The space:
We love hosting and are always excited to be able to share this peaceful place.

When you enter: you will find a spacious foyer, a half bathroom, and a washer & dryer. Turn the corner and you're in our full kitchen, equipped with everything a budding chef would need. The dining room has a table for 6 and a record player with our small collection of vinyl. Cross the hallway into the living room which has a wood burning stove, TV with Roku for streaming, DVD collection, board games, and a dog bed.

Upstairs is the master bedroom with king bed, large closet & en-suite full bathroom. There are also two queen bedrooms; one with a handmade bed, hanging chair and large closet space. The other has the largest closet, wonderful handmade touches, desk space & a gorgeous view. The last room on this floor is the family bathroom with bath & shower. The bedrooms and bathrooms should have everything you need for a relaxing getaway, including all sheets and linens.

We love to sit on the porch with a morning coffee or evening wine from a local winery and just enjoy all of natures noises, sounds & lights.

We also have a garage loaded with outdoor games, lawn furniture, and a charcoal grill.

There are two fire pits, a hammock, an outdoor dining area in the backyard, and lots of space to explore! Firewood is provided.

We now have high speed fiber internet that was just installed recently, with 100mbps download and upload speeds!

——

Shenandoah National Park is a stones throw away and can be reached in about 20 minutes to the Swift Run Gap Entrance. We have plenty of hiking maps & info booklets around the house.

We are surrounded by vineyards and wineries, 5 of which are 10-20 minutes away, but even more if you want to venture farther.

Some other places you might want to visit:

Massanutten Resort (skiing, waterpark, golf): ~35 minutes
Charlottesville, the University of Virginia, Monticello: 35-40 minutes
Harrisonburg and James Madison University: 40-45 minutes.
Luray Caverns: 1 hour

——

Guest access:
You will have full access to the entire house, with total privacy. Nobody else lives or stays on the property. The farmhouse is set on 4 acres of land with a hammock, swing, two fire pits and plenty of room for outdoor games. There is also access to the creek, which is located just across the private road and up a short trail.

——

Other things to note:
–The house is located on a private gravel road with a gate. It can be bumpy and steep in spots, but any vehicle should be able to navigate it. There is ample parking space at the house.

–Up to 2 pets at a time can stay, and must be up to date on tick & flea preventative care. There is a $40 fee per stay (not per day), to help account for the extra time it takes to clean after a pet has stayed.

We have yet to encounter anyone who has not been able to get cell phone reception at the house, so you should have at least some reception regardless of your carrier.

You're welcome to have visitors during your stay, but please no overnight guests or parties.

We (owners and hosts Julie & Seth) live in nearby Charlottesville with our 3 children. We absolutely love being able to share this hose with people and strive to provide an excellent stay for all our guests. We’d love to host you and your family & friends!

Why they chose this property

We found out that the owners of this house were looking to sell though a friend in 2021, and we fell in love with it immediately, from the stone walls, to the full-length porch to the cozy wood stove to the proximity to Shenandoah National Park. We feel fortunate to have it and love to stay there when we can.

What makes this property unique

"It's like a little oasis" is how the previous owners described it, and we agree. It feels completely private and serene, but you're not far from civilization.
