About this property

Enjoy a unique retreat at this funky & fabulous Mini Cabin in Suck Creek Canyon where swimming holes, hiking, paddling, fishing, and climbing abound. This distinctive spot is both a place of respite for those seeking time in nature and conveniently located to downtown Chattanooga. Within close walking distance are seasonal blue holes to take a dip in Suck Creek. The Cumberland Trail wanders close by and the Tennessee River is less than a mile away!

The Space:
This hand-crafted cabin was built using timber from the surrounding forest. It is quirky, unique, and fun with lots of tiny touches and details to explore. Enjoy your time on both decks where you can watch the moon rise above the mountain view.

We have a fully equipped kitchen with everything you'll need including pots & pans, dishes, cutlery, coffee, tea, spices, an electric range & oven, microwave, French press & drip coffee maker. Our living room, with a unique round window that's perfect for bird watching, has a couch that transforms to accommodate a twin sleeping space. Upstairs has a bedroom with a queen size bed, windows overlooking Suck Creek with a view of Signal Mountain, reading chairs, and a smart TV. Also upstairs is the bathroom with a giant walk-in shower with shampoo, conditioner, and body wash there for you. We have a small washer & dryer for your use as well.

Mini is one of three cabins on our property where our family has been working for years to create a rare space for our guests to enjoy. Each cabin was either built by us from local materials or remodeled by us to be a unique space for you to experience. Born and raised here in Chattanooga, this land is the place we choose to raise our children - surrounded by nature and the incredible beauty of the Tennessee River Gorge.

Please Note! This cabin may not be the best spot for exploring toddlers as the staircase and landing are open. Be sure to take that into consideration if booking with children. Also, Suck Creek Road can be noisy at times. To help with this, we have a sound machine and a fan for your use. Also, our cabin is in the woods. While we do our best to keep nature on the outside, life can sometimes find a way in.

We straddle the Eastern and Central time zones. Be aware that cell phones may alternate between the two when in this area, but we abide by Eastern Standard Time (as does Chattanooga).

Romantic Getaway

The property was natural and welcoming! It was a delight to see the little members of the forest school!! The cabin was cozy and everything we needed! Convenient to parks, trails and river and we loved Drifters!! We recommend and look forward to a return visit! Thanks Susanna and Andy for your hospitality!!

Clean cabin with great location

Very impressed with how clean the cabin was from the sheets/bedding to the dishes/floors. Excellent central location to all of the hikes and scenic lookouts. Host was very helpful and communicated effectively.

need tv downstairs instead of upstairs. Need new outdoor chairs and lights. traffic on road behind cabin to busy enjoy sound of river ! shower was fantastic could use a hand held as well though! enjoyed most of it !

Loved the tiny cabin - we'll be back!

We were in the area to visit our son and his family in Signal Mountain - this cabin was perfect for us. It's so cute, clean, charming and funky! We loved watching the woodchuck in the morning, being in the woods and hearing the birds. Thank you for a great experience - we'll be back!

Our property backs up to Prentice Cooper State Forest and its over 25,000 acres of semi-protected land. There are limitless adventures to be had just out the front door. AND downtown Chattanooga is an easy15 minute drive from the Mini Cabin. So, when you're done exploring the woods or Chattanooga's innumerable attractions, you'll appreciate coming back to the comfort of the Mini Cabin to relax and unwind.
