay - the owner thought of everything, from placements to beach chairs to well thought-out comments and guides! Super clean and tasteful decor. The only problems we had was loud construction above our unit in early mornings but we were given a partial refund, so that would a nice gesture for the disturbance.

Wonderful Views & Breezes

My husband and I stayed for 3 nights with another couple. There was plenty of room for the 4 of us. The condo was clean and the property manager Winnie was readily available to address any concerns. The beds were comfortable and the A/C worked very well in both bedrooms. The views were amazing and the breeze that flowed through the condo when the windows were open was awesome. Mosquitoes were not a problem. We found a great snorkeling spot a ways down the beach to the left, thanks to Bonnie, the “Rum Cake Lady” who lived a few doors down from the condo. She told us where to find excellent snorkeling and sold us some of her delicious, homemade rum cakes. Her Goldendoodle, Pudpeto (I’m probably spelling that all wrong), greeted us and even gave hugs, every time he saw us :) We highly recommend and would stay here again.

Amazing place and views

This condo is a hidden gem in Luquillo. Right off the beach, the building is beautifully placed. The morning sunrises and walks on the beach were amazing. The sounds of the Atlantic Ocean can be heard throughout the Condo. The location is secured and amazing. The hospitality of the host is phenomenal. Easy check in and check out. It is central to so many activities. We will definitely book again.

Girls’ 40th birthday trip

We had a wonderful stay at the Playa Azul I condo! The condo was even better than the pictures in the listing, as the kitchen has been completely remodeled with new cabinets and all new appliances. The A/C in the bedrooms worked perfectly, the beds were comfortable and we had plenty of hot water. The cross-breeze through the unit was lovely. You can’t beat the views of the ocean and beach! We also really appreciated that there were beach towels, beach chairs and a cooler that we could use. We enjoyed the proximity to El Yunque and Fajardo, and all agreed we picked the perfect place. We would absolutely recommend this unit to anyone considering a trip to Puerto Rico!

We enjoyed our time at the apartment located at Plaza Azul 1. The apartment was clean, appliances modern, and the view was spectacular. Check in and check out was a breeze. The Property Manager was courteous, quick to respond, and answered our requests for additional information. The apartment had a relaxing and breezy atmosphere and the sound of the ocean every night was amazing. I definitely recommend and we'll certainly rent again for a future stay. Breathtaking Views!

We LOVED our stay! The views are unparalleled, the breeze was too. They have windows on both sides of the apartment making it feel like you’re standing on the bow of a cruise ship. The beds were comfortable and we had everything we needed (including reliable Wi-Fi for work) during our 1 week stay. The apartment does have amenities such as a pool etc but we honestly spent all of our time on the beautiful beach. Playa Azul can be a bit rough with kids so we also drove the 3 minutes to the Luquillo Kiosks and enjoyed those beaches which are calmer for the kids! Don’t miss dinner at La Estacion in Fajardo either… best meal we had the entire trip! We can’t wait to come back :)

HEAVEN ON EARTH!

This property is a gem! The location is amazing; it was a quick drive from San Juan and very centrally located to many surrounding attractions. The quick access to the beautiful beach was unparalleled. Walking distance to Luquillo center where there are some cute restaurants. We even went on a night where there was an open air market and live music. The apartment is clean and quiet and spacious. Communication with management was seamless. The neighbors to the unit are even friendly! Neighborhood safe! 2 minute drive from a grocery store. The kitchen is stocked with all materials necessary to cook. Pick this property as your next vacation spot!

Clean apartment

The apartment was overall good. A couple of things that we noticed. The air conditioner makes a loud noise so we haven't used it we had to use the ceiling fan all of our stay when sleeping. Other thing is that the dining table is in the balcony (this is an open space) and there are a lot of moths at night if you want to eat in the apartment. This was very annoying for us, unfortunately. Regarding the location you will need a car for groceries and restaurants. The apartment was clean and the checking process was easy.

Beautiful views!!

My family and I had the best experience in Puerto Rico. The condo was just as described. Check in exactly as it said and easy, clean, beach supplies. Location for us was perfect. Close to San Juan, rain forest, bioluminescent bay, and Las Playlas. All things we wanted to experience there and could have used 2weeks instead of 1. Condo had an entire binder of things nearby that was helpful. We ended up there in a tropical storm which was a bit scary, our flights were canceled and owners were so nice to accommodate us for 2 extra nights. Property manager responded to any questions promptly. Made sure we knew what to do and were safe. Power was out for two days and no elevator for a day but we can deal with that and we’re just glad everyone was safe. We were greeted by the neighbor Bonnie and her dog papido. She is the rum cake lady that has delicious cakes. She gave us all kinds of information and even helped us book the bio bay excursion. We are from the south and felt southern hospitality for sure. We traveled with 3 16y/o and a 21 y/o and everyone in our family had a great stay. Felt safe and property is gated. Would go back.

Breathtaking View

My husband and I stayed with our 15 year old and 2 year old. The view is the reason I picked this place and it did not disappoint! I sat for hours on the balcony and just listened and watched the water. We ate breakfast every day on the balcony.. I loved that the two rooms were separated by the living room as our 15 year old could have some privacy. Everything we needed was there: kitchen utensils, adequate towels, bedding etc. Please note that additional trash bags and toilet paper are not provided so you will have to purchase more...not a big deal. The one note I would leave for management (as I know the owner does not live close) is that the kitchen could be slightly cleaner...there seemed to be some built up grease on appliances and the floor wasn't super clean....small issue in the big picture. The location is ideal, there is a grocery store across the main street as well as the kiosks just down the road. We would DEFINITELY recommend this place! We enjoyed our trip so much and loved having the apartment as our home base.

Great property and location, but issues with the TV and communication with Property Manager

The view is beautiful and the issues we had were probably unique to our stay, but there are two main complaints: We followed the directions carefully, but the TV would not turn on. I brought this up to the property manager (“PM”) the second day of our six-day stay. . .PM responded the next day asking if I followed the directions and offered to come by and look at it; I responded that we were at the apartment for the next hour or so and asking her to come by and check out the TV, we didn’t hear from her until she provided checkout instructions (3 days later). We don't watch much TV, but it would have been nice to let the three little ones watch some cartoons so we could sleep in on Tuesday, Weds., or Thursday of our vacation. We did however get an email on our third day saying that the building would be pressure washed and painted during our stay and the PM asked us to “keep balcony windows close and the balcony chairs inside". I responded that I would try and keep the windows closed and chairs inside, but don’t feel like this should have been something I should have had to worry about/deal with—this should have been communicated to us sooner, considering we paid full price for our stay and the balcony is the main feature of the apartment. We loved our vacation to Puerto Rico but will probably look for a different place to stay next time since the PM did nothing to reconcile the situation.

We spent six nights at this condo and enjoyed every second. The pictures are accurate and the view is incredible. The location is ideal! We did everything that we wanted to during the day and still had time to relax in the evenings. Loved that it’s gated with staff present at all times. I felt very safe and never had a concern. Bonnie sells delicious cakes (with rum or without) down the hall and her dog, Pupido, is precious. Can’t wait to plan our next trip back. It’s an amazing place to enjoy with small children or just adults. Love, love, love!!!

The view is gorgeous. I was initially worried about only having a/c in the bedrooms, but the breeze through the unit was amazing- I wouldn’t have even turned it on if we had it. The beach outside is beautiful. Everything looked newly updated. Will book again!

We have been coming to Playa Azul since 1998 for family vacations. We did not want a resort atmosphere and chose Playa Azul because it is a quaint, low key beach village with nice beaches.

It is very accessible to nearby points of interests, such as The Rainforest and various activities in Fajardo, including the Bioluminescent Bay.

It is within a reasonable driving distance to the airport and San Juan. (40 min.)

It is within walking distance to the beach.
