The space: We love hosting and are always excited to be able to share this peaceful place.
When you enter: you will find a spacious foyer, a half bathroom, and a washer & dryer. Turn the corner and you're in our full kitchen, equipped with everything a budding chef would need. The dining room has a table for 6 and a record player with our small collection of vinyl. Cross the hallway into the living room which has a wood burning stove, TV with Roku for streaming, DVD collection, board games, and a dog bed.
Upstairs is the master bedroom with king bed, large closet & en-suite full bathroom. There are also two queen bedrooms; one with a handmade bed, hanging chair and large closet space. The other has the largest closet, wonderful handmade touches, desk space & a gorgeous view. The last room on this floor is the family bathroom with bath & shower. The bedrooms and bathrooms should have everything you need for a relaxing getaway, including all sheets and linens.
We love to sit on the porch with a morning coffee or evening wine from a local winery and just enjoy all of natures noises, sounds & lights.
We also have a garage loaded with outdoor games, lawn furniture, and a charcoal grill.
There are two fire pits, a hammock, an outdoor dining area in the backyard, and lots of space to explore! Firewood is provided.
We now have high speed fiber internet that was just installed recently, with 100mbps download and upload speeds!

Check-in was easy, kitchen was well-stocked, WiFi was great. Bedrooms were really nice and the Master Bedroom mattress was perfect. We had a great stay and enjoyed having our two dogs with us.
Lovely house with plenty of room. It has everything you need for a great vacation. It is very close to the National park entrance. We enjoyed hiking in the park, coffee and conversation on the porch and games at night.
Great stay, very accomadating. Feels just like a real home with real amenities, not somw quick junk bought at walmart to fill a vacation rental . Would definitely recommended staying . Even saw a bear !!
Perfect location! Completely private yet convenient to everything we wanted to do. Our hosts could not have been more accommodating. They were so quick to respond and made the entire process simple.
Our family of 4 stayed at the house. Everything was as described, and we appreciated the owners' attention to detail. We enjoyed being in the woods and would stay again!
The property is everything the listing says! It is private and stocked. We would love to go back in the summer and truly explore everything it has to offer!
Seth was super helpful when we had a minor issue with security code access (we didn't miss a beat). The home was lovely in many ways, but the things that we really enjoyed: An amazingly well-stocked kitchen. Normally, I hit a grocery to pick up staples before I check in. That was unnecessary. Cooking oil, butter, spices, coffee, you name it were all provided. Wonderful! The cookware and flatware were a bit mix-and-match, but there was plenty for our needs, and frankly it added to the lived in feel. But we really loved the wood burning stove/fireplace. It made a Christmas stay feel all the more Christmas-y.
My family loved the location and coziness snug up against the mountains. The kitchen was fully stocked and we really enjoyed cooking there. Perfect place to spend New Years.
We were visiting a client in rural Virginia and a hotel just didn’t make sense. The location as perfect and beautiful. We were so comfortable in the house and it was the best place to decompress after long days!
Very private location, clean, roomy home with plenty of lovely touches to make this a wonderful
Time away with family. We really enjoyed the outdoor fire pit and dvds and games the house had the offer. Bonus of some personal extras left by the hosts - fresh eggs and coffe were much appreciated!
The house was beautiful and all the amenities you would need. My kids love the toys there and all the baby chairs and playpen etc was a very thoughtful touch. The rooms were very spacious and very clean. We had a great trip as a family. Kids 7yrs old, 5 yrs old, and 8 months. Highly recommended
The property is well maintained, spacious, and welcoming. The home is clean, we felt like we were being hosted by friends. There was great information left helping us to find interesting things in the area. We appreciated the recommendations for food and wineries and hikes. My dog greatly enjoyed the dog bed.
The house was close to Shenandoah/Skyline Drive as well as Charlottesville where we spent some time. The house was beautiful and matched everything in the listing. The hosts were very responsive and provided everything needed for a great weekend. We highly recommend!
We loved our stay in this beautiful farmhouse…lots of added perks (like fresh eggs), that made our stay enjoyable…..the swing…. hammock made the stay so much fun for my son, and I loved drinking my morning coffee on the porch and we appreciated that it is very Drive friendly.
The place was perfect. From the quiet atmosphere to the general overall condition of the property. My wife and i stayed there with our dog. Easy to get to the park. Also just a beautiful place with a firepit and grills for us to use. Will diffently stay there again. A 10 easily for me
Great location, super cute house with lots of perks (farm fresh eggs, espresso machine and milk foamer, good kitchen supplies if you are planning on cooking. Great yard area for kids! We will definitely come again…

About the host
Hosted by Julie
We (owners and hosts Julie & Seth) live in nearby Charlottesville with our 3 children. We absolutely love being able to share this house with people and strive to provide an excellent stay for all our guests.
Why they chose this property
We found out that the owners of this house were looking to sell though a friend in 2021, and we fell in love with it immediately, from the stone walls, to the full-length porch to the cozy wood stove to the proximity to Shenandoah National Park. We feel fortunate to have it and love to stay there when we can.
What makes this property unique
"It's like a little oasis" is how the previous owners described it, and we agree. It feels completely private and serene, but you're not far from civilization.
